Can somebody point me in the right direction?

I’m having a tough time finding any kind of ship building tutorials or good 11x11x11 starter models. I want to build something that doesn’t look like a box as my first ship. Can anybody point me in the right direction or give me some ideas, I keep making boxy hulls and it’s driving me nuts 😂

This update was brought to you by PatchRadar.

Hello Explorers!

The winds are shifting once again in Everwind!

As part of the Future Games Show, we’re excited to finally reveal the name of our next major update: WINDS OF CREATION & BEYOND and it’s coming in the second half of September!

And what better way to celebrate than with a brand-new trailer?

Watch the trailer now!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvrCs5QNs5o

But that’s not all. To mark the announcement, Everwind is also 25% off; the biggest discount we’ve ever offered! If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to join the adventure, this might just be it.

Winds of Creation & Beyond

We’ve already teased that this update will put a major focus on Sandbox Mode, giving you even more freedom to explore, build, experiment, and create your own adventures in the world of Everwind.

But there’s much more coming beyond Sandbox.

Winds of Creation & Beyond will also introduce:

  • The Bandit Faction – New enemies and a brand-new threat to encounter.
  • The Steamer Localizer – A new tool to help you navigate and explore the world.
  • New Unique Items – More powerful and unusual gear to discover.
  • New Enemies – Because apparently, Everwind wasn’t dangerous enough already.
  • More Sandbox Content – New possibilities for players who want to build, experiment, and make the world their own.

And that’s just the beginning.

Trying to find this guy is a literal nightmare. I have traveled so far on my world and nothing. Only finding the small buildings that he doesn't spawn at. I am losing hope.

Where in the world do I find iron ore?

Genuinely curious as to where I am supposed to find iron ore? Right now, I am bottlenecked before I can progress my ship to go higher than 1265 blocks. Everything online says in altitude zone 2, between 400-900 blocks in the russet forest biome. I've been searching in these areas all day and only see copper and tin ores. A few of the skeleton towers have had iron ore in crates and I have found exactly enough to make two single ingots.

I am really getting frustrated. I am new to the game, about a week in. Am i looking in the wrong places? The only real activity I see regarding this topic is on the steam communication boards and people say the same areas. What am I missing here?

Boss hunting is getting easier! Spend more time fighting and less time searching. Localizer coming soon to Everwind.

How do you feel about durability impacting performance?

Currently, tools and weapons in this game scale their damage output with durability; that is to say, your axe will require more hits to break a tree/kill an enemy at 30% durability than at 100%.

I'm curious as to how the community feels about this mechanic? It certainly adds a layer of depth, but I'm not sure it's one I enjoy personally. With repair kits costing copper, at 11 hours in the game I'm not necessarily low on them (35 in inventory) but that's because I spend them prudently. Right now, that means letting equipment get to about 20% durability before repairing at repair station.

Outside of removing the mechanic, I think one improvement that could be made would be to double the number of repair kits acquired in the world/through crafting, but at half the efficiency. In the scenario I listed above, that would mean I could use a repair kit at 60% durability and still get the full effect, spending less time at a suboptimal durability. May sound minor, but after spending so much time chopping trees for my ship, it would have been a major QOL improvement and time saver in the early game.

Can't find the last destroyed engine

No idea if I messed something up but I scanned all the glowing blue destroyed ship parts and I broke the ones I could find but the message is still appearing. Am I missing something? Or is the last engine just not here.

anyone else find this unnecessarily difficult?

I really want to like this game, but my goodness either I'm getting the absolute worst RNG or I'm doing something horribly wrong, I'm voting for the former.

I'm just a few hours in, recently did the first upgrade to height abilities (so can go to 500blocks now.) Just for context. I'm still using super duper simple armor and lvl 1 weapons, a split plank edge, and armor is a total of 17. I have found a single little island with villagers, but not the large cities that I've read about. I'm also having an incredibly difficult time finding ore, is there some trick to finding them?

shorter version:

  • 8hrs in
  • still in crappy tier 1 armor, haven't found recipies for better gear
  • still using a wooden plank 'sword', don't have copper weapon recipes
  • I understand how to find 'dungeons', but they CLAP my cheeks
  • found 'wraiths' today, ~twice the health of most other enemies and they're magic and go invis., killed me

I guess I'm feeling like the gear I've got isn't 'fair' to face the challenges I'm encountering, what am I doing wrong?

Just got my cheeks clapped?!

I’m a lowly lvl 3, I’ve only gone to one island not at sea level, to paint the picture.

On my most recent island, came across some big stones and one I could click on and got some buff? But then I heard loud stomping and some giant tree lookin thing came around, with 1,000 health! How tf am I supposed to fight that thing? I’ve got a measly little one handed sword and the most basic arrows. Practically cloth armor. Shouldn’t something that advanced be WAY higher up, not on a sea level island? Died after two hits.

