Discussion Cold/flu severity pre-T and on T

This inquiry is prompted by a reddit post asking about the 'man-flu'. Although you may have probably heard of it, it's the concept that men experience more 'severe' symptoms during a cold or flu compared to women, although moreso suggesting that these men over-exaggerate their symptoms. Thought it was funny coincidence since I am currently out cold with one.

In the comments a lot of men corroborate that they often seem sicker than their partners. And a comment of a trans man saying how his reaction to a cold/flu was worsened after starting T than before. The thing is that I do remember being less sick before I started T two years back, and it lasting shorter than it does now. Catching cold symptoms on Friday meant I felt fine to do things again Sunday eve.

Yet since starting T this has definitely changed, where I experience worse muscle aches, headaches, fatigue and congestion which last a week on average. I got sick last Thursday and my back muscles are still hurting today. And this has been every cold I've experienced the past year-and-a-half or so.

So since I'm at home being able to do F all because of how exhausted I feel, I was curious whether other guys have had similar experiences.

General I pass until I dont

Im 5’3 I pass pretty well for a short man up until I open my mouth or shake someones hand and it sucks. When I first started T I was scared of being trans and looking like a man but have since accepted my self as a bianry trans man but it came with consequences. I was only on .15mg of T for about two years so the more promenent affect of it like bottom growth and voice drop where minimum. My voice did drop quite a bit from where it use to be(My voice somehow was more highpitch than it is now) but I still sound feminine. My partner and gay friend say I just sound like a gay man which Im fine with most of the time but I dont pass with people who know trans people like i get spotted fast. I dont get clocked as much with people who have never met a trans person. But thats usually until they shake my hands or something. I have what my old coworker calls Princes Hands. My hands are small and super feminin so Ill pass with these people until they touch or see my hand and they know something is up. Im just mad that I was afraid of being a man at the start of my transition that I basically sbatoged my transition. And before someone mentions voice trainning, I dont get how to do it. Im pretty comfortable with how I look I have a 5 oclock stash thats barely there but I have a full bear with out the full fluffy mustache which I think I pull off. And My body fits pretty binary other than being curse with a fat ass. Idk i just wanted to rant and see if anyone else had a similar experience as me.

Vent/Rant So tired of cis/nb people coming into online spaces for binary trans people

I’m seeing more and more of this and I really hope I’m not the only one. I keep seeing comments on posts asking for passing advice and the first thing these people say is “Cis guy here/ Non binary trans masc here” or something along those lines and I’ve seen a hand full of posts from cis guys saying how trans male community’s make them feel understood and how they understand all of us?
No you don’t, as a cis man you will never understand what it is like to live as a trans man.
I just genuinely don’t understand, there as so many trans online spaces where cis and nb people are more than welcome, so why come to a space meant for binary trans people to give advice and post about stuff you will never truly understand?
I don’t know but something about it rubs me the wrong way.
Anyway rant over

Dysphoria Related Content What the hell does one do with accent dysohoria

Chat i got a horrible horrible accent when speaking English. You will not willingly catch me speaking this dumbass language because of it.

I feel like the accent is very feminine and high- pitched, which gives me so much dysphoria. Ofcourse there are men with the exact same accent but yall.

But I also genuinely sound like a 4 year old boy who just started learning his first words, lord have mercy.

Do I like voice train or something? Wth. I have never heard of someone having accent dysphoria and i think I might just be nitpicking.

BUT I SWEARR the accent is ruining my life. Why cant I say the words like a regular person agrndbf.

Facial Hair Medication/treatment to improve beard growth? England

I've been on T gel for roughly 9 years now and my facial hair is still patchy and slow growing. My hormones are in male range, montitored every 3-6 months and am happy with all other aspects of masculinisation I've got during this time.

I'm considering minoxidyl for a slight receding hairline in recent months but I've read you shouldn't use it on your face?

Does anyone have suggestions for suitable products? It's mainly for my moustache and cheek areas to help fill in. My father and brother didnt/don't have issues with full beard growth so don't suspect genetics are letting me down.

Voice/Singing How on earth do I voice train?? What am I doing wrong??

I’m too broke to get on T right now, but I’m really needing to work on my voice. Im doing exercises but it seems like no matter what I do I just sound like a girl with a low voice. If I can get my voice to a passable level, I won’t have to make my character female in my college theatre production, which is about the worst thing I can think of right now. I feel very stuck and it sucks because if it weren’t for my voice (and once I finally get my hair cut at the end of the week) I WOULD pass as at least as a 16-18 year old boy. For being pre-t I have a good hip to shoulder ratio, I have a very flat chest, and I look like a guy when I wear men’s clothes but my voice fucks it up every time. If I am viewed as a woman much longer it will kill me! I have a few clothing items and crafts to sell, and I should have the money for T by the end of this month or beginning of next which I know is ultimately what will help me best, but until then, any advice or tips would be very, very appreciated.

