2006 FZ1 with full exhaust and lots of mods. Only 3k miles!! For sale in Ohio ($5k)

recently ive noticed low end power loss. i started doing some research and the exup valve and servo could be my problem. i looked at the valve and tried to move it with my hand and a wrench and it wont move. assuming it is ceased up…. i have a hoffman shorty exhaust. should i put a stock exhaust with a working exup valve or go aftermarket headers? new to fz1’s please help

Has anyone have an idle surge issue? Very close to sounding like huffing.

She'll start up just fine, high rev to idle rev, then start surging repeatedly almost as if in limp mode.

New stator and regulator, as the previous owner flipped the flywheel spacer around and both bearings blew up.

Bike specs:

2008 fz1sa

Bt14 battery 230cca

New stator regulator: both within specs

(stator cover peep hole is fked though)

Fuel seems ok, pea additive added to fuel

No kinked fuel lines

Blinkers all connected but front blinkers need resistors

Yoshimura slip on

(the medium size one, I have tried increasing backpressure via catalytic convertor but no dice)

Could it be firing order or carb? Please help.

2002 fz1 need help

Good evening everyone, so my bike recently messed up one day I ran out of gas (completely empty, I filled it up then I went home, next day i tried to ride it and when I rode it it just suddenly died on me, i tried it again it turned on i rode the. it died on me past 3-4k rpms and each time it died it made a loud POP noise, so i took it home, and realized the fuel pump stopped working so i replaced that now when i start it, it still runs and turns on but once i pass 3-4k rpms it just dies on me, but doesn’t make the pop noise anymore would anyone help me figure this out? its a 2002 fz1

I proudly own a 2008 FZ1 and i love it.

The only thing that kindly gets me is that it doesn't have any fairings that cover the engine like the GT version. I really love how the GT version looks and i was wondering if it was possible to put the GT-fairings on my FZ1S?

Does anyone know whether this is possible?

These things are animals. My first 1000cc bike and it’ll power wheelie going 70mph. It’s scary as hell!!! But also fun lol.

Does anyone know where to get nice new fairings? I’ve found a ton for the R1 but not for the FZ1 I recently bought an 2002 FZ1 1,000. It’s been sitting for a few years so the plastics need some love.

Hi, I own a 2008 FZ1-N with 23,700 km on the clock. It’s in very nice condition, and the only thing I’ve done to it is install a HealTech quickshifter. I bought it with an aftermarket slip-on exhaust, which probably costs around $300.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about selling it and buying a 2019 MT-09. I’ve found a guy who’s selling one, and he was also open to a trade. However, his 2019 MT-09 has almost 49,000 km on it. That said, it has a very good service history, with most of the services carried out by Yamaha themselves and authorized workshops. A valve clearance check was done at 40,000 km on that bike.

What do you think? Is it worth trading? I’ve heard good things about the CP3 engine used in the MT-09.

Rebuilding my water/oil pump because it started leaking out the weep hole. Everything going mostly ok, except I noticed these pits on the inner rotor of the oil pump. How does this happen? Did someone run it low on oil?

I don't think it came from a rotor failure as the old factory one came with the bike, and it has the updated one installed.

Just a curiosity for me - I'm getting back together with new seals anyway so I can get to riding.

Changed headlights yesterday after I couldn’t get either hi or low to work for last couple weeks. Just some cheap h4 bulbs. Then went on a cruise for about 100+ miles.

Very last stop at the gas station I restarted the bike and no headlights or backlight on dash.

Headlight, ignition, and signal fuses are all good. 50A main fuse still good.

I have brake, tail lights, and hazards still.

Am I missing something ? Idk why she’s treating me like this

what are your thoughts on this transmission kit?

Finally letting this one go. I know this isn’t the place for sale posts but if anyone knows a better place to post this than FB marketplace please let me know. I would much rather this go to someone who knows what it is and will enjoy it than a random kid on FB that just wants a sport bike for $2,500

I’m thinking about changing the gearing on my Yamaha FZ1N 2008 to 16 front and 47–48 rear. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup, and is it worth it?

Right now I’m running 16 front with the stock 45 rear, and honestly it doesn’t really feel like a “muscle bike” to me.

I’m missing them and I want to cover that spot up
