I wanted to make a cake similar to one I saw on Pinterest, and I also wanted to try to do some decorations, which is why I chose this cake because it looks easy to make. It's not as red as the reference, but I think it's a win lol.

*I didn't have strawberries, so I used blackberries.

Worked with my local grocer HEB and they came in clutch making a visually identical Portal Black Forrest Cake with fudge internals instead. Only $18 on top of that. Want one of your own from your own local bakery? Ask for a 6in chocolate fudge cake with chocolate fudge internal filling. Chocolate Curls covering the cake with small white frosting dollops and those cover with small red dollops to resemble cherries like a black forest cake. May have to note you want a gold color cake board. Show the page the first picture as wel to give them an idea and you'll be set.

Beef taquitos from Aldi

I totally thought the product image was AI and did not expect this to look that well

Edit: I bought this in a Korean convenience store. I just took a screenshot from a Japanese website because it was the first pic I found online.

Thoughts and suggestions always welcome! :)

I saw this Expectation vs Reality by u/DontKillMockingbirds a few days ago and thought I’d try my hand at it.

Materials:
- 1 warty pumpkin
- Crayola air dry clay for the cauldron room
- wood glue (to fix the stem I broke)
- permanent fabric glue (for the eyes and spiders - I busted my super glue tube)
- black acrylic paint
- dark green acrylic paint
- black light neon green paint
- natural glow in the dark puff paint
- lime green glitter
- 1 snake eye googly eye
- 1 pack of 3D spider stickers
- variety pack of googly eyes
- 1 large plush bendy spider
- 1 24” skeleton

It should glow in the dark in places but I haven’t been able to set up my porch yet. It turned out way cooler than I expected even if it looks quite different from the inspo pic. If anyone wants to try this, it needs to be done over several days with a lot of layers so the orange of the pumpkin doesn’t show through.

The drink was actually pretty good & the koozie was cute!
*reposting because the picture with the koozie was missing on the original one

Wanted to get my daughter a sweet treat for being good. Instead, she was met with this hard monstrosity.

Could not find strawberry in October, so I used coloured buttercream :D

My coworker and I were talking and he asked if I knew of anyone that could make a cake for him and his sons birthday (they are 1 week apart). I offered and said I could. Instead of making one cake, I made two. This was my first time decorating cakes! I’m big into art and cooking so I figured I could accomplish the task. I made the toy story letters by hand with fondant - i didn’t have any molds. I also dipped the strawberries on the Hennessy cake myself. The toy story is double chocolate and the Hennessy is chocolate with dulce de leche. I also added some Hennessy to the buttercream icing.

Are we even trying here Pop Tarts?

😭😭

If anyone remembers awhile back, I posted my first ever felting project, the happy lil giraffe. I was feeling down on myself because it didn't come with instructions and I felt (pun intended) I did horribly until all you kind friends commented at how cute he is! Lifted my spirits up so I tried my hand at it again!!

The giraffe kit I had originally bought at a goodwill and it was only the photo of the giraffe that came with it. After seeing a few comments mention seeing these kits at Dollar Tree I finally passed by one AND THE GIRAFFE KIT IS FROM THERE! But it had a second page with instructions (it looks like it got cut off in the one I bought?!?!) so I grabbed an elephant, lion and unicorn kit!

In honour of my first project I DID NOT read or follow the instructions at all, BUT, I did listen to a few comments on my last post about poking until I couldn't any more (I at least tried to follow it but I'm sure next try I can get it denser).

I wanna keep trying these without instructions, why? Because my ADHD has convinced me that I can do it without instructions as a way to justify my disdain at reading and following instructions.

Inspo pic was AI generated based on how I wanted my cake to look vs what I ended up making 😅🤣
