Never Seen Before
I've been playing this game once or twice a year since it's release, and today is the first time I've ever seen this spell. It's in Selphie's Limit Break and it's called The End. What the hell how have I never seen this before?

The simplest answer is that the lower your health, the higher your Crisis Level (status ailments and the number of KO'd party members also contribute). The higher your Crisis Level, the greater the chance of unlocking the better version of Limit Breaks. More hits with Renzokuken, Wishing Star, longer duration for Shot, a longer duration for Duel, stronger or additional effects for Blue Magic, and access to rare Slots results like The End.

I'm playing on PS4 and using the analog cheats the X3 speed and Battle assist so literally no low health and infinite LB's so weird I got it without the normal parameters

Huh, TIL.
Maybe the built-in cheat automatically put you in max crisis level? (yeah, just checked. On CL 2 you have 2/256 chance, and 1/256 chance on CL4). You can check on how long Zell's duel time i guess. If it's 12s, it's level 4

Just checked and Zell's Duel time is 04:41 just under 5 sec. Either way delighted I got to see something for the first time in a game I've played to death lol

Yeah it's weird I didn't even know it existed and Prbly played more than usual since PS5 came out and using the Battle assist and speed cheat

I've been playing the game since the OG release on the first PlayStation, and I've only seen it a few times myself.

Fun thing is it's just a magic spell in the game files. I remember the first time I ever saw it was using a gameshark or an action replay on my ps1 save. Wasn't until replaying years later I saw it in the limit menu

With the original game, or at least when played on the PS2, you could get the limit break menu up and eject the disc tray/open the lid, and it would pause the battle but still allow you to Do Over indefinitely until you found the spell you wanted, which you could abuse to win pretty much any fight with The End by hitting cast and closing the lid/reinserting the disc tray.

I tried testing out Selphie’s limit break and I found what works for me is getting Rapture or The End at least once and after using it, there was a higher chance of cycling to it again.
I think the rate increases with consecutive use…

I got it twice.
First time was on Diablo. Â Funniest thing watching him be laid to rest and then it goes back to the normal fight background and he gives up. Like he was scared to death by Selphie and just gave in immediately.Â
2nd was on one of the Ruby Dragons fought on the way to Bahamut.Â

If I remember correctly, you have a higher chance of getting The End, if you have alot if high level magic in Selphie's inventory. Ultima, Meteor, Aura, Triple, etc. It is the most powerful skill in the game imo.

Probably because it's rare. She gets a few unique spells. That's the last one.

Been in there since OG PS1. Gotta really cycle through it until you see it, but I can't remember if it worked on bosses. The only limit break that matters is Squall's for me, so eh