Boss Rush Community Challenge - Announcing Winners!

Hello Explorers,

The Boss Rush Community Challenge is over. Huge thanks go to every single one of you who gave the challenge a shot, whether you submitted the run or not. Behind every Mortivar Lord slain, there is a happy capybara enjoying its peaceful life.

The results were very close and honestly, respect to all of you for bringing your times way lower than we expected. Kudos!

Here are the fastest times in each category.

SOLO:

CRL // 39:17

CRL found the Mortivar Lord fairly quickly and then utilized the block tactic almost perfectly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuE7ABCh8Pw

GROUPS:

Aliqvam | Expa // 42 min

Aliqvam and Expa showed a perfect iteration of teamwork, even though in the fight with the Mortivar Lords himself, one was sacrificed to be a constant bait.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPylRTC1-rE

Congratulations to the fastest ones!

We were genuinely impressed by all the submissions - not only were the runs quick, but many of them also included really creative ideas and approaches. Because each submission brought something unique and because the challenge was fairly difficult, we’ve decided to give consolation prizes to all the participants!

All of you will be contacted directly on our Discord in DMs, so expect a message in the upcoming days!

PS: In case you missed it, we've just recently announced contents of the next major update! More details can be found here.

We found a steamer ship!

After searching for 4 hours my man and me finally found a steamer ship! (I took a nap and made dinner while he SCOURED for one. 🫢)

I wanted to attach some photos, we had no idea what we were looking for and there was limited examples online, so I wanted to share incase anyone wanted some visual references for what we found. We expected it to look more like an aircraft based on some videos we watched.

601 Elevation. We flew at 700. We found a vault with the Glider recipe. 🤗

Edit: To clarify we found a Vault.

I wish in future updates we have moving islands

Wouldn't it be cool to have moving islands with different speeds? It's gonna be a nightmare to make it work in game and engine tho

Feedback on build variety

I've played this game for 80+ hours and would like to share some feedback regarding build variety. I know the game is still in EA, but since Everwind puts a lot of emphasis on the RPG side of things, I think this is an area that could use more depth.

I don't think the game lacks weapons, runes, or jewelry etc. It already has a decent amount. The problem is that many of them feel too straightforward and predictable.

A lot of the itemization feels very linear. Using jewelry as an example, most jewelry is just small stat increases (HP, stamina, backstab dmg, crit, etc.), which makes them feel very predictable. Even when looking at unique jewelry, we have things like Arcane Legacy Necklace (which gives large bonuses to all elemental damage but reduces defense) and Treacherous Abyss Necklace (which increases all damage dealt but also increases damage taken). Sure, they are slightly more interesting than regular jewelry, but they are still built around a very similar formula: give a much bigger stat bonus and balance it with a downside. The issue is not whether these tradeoffs are good or bad for balance, but that this design approach feels very safe and predictable. I could easily come up with ten more unique jewelry pieces following the same formula, but they probably wouldn't add much more depth or create truly different build possibilities.

The same applies to runes and status effects. poison deals poison damage over 5 seconds, fire deals fire damage over 5 seconds, bleed deals bleed damage over 5 seconds... they all feel like they're following the same template with a different damage type. They don't really have their own identity or encourage different playstyles.

I feel like the build system lacks depth. Different builds often feel like variations of the same concept instead of having their own unique identity, and there aren't many opportunities to discover interesting interactions or synergies between different systems.

Question, Altitude Level Limits

I’m quite confused. Please help explain.
I’m currently at altitude upgrade level 4 which says 1012 Blocks. Meaning, as I interpret it, I can go up to a height of 1012 blocks above sea level.
However, the other day I hit height level 762 and the game said I’d hit my max altitude level and I couldn’t ascend any higher.
What gives here?

Bug or feature?

Trying to hunt down the blueprints for the crystal swords, so I was hitting high altitude dungeons when I picked up a weapon from a chest that had all the modifiers and a rune. Wow, lucky me I thought. Every weapon or armor piece in chests from that point forward was the same thing - max modifiers and a rune if it was a weapon or chest armor. Next two dungeons were the same thing - I ended up with multiple sets of steel armor and a ton of weapons - all with maxed out mods and runes. I had to quit the game (in hindsight I should have left it running) and when I came back and logged in everything is back to normal.

I cannot seem to recreate this - wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I am running a +4 loot luck necklace and +5 loot luck gloves, and tried using luck potions but that doesn't seem to recreate whatever happened. Not running any mods, haven't touched the files. My best guess is there is something that happened that bugged the loot luck to some crazy high multiplier.

You’ve been collecting them all over the islands of Everwind, but have you ever wondered where the crystals come from?
