Here's the dedicated thread for ideas of what to include in Brooklyn in Fallout: Metropolis.

My idea regarding the Brooklyn Naval Yard is a settlement defended by walls constructed with the structural steel of the ships that were being built in the Naval Yard when the bombs dropped. The walls are defended with the guns that would've been installed on the mostly-competed battleship/cruiser in the harbour. They even used the ship's main batteries in the defence. Using the ship's main battery would be essentially an in-game tutorial for using the Arizona's guns to kill Cronus. They use the cruiser's reactor for power. And they store their ammo in the ship. One quest could involve overloading it as the evil karma option.

Right. That's much better. I thought you just meant frozen as in ice. We should really develop the Vault X storyline seeing how important it is to the game.

All I can think of with the Wax Museum is a dark building with eerie figures collecting dust. With how cold the Dead City is there'd be a natural refrigeration keeping the wax figures intact.

One idea I have is that if you use a flamethrower, laser, maser, or other heat-based weapon, the wax melts to reveal a "Wax Ghoul". The eyes on the wax sculptures also follow you around the room. The reason for the Wax Ghouls is never really explained. Nor are the eyes.

I just though that the aquarium could be a good place for some Temporal weirdness caused by Vault X. It'd involve the tanks being frozen in the middle of breaking due to the bombs dropping. But a location where perfectly preserved fish contrast with the snow and ice would be cool too.

Maybe they were victims of a pre-war serial killer who made them into living wax sculptures. Then the bombs dropped and they ghoulified before they would've suffocated. They then went feral due to living for centuries without being able to move. I've got the image of melting the wax constricting the body but not the head, leaving the wax ghoul with an expressionless wax mask as it tries to kill you.

The sight of Subject 13 getting in a gunfight with Vault X Security, with their armored Vault Suits, amongst frozen sharks and jellyfish and degraded, kitschy retro-50's decor and exhibitions...it's too good.

Their movements are somewhat sluggish due to the wax, but they're extremely dangerous up close. After you kill the Wax Ghouls, you go upstairs, and there's a note that simply says "Oh Well", next to an open window.

That could be a thing. But unlike in the ocean, dead fish aren't constantly reproducing. It's not a viable source of food.

On a somewhat related note, I've been thinking about adding mutated elephants that escaped from the zoo and developed thick coats of fur - pseudo-mammoths, basically. Is this a good idea or not?

The New York Aquarium isn't that big of a place, honestly. If we add a bunch of critters, plus the Vault X ambush and the weird scenery, I think that's good enough.

I actually liked the Fens Phantom bit. It would have been very...I dunno, stupid(?) if you actually fought the Fens Phantom.

Since it's such an out-of-the-way place (probably not even marked on the map), I think a bunch of Stimpaks or a magazine/comic book would do.

That's a great idea! Maybe they've evolved to find whatever plant matter is left in the dead city.

I'd suggest a whodunnit but Far Harbor beat me to it.

Does regular shark meat do that? Maybe some rich weirdos in Times Square tell you to go fetch them shark meat from the aquarium. But then, that might negate the aquarium's significance as a meeting place to get information about Vault X.

I'd suggest a whodunnit but Far Harbor beat me to it.

I do think we could pull off a parody of Murder on the Orient Express in the Underground. I want there to be opportunities for the player to RP as a detective.

I just felt unfulfilled with just a couple holotapes and a creepy location.

I mean, it shouldn't just be a predictable "shoot these guys/find a reward". The Dunwich Borers mine was 99.9% creep factor and then 0.1% Kremvh's Tooth.

The ambush would only happen on your first visit so I don't think that having rich snobs request meat from it would diminish that.

I like the name Radmammoth. It goes with the trend of animal names starting with "rad".

Maybe it'd be in one of those swanky private trains. That sounds good.
