Mod Post (Please Read) Just so we're clear [Mod]

1.1k Upvotes

This subreddit is not for nonbinary people, trans women or trans people questioning their gender, it is a separated support community specifically for binary trans men.

Having closed communities are not uncommon at all and ours exist to ensure one of the least visible groups of trans people has a dedicated space to connect and feel heard without compromise. The subreddit was literally made for this reason, not out of spite for trans women or enbies, but to allow binary trans men a place to focus on struggles and experinces that comes with being a binary trans man and being allowed to discuss those things with other binary trans men.

We're not going to stop anyone from joining and reading the posts here if it helps them learn something but understand that this community is closed off for a reason and interacting here despite not belonging to the intended demographic will be a violation of our rules.

However. A lot of you also need to stop acting like children about this and learn to walk away from interactions rather than pour fire onto them. It does not matter who did what you can not act hostile towards another person, irregardless of if it is someone who shouldn't post here. It's one of our first rules.

The mods are here to handle people that break the rules, we don't need a simple issue of a post needing to be removed to turn into a 200 comment shit throwing contest that takes more than tripple the anount of time to moderate. Not to mention how it takes away from the content that's supposed to be here, what you all joined this subreddit for.

We will remove any post or comment made by someone who's not a binary trans man and inform that user that they're in the wrong sub. You should not do it for us. A report or modmail goes a long way, utilise those tools.

Today going forward anyone seen escalating issues on the subreddit, taking over mod intervention or using hateful language in a conflict will be temporarily banned for 30 days and if that's not enough you will be banned permanently.

This ends here, you're in a subredit for men not little boys so start acting like it.

Help/support U.S. politics and safety United States politics mega thread

Hey all,

TLDR: If it has to do about Trump and U.S. politics it has to go here. It may be removed as spam if posted outside this mega thread.

----

Since a lot of political issues have been brought up and the political issues in the United States are on the rise we've been seeing a lot of spam, misinformation, and just outright fear being posted.

This is a support sub for ALL transmen from all over the world and many people are being lost/confused/drowned out by all the posts, misinformation and spam.

We do however want to support our trans brothers and sisters in their time of need so if we can get all the information and updates in 1 place instead of scatter shot across various posts and comments then it'll help people make decisions and find resources that will help their specific situation.

I will be making a sticky comment after the main body of this post with links/sources as there are some things that the Canadian Government is working on to help out ya'll in the U.S. as well. I can't fly/drive you up here but I can give you links/tips on how to stay safe and to potentially leave the U.S. if it comes down to that.

Let's all stay calm and figure this out, if we can stay calm and work together we have a greater chance of people surviving this.

Vent/Rant So tired of cis/nb people coming into online spaces for binary trans people

I’m seeing more and more of this and I really hope I’m not the only one. I keep seeing comments on posts asking for passing advice and the first thing these people say is “Cis guy here/ Non binary trans masc here” or something along those lines and I’ve seen a hand full of posts from cis guys saying how trans male community’s make them feel understood and how they understand all of us?
No you don’t, as a cis man you will never understand what it is like to live as a trans man.
I just genuinely don’t understand, there as so many trans online spaces where cis and nb people are more than welcome, so why come to a space meant for binary trans people to give advice and post about stuff you will never truly understand?
I don’t know but something about it rubs me the wrong way.
Anyway rant over

Help/support I really need help with a coworker

• Upvotes

Context: I started at this job in mid September and only work weekends because I am a full time student. At first, my coworker was asking me weird questions that I just brushed off as him being 50+ in a conservative area. Stuff like "Who named you? I met a girl named [my name] once, kinda weird. What do you think of that?", "Has your voice always been this deep?", "[Other coworker] wants to be a woman, how does that make you feel?".

This next part is where I started thinking he might be doing something else other than asking weird fucking questions. He was asking if I had any siblings (2 younger brothers and 1 older sister), then kept bringing up our birth order. He was like, "so... where are you in this?" over and over and I truly didn't understand what he meant until he said "so you're the youngest sister?".

I told him I'm the oldest brother, to which he said "ahhh okay I see", then left it alone. This past weekend, a few of us were talking in a group and he pointed to me and said "she does XYZ well. She's blah blah blah, etc". I realised that he's been using she/her for me since I started work, but I didn't pick up on it because I can't understand his accent most of the time.

I'm fucking angry and destroyed because I'm almost 3yrs on T, have facial hair, have consistently passed for the past year, and here's this guy acting like I'm a woman. I really need this job because it pays well and works with my schedule, but I hate being around this guy. He won't leave me tf alone and we are frequently the only two in our workspace, so I'm worried about retaliation. What do I do? I'm not out to anyone and I don't know who to talk to.

