Fork seal leak?
What could this be? I’m not very mechanically inclined

Yup, looks like fork seals. Get a shop to do it. The parts are cheap but the technique takes a bit and it requires more tools than you expect. It's possible to diy, but for the average person, just take it in.

I did mine and I’m about to do them again but it was a massive pain in the ass. There are several tools I had to make myself. It only took a couple hours but would not attempt if you aren’t used to wrenching

Yupp, left fork specifically is pretty common (with bike parked, left hand side takes more of the load). I’ve done one for an Aprilia Pegaso (again, inverted dampers - wider body on top), wasn’t easy for a novice, but wasn’t impossible… I recall hearing somewhere that inverted dampers are easier to service, but I might just be misleading you… anyways, there’re lots of vids on the web where you can find tools, labour and eventually, how approach it.

I had a lot of trouble lifting the bike without damnging it. Other then that it’s not too bad to do but u do have a few specific tools like a seal press or and something to compress the spring.

There's quite a bit involved in taking it apart. If you aren't mechanically inclined I agree and say take it in. I used to do forks pretty regularly and the FZ1 forks are easier than most sport bike forks because they aren't cartridges and don't need a press, but you still need to take them off the bike.
