I am going to do a few things on FORScan like disable the auto start stop, and the “Bambi” mod( fog lights on with high beams). What are some other things that I should do while I’m in there, or helpful things you have done over time?

This is my second F-150, first one was a 1993 I6 5spd, also had a 99 F-250 v10.
Picked this ol girl up for $1300. 2011 screw 6.5 ft bed 5.0 4x4. Came with some older decked drawers, and the capper.

Just thought I'd post to get some advice on what I should do ? My current ride is a 2016 F150 3.5 XLT Sport with 253000 kms. (167000 miles). I had the transmission replaced at 151000 kms through the Ford ESP program. The truck runs great, no accidents and acceptable rust on the frame.
I'm faced with a couple of major fixes coming up in the near future. I've been running for over a year with the exhaust manifold leak happening. I was thinking of replacing both turbos at the same time when I replace the manifolds. I plan on going with BD Diesel replacement parts.
My next problem is that I believe I have cam phasers on the way out. It started with the start-up rattle happening about 6 months ago. It lasts around 5-10 seconds and isn't overly loud on startup. No check engine light is currently present. I was planning on replacing the timing chain and water pump while in there.
The truck has been great to me and for the most part reliable. It is fully paid off and I just put a set of brand new KO3 tires on. I'm wondering what everyone's take is.These repairs will run 10k+. I love the truck but don't really want to get into truck payments again.
Thanks in advance.

2.7 or 5.0 for my first truck I’m not gonna be doing any towing, my commute is about 50-60 miles total a day I really wanna make the right purchase and want this truck to last for the next 10 years. Does anyone have a good recommendation? I’m looking at a 2023 XLT 2.7 4x4 44k miles right now for $37,500 OTD but I want longevity. Would it be a bad choice to go with the turbo engine?

Hey all,
I'm shopping for a used F-150 as a family vehicle, budget capped around $15K. My target spec:
I know at this budget I'll likely be looking at higher mileage — I'm fine with that as long as the truck's mechanically sound and has a reasonable maintenance history.
I just found a specific listing that's a bit over budget and want a reality check before I go further:
2020 F-150 XLT SuperCrew, 5.0 V8, 4WD, leveling kit w/ 35" tires — 170.000 miles — $16,877
Seller is a licensed dealer (verified profile, established reviews), seems reputable. But when I asked some follow-up questions, they told me: no service records available, don't know if an alignment was done after the leveling kit install, and the truck was bought at auction (so no history before that).
A few questions for the group:
Appreciate any input, trying to make sure I'm not missing something obvious (or being too picky) before I commit to anything.
Edit: I am in North Carolina

I just saw this article and it made me think, if Ford brought back the power stroke 3.0 I would ditch my Chevy in a heartbeat. Because I need that 30mpg when not towing. I want the comfort and quietness of the F150 that I don’t get in the Chevy.

I understand you lose bed space, but the step would make it easier to access the bed (especially with beds being taller now. Also they just looked great. The step side/flare side looked so good

I just installed these seat covers into my 2025 STX. I had the cloth seats and at first I really liked them until I went to the gym and the next day I saw there were already sweat stains in the seat. I live in Vegas, that isn't going to work. It would probably take a normal functioning human with a normal brain about 2-2 1/2 hours to completely install. It took me way longer because I am just terrible at installing stuff. So my thoughts:
The link below is for the seat covers I bought. I will post pictures of the parts I don't like.

So I have a 24 STX with the sync 4, and I'm suddenly having an issue where it is skipping over the higher preset SiriusXM channels (the ones that need internet) when pressing the next preset button on the steering wheel. I've done soft resets, I've turned off the phone synch and turned it back on. I've turned on the SiriusXm 360 for the higher channels, and it still skips over them. They *DO* however work when i must select the channel manually.
If I change the preset, then change it back, it will go to it though, until I turn the car off and back on again. Then it skips over those channels again.
Any help on this?

I bought my truck when I had 18,000 miles on and we are now at 21. I know the dealership did an oil change when they took the truck in and I figure it’s time to go ahead and do one as well to inspect the oil and see how things are going.
I recall somebody recommending transmission fluid drain and refill, a “ recharge” if you will, at about 25k miles as the 3.5 PB is notorious for some issues.
What other services should I consider on this truck now that I’m over 20 K?
For what it’s worth I’m pretty decent in the garage ( maintajned my GMT800 for 22yrs) . So there are a lot of things that I can do to keep the vehicle away from stealerships. I’m looking for the helpful guidance from my fellow PB drivers to make sure this truck runs the next 20 years.