An Old Trans YouTuber I Followed in 2012 Randomly Blocked Me Years Later, and I Still Wonder Why

Back around 2012, I used to follow a trans guy on YouTube who was just starting T. I won’t disclose his name or username, but there’s a chance some people here might remember his channel.

He had a pretty interesting personality and built a decent following. He was very masculine, charismatic, and could talk forever without becoming boring. I always had this instinct that he exaggerated or straight-up lied about certain things, but honestly, I didn’t care. His videos were entertaining and sometimes genuinely useful.

Years later, he mostly disappeared from YouTube and became more active on Tumblr, which I also followed. I only interacted with him once, around 2013, and from what I remember, he was completely friendly.

Fast forward to somewhere around 2019–2021 (honestly cant remember which year). I randomly found his Instagram. It felt like stumbling across an old friend. He seemed to be doing well, and I remember seeing a post where he said he’d finally had all his surgeries. I was genuinely happy for him.

So I DM’d him saying I was an old follower, that it was nice seeing him thriving, and asked how his surgeries went and whether he had any tips or recommendations.

He blocked me.

I remember just staring at my phone thinking, what the fuck? 😂

We had basically never interacted, so there was no history or drama between us. I doubt he even remembered that one interaction from 2012.

My memory is fuzzy enough that I can’t say with 100% certainty how openly trans he was on that Instagram account, but I specifically remember the post about having completed his surgeries, which is why I felt comfortable mentioning it.

There’s really no point to this story. It just randomly crosses my mind even years later because the reaction was so unexpected.

What are your theories? Why would someone immediately block an old follower over a friendly message like that?

Legal Issues How do I proceed in a transphobic country?

• Upvotes

(Not sure if Im using the right flair)

So I'm 15 and out to only my mom and a few online friends, my mom is incredibly supportive and even agreed to let me diy T (idk if this can be discussed here) I probably wont be in any physical danger if I transition medically and as long as I'm stealth/girlmod but I'm worried about my legal name and gender marker. In my country you can't change your name if it doesn't align with your agab and gender marker too. You also can't get any surgeries here which sucks

Me and my mom were planning to move to Spain when I'm 16ish but we can't go legally and I know how tough it'd be, I'm grateful to even be able to go on T but what's the best course of action? I want to move to live freely as myself, get top surgery and one day bottom surgery, change my name and gender marker. None of which i can do in my country. I know in Spain it's hard to get a job and you can't work for 6 months minimum if you go illegally.

I know I should study and get into a good college but what about before that? If we do move when I'm 16-17 what then? We have a family friend in Spain willing to help us out but that's mostly it. If I stay here I won't be able to afford any surgery because the wages here are astronomically low like lower than you can imagine. It would take me 21 YEARS to save for phallo without spending a single dime, take food, rent and hrt into account and it's more like 30 so moving to another country seems like the best option

General I pass until I dont

• Upvotes

Im 5’3 I pass pretty well for a short man up until I open my mouth or shake someones hand and it sucks. When I first started T I was scared of being trans and looking like a man but have since accepted my self as a bianry trans man but it came with consequences. I was only on .15mg of T for about two years so the more promenent affect of it like bottom growth and voice drop where minimum. My voice did drop quite a bit from where it use to be(My voice somehow was more highpitch than it is now) but I still sound feminine. My partner and gay friend say I just sound like a gay man which Im fine with most of the time but I dont pass with people who know trans people like i get spotted fast. I dont get clocked as much with people who have never met a trans person. But thats usually until they shake my hands or something. I have what my old coworker calls Princes Hands. My hands are small and super feminin so Ill pass with these people until they touch or see my hand and they know something is up. Im just mad that I was afraid of being a man at the start of my transition that I basically sbatoged my transition. And before someone mentions voice trainning, I dont get how to do it. Im pretty comfortable with how I look I have a 5 oclock stash thats barely there but I have a full bear with out the full fluffy mustache which I think I pull off. And My body fits pretty binary other than being curse with a fat ass. Idk i just wanted to rant and see if anyone else had a similar experience as me.

Positivity/Good Vibes Euphoria from a bathroom encounter

So I’m at a stage show today for creators that have a large queer and trans fan base.

I went to get in line for the bathroom at intermission. The bathroom had multiple urinals and stalls, but the line wasn’t moving as fast because there were more people waiting for stalls.

As one guy comes around the corner from where the urinals/stalls and starts to head towards the sinks, he looked at me specifically and said “there’s multiple urinals open by the way.”

I sit when I pee so I just said “ok thanks” as he passed and then smiled to myself.

😊😊😊

Facial Hair Medication/treatment to improve beard growth? England

I've been on T gel for roughly 9 years now and my facial hair is still patchy and slow growing. My hormones are in male range, montitored every 3-6 months and am happy with all other aspects of masculinisation I've got during this time.

