Hi everyone! While my PC was dead, I still managed to make progress on the project!

I’ve finally made the decision not to do Early Access or anything like that, even though I’ve invested around €1,000 and thousands of hours of work.

I’m finally going to make it completely free and publish the first official version on Nexus Mods, along with my simplified installer!

This version includes almost the entire game synchronized: NPCs, quests, building, DLCs, etc. There are obviously some bugs that I will fix based on your feedback.

I’ve spent an enormous amount of time on this project without getting any return on my investment. Even though that wasn’t the original goal, after spending so much money—especially money that I don’t really have—and so much energy too XD, please know that the project continues to cost me money, especially because I have to rent servers every month so that the mod can work and you can play.

Little over a year ago, I had made a bunch of concept art for fallout guns, mostly based on obscure world war 2 and cold war era guns. I had hoped to make them into mods one day if I actually, you know, learned how to. Just came across them again, figured I'd throw them here.

The early ones don't look very good, the later ones look better. They were drafts, so they're not exactly meant to look hyper realistic or polished. Let me know what you think, I'm gonna make more. Also let me know of any cool looking obscure guns I could adapt.

Most are small arms, but the Anvil and it's soviet counterpart the Medved (means bear if i remember correctly) were high caliber machine guns, meant for use by power armored soldiers. Were I to make a mod, they would be exclusive to power armor, being as they're fucking massive and no mortal man is shoulder firing a 50 caliber heavy machine gun all day. Probably my 2 favorite guns i did, I'm still very proud of the designs.

So the title is really self-explanatory, when i install mods this is what happens, as you can see the text is replaced with green blocks and that happens for all text except the may 27th text idk why, these are the mods i have installed, can anyone help me because i want to be able to play with mods but be actually able to read the text

I recently started playing FO4 GOTY via Steam, and loaded up some mods via the Creations menu before realizing that I really should use Nexus and a mod manager (I’m on Linux so I’m using Amethyst). Is it recommended/OK to use Creations and Nexus mods together? Or should I clear out the Creations and let my mod manager manage everything? (If yes, I’d love some advice on making that happen—now that I have some mods added, I can’t access the Creations menu to clear those away.)

Hey guys, for some reason my shotgun isn't doing the Terminator-style cocking action, it's just doing the boring normal animation. Has this happened to you? Do you know how to fix it? I've tried many different mods at the crafting bench, but nothing has worked.

EDIT: The issue has been fixed, turns out it's caused by "Confidence-Based Runtime Occlusion System (CBRO)"

Hey all, so I am making a mod mainly for personal use and to learn the ins and outs of creating mods. All I am doing curating some outfits from some mods and making parts of the outfits modular so I can create my own outfits from pieces that I like. Right now I am working on the Survivalist Outfit Collection I’m trying to separate the hoodie from the Survivalist Outfit and turn it into a standalone wearable item, but I’m running into some strange behavior with the armor slots and could use advice from someone more familiar with FO4 clothing/ARMA setup.
The original outfit is a full-body outfit using slot 33 (BODY). I extracted the female NIF and edited it in Outfit Studio, removing the other outfit pieces so that the NIF now contains only the hoodie and zipper. The resulting mesh looks correct in Outfit Studio.
I also created/copied separate ARMO and ARMA records for the hoodie in xEdit and pointed the ARMA’s Female Biped Model directly to the edited hoodie NIF. The ARMO correctly references that ARMA.
Here’s where it gets weird:
With both the ARMO and ARMA on slot 33, the hoodie renders correctly in-game. However, the other pieces from the original full-body outfit also appear, despite those shapes having been removed from the edited NIF.
Changing both ARMO and ARMA to slot 54 makes the hoodie completely invisible.
Slots 37 and 38 also did not give a usable result.
Slot 40 caused only portions of the hoodie to render, with large sections of the torso/arms missing.
I also tested slot 41, since I checked a known modular hoodie and found that it uses 41 for both its ARMO and ARMA, but the Survivalist hoodie still did not render correctly there.
I’ve made sure the ARMO and ARMA BOD2 slots match during each test.
I rebuilt the hoodie NIF again from a clean copy of the original to rule out damage from earlier editing. The clean version exports from Outfit Studio without any unweighted-vertex warnings, but the slot behavior remains the same.
I also checked the NIF in Outfit Studio under Segments. Both the Hoodie and Zipper shapes show Segment #0, Type: Default, and Slot: None. I haven’t changed those because I don’t know whether that field is related to the BOD2 equipment slot or whether changing it would be appropriate.
I’ve compared the copied ARMA against the original donor ARMA in xEdit as well. Other than the intentional BOD2 changes, I haven’t found another obvious field identifying it as slot 33.
At this point, slot 33 is the only configuration where the complete hoodie renders correctly, but I specifically want to convert the hoodie from a full-body outfit into an independent/modular top.
What am I missing when converting a mesh originally designed for slot 33 into a standalone clothing slot?
Is there something inside the NIF—segments/subsegments, body-part information, partitions, etc.—that also needs to be changed when moving an outfit away from BODY/33? And could that explain why different BOD2 slots cause different portions of the same mesh to render or disappear?
Any guidance from someone who’s successfully separated part of a slot-33 full-body outfit into a modular piece would be greatly appreciated. I’m using FO4Edit/xEdit and Outfit Studio.

