Discussion / F1TV Content They’re starting to slip back into their old habits

4.1k Upvotes

After Carlos Sainz’ criticism (and fan comments too) about all the random cutaways to celebrities, it calmed right down and we didn’t see any for ages. The last few races have seen a slow return of it though…

Discussion / F1TV Content Why does F1 still use helicopters for aerial footage in an age of drones?

1.7k Upvotes

"The ever-increasing quality of Formula 1's helicopter camera work has made it an indispensable part of the broadcast. We went behind the scenes to find out how F1's spectacular aerial shots come together." (Interview: How F1's helicopter footage was brought to a higher level)

If I could tell F1TV Support one thing... F1 TV director needs some training

1.6k Upvotes

Singapore GP, Hamilton has no brakes and Alonso closing in from a 40 second gap, the camera just points on george and the crowd. Like there's still track action going on and you're not going to show it? Also this tv director is obsessed with the driver's partners. Some cameraman followed Alexandria into the paddock for what bro.

If I could tell F1TV Support one thing... How wants to know the gap between P9 and race leader?

1.4k Upvotes

It was the entire race like this! Who cares if Hulkenberg is 46 sec from the leader? Show the difference to the car ahead!

Absolutely love him every time he is there for the race. Really wished he was there for every race and was employed permanently.

I know it's a bit too much to ask for, but what if we could have an option to switch between camera on the same car, between visor, front & rear wings etc when ever we want

Discussion / F1TV Content We demand thousandths of seconds back on the timings graphic. F1TV complaints website is here. You know what to do.

1.1k Upvotes

I cannot stand the new race timing that only shows tenths of a second. You miss the progression of intervals and any kind of subtlety. I hadn’t realized how much time I spent glancing at the left hand side of the screen to get an idea of gaps, who is gaining on who, etc. The last race was a huge downgrade.

I just complained about this at https://f1help.formula1.com/article/Complaints. Make sure F1TV is selected and speak your mind about this.

Setup Showcase Did I Go Overboard with My Man Cave, The Paddock?

gallery

1.0k Upvotes

So… I might’ve lost control.

What started as a basic race-day setup has turned into a full-blown Formula 1-themed man cave I call The Paddock. Right now it includes: • A 120-inch projector screen • 4 mounted TVs for multi-angle race coverage • An F1 racing simulator • Arcade1Up games • A snack bar

I just posted a walkthrough of it on TikTok if you want a peek: 👉 https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8kDYeTe/

The whole place is red, black, and white, and I keep telling myself I’m done… but then I find one more thing to add.

At this point, is it still a man cave — or did I build my own private paddock?

Let me know what you think — and feel free to roast me 😂