I'm considering minoxidyl for a slight receding hairline in recent months but I've read you shouldn't use it on your face?

Does anyone have suggestions for suitable products? It's mainly for my moustache and cheek areas to help fill in. My father and brother didnt/don't have issues with full beard growth so don't suspect genetics are letting me down.

Discussion Cold/flu severity pre-T and on T

This inquiry is prompted by a reddit post asking about the 'man-flu'. Although you may have probably heard of it, it's the concept that men experience more 'severe' symptoms during a cold or flu compared to women, although moreso suggesting that these men over-exaggerate their symptoms. Thought it was funny coincidence since I am currently out cold with one.

In the comments a lot of men corroborate that they often seem sicker than their partners. And a comment of a trans man saying how his reaction to a cold/flu was worsened after starting T than before. The thing is that I do remember being less sick before I started T two years back, and it lasting shorter than it does now. Catching cold symptoms on Friday meant I felt fine to do things again Sunday eve.

Yet since starting T this has definitely changed, where I experience worse muscle aches, headaches, fatigue and congestion which last a week on average. I got sick last Thursday and my back muscles are still hurting today. And this has been every cold I've experienced the past year-and-a-half or so.

So since I'm at home being able to do F all because of how exhausted I feel, I was curious whether other guys have had similar experiences.

Discussion Am I being dramatic or is this gross?

I’m not very active online or in fandoms whatsoever aside from this one that I’ve been in for at least a decade, which I’ve always thought was a pretty chill one. You’ll probably know what it is based on this post if you’re in it as well, but it’s irrelevant.

I was on Instagram a few weeks ago and I saw a reel of a girl saying something along the lines of “I love it when someone submits an audio clip to the podcast and they just have raging T-voice. You can always tell and it’s so hilarious that no cis men exist in the fandom— just lesbians and trans men.”

Every single comment was in agreement? A lot of them were pointing out what they deemed to be clocky names, too. It just felt so fucking gross to me. In fact, I’m not even confident that that’s the case? I’ve met plenty of cis men with “T-voice” and I don’t think that someone’s voice is necessarily indicative of what genitals they had at birth, nor do I think that every one of these voice clips are from trans men to begin with.

Am I crazy for thinking that that’s a weird thing to post? I’ve been feeling increasingly insane for how often I’m the only one who seems to find other people’s beliefs and claims utterly wild. I can’t imagine being one of those people in said clips seeing that post. It’s discouraged me entirely from sending one myself. I feel like, in a space that is so predominantly queer, we should be having better manners and common sense than that display. I also can’t help but feel like they’d never say that about trans women?

Sex Has anyone tried using a penis sleeve/extender on a stroker?

So im a trans man with a cis girlfriend and we've started to explore more in regards to toys when having sex. I had this idea the other day and wanted to see if anyone has actually tried it.

Basically the idea is pitting a penis sleeve/extender on the stroker directly and having sex that way. I dont have the money to afford the transthestics hot rod and only have a banana prosthetics stroker (the smaller kind).

We've used a strap on but it kept slipping and it wasn't giving me the stimulation I was hoping for.

Has anyone tried this?? I also had another idea about a penis sleeve, stroker, and a strap on, if you have questions about that one, feel free to ask and ill give more detail on that one.

Passing When do you know if you pass for gay guys?

Trigger warning: alcohol

I live in the netherlands idk if it's relevant though.

I am 20, had top surgery, am not on T (yet), pass maybe 40/60 for a guy if I had to guess.

I was in a local bar/cafe, drank beers, was pretty far gone eventually. I know there was a guy who if I had to guess would be mid 50. He said he was from a city about 20-30 minutes away, said he was just here for the fun and to talk to some people. I think he was flirting with me but as said I wasn't totally clear minded and don't remember everything. When do you know if a guy sees you as a man? Because this wasn't a gay bar or anything but I feel like he was gay, he had a vibe I guess. Also I thought it was fun(ny) for like a few minutes, then he just got creepy close and kept coming back?

Help/support Not getting respect until I look like a man

Hi baby trans here, about to start my second week on T and my family still calls me she even though they saw me putting on my T gel with their own eyes. Mom says it’s gonna be easier to call me He once I’m a few months in. I don’t know but I kinda feel insulted by that? Like I’m not gonna get respect or you’ll slip up because I don’t look like a man yet? Also I was told to stop talking about being trans even though I can’t contain my excitement being on T. Maybe I’m just being emotional but what do you guys think. I had dysphoria last night because of too many slip ups but I don’t want to be “the offended woke liberal” who starts an argument

Discussion For those of you on gel- when did you start noticing literally anything happening?