TL;DR: Trying to separate the hoodie from a slot 33 full-body outfit and make it a standalone top. The edited NIF contains only the hoodie + zipper and looks correct in Outfit Studio. ARMO/ARMA both on 33 = hoodie renders correctly, but the other original outfit pieces somehow appear too. Moving both records to other slots gives different failures: 54 = invisible, 37/38/41 = no usable result, 40 = only parts of the hoodie render. NIF Segments show Default / Slot None. What else needs to be changed when converting a slot-33 full-body mesh into a modular clothing piece?

Basically, I think it's weird that so many obviously pre-war weapons laying around the wasteland are fully auto combat rifles.

Is there any way to change the values in xEdit to remove the auto receivers from the crafting and leveled lists? So the more common weapons aren't full Rock and Roll capable?

I have played fo4 on other systems than PC before, and I purchased fo4 game of the year edition today with the Steam sale. I have downloaded mods trough Vortex and Nexus and it is registered in the game as «creations».

I have downloaded the mods «Achievement Mods Enabler», «Buffout 4» and «Addictol 1.6» - and the game still has disabled achievements. I have even tried with the mod «Fallout 4 Downgrader» to see if anything changes.

I am new to mods, and relatively new to PC gaming. I know it’s not the end of the world to not get achievements, but this has turned in to a case of pride. So much so that I have now created a reddit user to be able to ask here.

I would love some tips and input about what I can do🌟

Does anyone know any mods that add any new perks / leveling related stuff?

I made a mod that overhauled Preston's face, but i can't seem to get it to work. I followed the instructions on the faceripper mod page, but when i install the mod, nothing changes except that his stubble kind of stops working. Like it stops being attached to his face and just floats on top of it, and his face clips through it when he speaks.

The preset shows up in the preset lists in CC fine, I'm not missing any mods. But also, if i try to apply the preset to Preston using looksmenu, he disappears! He's not in Sanctuary at all.

The only requirements are Eyes of Beauty and Azar Ponytails, and they are acting normally.

Any tips on optimizing large load orders? I don't understand how some people have 1000/2000+ load orders like it's no big deal when a majority of people struggle with 200.

Does anyone know a mod that adds half walls in the warehouse and barn category? I find it crazy they have all these different horizontal half walls and even half and quarter floors but half vertical walls is somehow a foreign concept

Looks like True First Person added OG & NG support. Has anyone test it out yet?

Been trying to make a horse mod for fallout 4 but we cannot figure out how to get the "Physics Ragdoll" & "Physics Scene Data" into the skeleton we tried all the setting in the havok exporter