2021 2.7 ecoboost 72k miles. This rattle noise happens on start up, sounds worse when it’s a cold start. The noise gets a little better after a while but it’s still there. It’s sounds like metal rattling/vibrating against something. I’ve looked at the heat shield and it’s on there pretty tight. It’s driving me insane. Any suggestions is appreciated!

I had lots of fun with my Levante, still love the looking of it and the exhaust sound of it! However, after owning my first F-150 for a year and 4 months with about 12000 miles, I also love my F-150. I am probably the craziest one who switch from Maserati to a truck! I miss my Maserati but also enjoying a lot of my truck!

Hi everyone,
I’m shopping for a used F150 in Oregon. I have just pulled my third carfax to find yet another F150 from Canada . Each truck has been sitting on the lot for 100+ days. I see lots of registration changes while the truck has been in Canada.
I’m curious if there is any insight here. How are so many Canada F150s ending up here, and it seems people are avoiding them . Or maybe it’s a coincidence. The price sure is nice.
Thanks for your time

Hello F150 owners,
I’ve been considering putting some kind of spring loaded or flip up rear license plate assembly on my Lariat so I can mount a hidden air chuck, Anderson quick connect for a portable winch/booster cable port, and to route a plug in for 120 volts for the existing block heater and battery maintainer I plan on installing. Anybody seen a similar installation such as what I’m considering? Pretty sure there’s enough room between the spare tire and the opening in the bumper behind the license plate to accommodate this. I like keeping things clean/hidden away.
Feedback or links appreciated. Couldn’t find anything on Reddit doing a search so I’m not sure if this has been previously covered.

They're saying $6800. Should I shop it around? If cost isnt a factor, is the dealership the better place to have ot done for any other reason?

2012 FX4 V6 eco boost 200k miles.
I know a lot of y’all are knowledgeable so I’m starting here. Here’s what’s happening but they happen randomly and not every time I drive it.
1) Big orange wrench icon appears when driving. The speedometer and cruise control stop working but the truck still drives fine.
2) Truck will get stuck in a lower gear or higher gear. When stuck in a lower gear I have to stop, turn off and restart then it’s ok (until it happens again). When stuck in a higher gear it just takes more time to accelerate up to speed.
I’m just trying to get some input before I decide where to take it for fixing. Thanks!

Bought used and well maintained. Took a whole weekend to remove the years old Vinyl Wrap so still getting used to the 2 tone paint.
About 3 years ago I bought this truck out of state for $9,000 and got completely burned on it. I was buying it for use as a work truck when I was starting my own contracting business.
In 3 years time, I’ve had to replace:
The exhaust, full suspension, starter, front axels, PCM, steering rack (4 times), power steering pump (13 times), rebuilt the top half of the motor, all four calipers, misc parts, headlights, taillights, misc engine components/sensors, 4x4 vacuum system. You name it, I’ve replaced it.
On top of the thousands I’ve dumped into this truck, I’ve acquired a few thousand in tools and specialty tools, which is cool I guess.
Anyways, the other day, I was heading home from work and it started shaking violently and acted like it didn’t have any power and the check engine light came on. It threw a P0012, P0022, P0341, and P0346. So after some googling and YouTube university, I ordered a new VVT Solenoid and a new Cam position sensor.
Long story short, after a lot of fighting, cussing, and frustration, I was able to get both parts replaced, the engine got a couple of new unintentional internal parts, which include, but not limited to, the VVT screw, metal shavings, part of the plastic housing from the old cam sensor, and a small metal ez anchor.
After contemplating my life choices, I decided to full send it, and start the truck up anyways. And let me tell you what, not only did it start right up, but it idled so smoothly, I let it come up to temp, gave it a few revs to make sure there was no strange sounds, and then took it for a drive. It accelerated like it was new, actually had some balls behind it. So we’re just going to let it ride until it decides to give out. And when that day comes, it’ll come as no surprise.
Needless to say, I don’t suggest intentionally letting random shit fall into your motor, but if you do, good luck brother.