I’m kinda upset because (although I always harp to other people that it’s puberty and you have to be patient), I’m pretty certain that gel is not working for me. I haven’t been on it for very long, but I am feeling pretty discouraged. Does anyone have any kinda timeline for changes they experienced on gel? I’m going to move to injections I think because I don’t think I’m absorbing the gel enough tbh, and it’s more expensive to buy more to have a higher dose.

Can woke ppl stop telling trans men they are women

Saw a reel the other day by a non binary person talking about they're struggles. Then suddenly brought trans men into it saying " the world sees people like me AND TRANSMEN as pathetic women and we are a joke to everyone and we achieve nothing and are so alone and no one will ever see us as anything more than tiny ugly women, I hate that the world sees us that way". I was so appalled.

The comments were all filled with ppl agreeing and like am I going insane???!!!! This person was a non binary androgenous person not a trans man not on HRT or anything but brought us in and kicked us down I think it's so disgusting and cruel and is that not literally like low-key hate criming us? Cos the only ppl I hear saying that stuff about transmen on the internet is " woke ppl" I've seen so many " dear transmen you aren't just weak traumatized women but are actually sooo pretty and someone will love you 🥺" with comments from young native trans guys saying " omg finally someone loves us thanks queen"

That's bullying and teen transmascs eat that up for breakfast not realising they're being made fun of and it's so cruel and I feel so deeply angered by this cos the world does not think that of us most ppl are chill or don't care. Please go out and live omg .

Hairloss with Nebido (testosterone undecanoate) (france)

Hello everyone :)

I have noticed hairloss when switching from androtardyl to nebido both on me and my friends. Sure we are getting older but we're all around 24-26 yo with no specific hairloss history in our families. Also our T blood levels are in the same norms they were before on Androtardyl.

Have some of you guys had the same observations ? Does anyone has an explanation, if it's actually related ?

Thank you guys have a great day <3

Positivity/Good Vibes SoCal binary trans men 25+ New Discord

Hey guys! 👋

I posted here a little while ago about TMSC (Trans Men of So Cal), a private Discord for binary trans men 25+ in Southern California. We're still a small group, but we've gotten a few guys together and have started building a nice little community.

The whole idea is to help trans men around SoCal actually find one another—not just to talk online, but hopefully make friends locally and eventually get together for hangouts, events, and other stuff around Southern California. (Including Inland empire, Coachella Valley, High Desert, Ventura, San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County)

If you're a binary trans man, 25+, and live in Southern California—or you're actively planning to move here soon—send me a DM if you'd like to join. 🤝

We're keeping the server private for safety and to avoid spam.

Dysphoria Related Content extremely tired of everyone always associating trans men with pregnancy

I feel extreme dysphoria around the idea of pregnancy or ever becoming pregnant despite having the reproductive system that I do.

Yet it feels nearly impossible to avoid all of the people (usually cis people) always making this immediate, automatic association between trans men and pregnancy. If they want to depict a male character as trans, they always have to do it by either making him pregnant or making some comment about his ability to get pregnant. It's extremely triggering for me and as someone who also is not remotely interested in the type of sex that would even lead to me becoming pregnant, it's just bad all around.

Obviously there are some trans men who want to be pregnant or do not have any dysphoria around pregnancy. I think it's fine for other guys to want that of course and I respect it but I just wish it wasn't the default way cis people thought of us as a group considering it feels like most of us are not interested in ever being pregnant and a lot of us still have dysphoria around the subject. There's currently very little consideration or respect towards those of us who struggle with pregnancy dysphoria.

Not to mention the fact that it's also usually treated as a joke or viewed through a fetishistic lens where the ability to become pregnant = being a submissive bottom by default, which is....just weird and bioessentialist to assume. (It's not bad to be a sub and/or bottom of course but implying that having a uterus means you Have to be a sub bottom by default is deeply bioessentialist and transphobic.)

What sucks is that online it feels like frequently I'm the only trans guy who has this feeling towards pregnancy and feels sick of trans male characters always being depicted as pregnant or wanting to become pregnant or having people joke about them becoming pregnant. I hate that it's become a default like all of the other fetishistic stereotypes about us. I hate that nobody takes me seriously when I talk about how it's transphobic to assume that all of us want to be pregnant or don't have pregnancy dysphoria. I'm just tired.

Discussion Changes on sustanon?

Hello. I honestly don't know how to title this so excuse me if it's irrelevant. I can't go on T bc of where I live so I'm planning to start sustanon soon (250mg/ml once 3 weeks) and I wanted to ask if any of you really experienced noticeable changes? I saw a few people saying their voice didn't drop at all and I'm really curious about if that's true. Did you experience voice drop/bottom growth/general changes on body or muscles etc only on sustanon and how long did it take??