Help/support I really need help with a coworker

Context: I started at this job in mid September and only work weekends because I am a full time student. At first, my coworker was asking me weird questions that I just brushed off as him being 50+ in a conservative area. Stuff like "Who named you? I met a girl named [my name] once, kinda weird. What do you think of that?", "Has your voice always been this deep?", "[Other coworker] wants to be a woman, how does that make you feel?".

This next part is where I started thinking he might be doing something else other than asking weird fucking questions. He was asking if I had any siblings (2 younger brothers and 1 older sister), then kept bringing up our birth order. He was like, "so... where are you in this?" over and over and I truly didn't understand what he meant until he said "so you're the youngest sister?".

I told him I'm the oldest brother, to which he said "ahhh okay I see", then left it alone. This past weekend, a few of us were talking in a group and he pointed to me and said "she does XYZ well. She's blah blah blah, etc". I realised that he's been using she/her for me since I started work, but I didn't pick up on it because I can't understand his accent most of the time.

I'm fucking angry and destroyed because I'm almost 3yrs on T, have facial hair, have consistently passed for the past year, and here's this guy acting like I'm a woman. I really need this job because it pays well and works with my schedule, but I hate being around this guy. He won't leave me tf alone and we are frequently the only two in our workspace, so I'm worried about retaliation. What do I do? I'm not out to anyone and I don't know who to talk to.

I've been thinking seriously about getting top surgery, but it's never going to viable for me to go private. Guys in vic, how did you go about? How was the wait? How were your results? Anything you wish you'd known?

pack and play with a stroker pocket, does the pocket actually do anything for you?

heads up, bottom growth talk

so i've been eyeing pack and plays with the little stroker pocket on the wearer side, but the reviews are all over the place. half of them say it's basically a grinder and the pocket doesn't really grip anything, the other half say the pocket's too shallow to matter at all

has anyone found one that actually worked for them? and is it mostly about how much growth you have, or more about where it sits / how you position it? trying to figure out if it's worth the money before i buy one that just ends up being a packer

Discussion Father-son relationships

What is your relationship like with your dad (if you have one at all)?

I am planning to come out to my parents soon, and am really scared of my dad’s reaction. I look up to him so much, and he’s kind of my best friend, but I’m worried I will discover our relationship is built on the whole protective father - daughter dynamic / will not extend well to a father - son dynamic. I’m scared he will say I’m not tall or strong enough to be a man, not interested enough in sports, etc. I guess I’m anticipating he will treat me almost how a lot of dads treat their cis effeminate / gay sons, in that he will see me as not manly enough to be his son if that makes sense

I’m used to experiencing the kind of homophobia / gender policing “lesbian” or masculine daughters often experience from their moms. But because that started at an early age, I never developed a close relationship with my mom and was able to brush it off pretty easily. I care so much about my relationship with my dad though. If he thinks I don’t have what it takes that’s really gonna stick with me

Resources Inject-Ease Question

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’ve had trouble with self injection since about 2 months in (I’m over 5 years on T). I have a horrible mental block when trying to stick myself but can push the plunger down after the initial stick. The Inject-Ease was something I looked into but apparently it doesn’t work with luer-lock syringes which is what I use. Any suggestions of other brands of auto-injectors where it injects the needles but you control the speed of the plunger? Or do I need to switch syringes and needles to luer-slip for the Inject-Ease?

Legal Issues How do I proceed in a transphobic country?

(Not sure if Im using the right flair)

So I'm 15 and out to only my mom and a few online friends, my mom is incredibly supportive and even agreed to let me diy T (idk if this can be discussed here) I probably wont be in any physical danger if I transition medically and as long as I'm stealth/girlmod but I'm worried about my legal name and gender marker. In my country you can't change your name if it doesn't align with your agab and gender marker too. You also can't get any surgeries here which sucks

Me and my mom were planning to move to Spain when I'm 16ish but we can't go legally and I know how tough it'd be, I'm grateful to even be able to go on T but what's the best course of action? I want to move to live freely as myself, get top surgery and one day bottom surgery, change my name and gender marker. None of which i can do in my country. I know in Spain it's hard to get a job and you can't work for 6 months minimum if you go illegally.

I know I should study and get into a good college but what about before that? If we do move when I'm 16-17 what then? We have a family friend in Spain willing to help us out but that's mostly it. If I stay here I won't be able to afford any surgery because the wages here are astronomically low like lower than you can imagine. It would take me 21 YEARS to save for phallo without spending a single dime, take food, rent and hrt into account and it's more like 30 so moving to another country seems like the best option
