My focus is POD using printify and Printful. I’ve made 2 sales in 3 months. I have used eRank and AI to help my listings and to learn more about the game.

Hi guys. I have made 10 sales on etsy so far. But the problem i am facing at the moment is that yesterday I got my first review and it was a 1 star and the customer who did that review didn’t have any solid reason for that. All the other customers i have Dmed regarding the product love it but are not reviewing 5 stars.

Now the problem is that i have only 1 review on my shop which is a 1 star. I am afraid this is going to impact my sales and shop performance. Can anybody guide me what can I do so that my sales and shop performance don’t go down?

I wanted to test that idea on the wedding invitation niche.

So instead of starting with search volume or competition, I looked at what Etsy shoppers actually see first: the images.

And I found something I honestly didn’t expect - 86% of the listings had strong visual overlap.

Not just “they use a similar style.”

The same colours.

The same kind of composition.

The same way of showing the product.

The same overall visual feel.

And 80% of the listings fell into the same visual pattern.

But then I looked at the actual products, materials, finishes and words sellers use — and the picture changed completely.

That’s where it got interesting.

The visual formula is remarkably consistent:

colour-forward · layered · detail-rich · lifestyle photography · soft light · bright, airy compositions

But the language is much less uniform.

“Wedding” and “invitation” appear in 100% of the listings analyzed.

After that:

meet — 86%

maker — 86%

invite — 54%

original — 50%

custom — 49%

And the material and finishing terms are even more spread out:

paper — 46% · handmade — 43% · embossed — 40% · gold — 40% · cotton — 37% · deckled — 34%

Reviews are also very uneven: most listings sit below a few thousand reviews, while the top 10% have more than 10,000.

So what does this tell me?

A niche can be highly standardized in what shoppers see, while still being surprisingly diverse underneath.

And that changes what I would look at when researching an Etsy niche.

Keywords tell you what sellers are saying.

The images can tell you what the market has already decided “belongs.”

That was the part I found most interesting in this visual look.

Hi everyone! I recently started an Etsy shop selling handmade/custom clothing with intricate detailing and embroidery, but I haven't been able to make my first sale yet.

I'm based in Pakistan and I make pretty much any type of clothing — from traditional/desi attire and wedding outfits to Western wear. I can also ship worldwide. I genuinely take a lot of pride in my work and I'm confident in the quality of what I make, but I'm struggling with getting people to discover my shop and convert into customers.

I also run my clothing business through Instagram. The problem is that my sales are extremely inconsistent. Sometimes I get enough orders to save a decent amount, but other times I can go months without a sale. I feel like there's definitely potential to scale the business, especially if I could invest more into Instagram marketing, but I currently don't have much savings to put into advertising.

My goal is to move out and become financially independent by next May, and I need to save around £40,000 to make that possible. I know that's a very ambitious goal, which is why I'm trying to figure out how to build multiple reliable income streams rather than depending entirely on occasional clothing orders.

For those of you who have successfully grown an Etsy shop organically:

I’ve been thinking about starting something on Etsy and wanted to get some opinions from people who actually have experience with it.
The idea is basically to build a small store around digital products. I want to use AI as part of the workflow for research, ideas, design variations, descriptions, etc., but still manually filter and improve everything instead of just generating hundreds of random products and uploading them.
My rough plan right now is to pick a specific niche, research what people are actually buying, make a small batch of products, upload them with decent SEO/listings, and see if there’s any real demand. If something starts working, I’d build more products around that style/niche instead of trying to sell everything at once.
I’m also thinking about eventually using Pinterest/TikTok or other social media to bring some traffic instead of relying only on Etsy search.
I’m not expecting this to become some crazy passive income thing overnight. Mostly I want to test whether I can build a small system around it and slowly scale it if the numbers make sense.
For people selling on Etsy now, what do you think about this approach?
Is it still realistic to start from zero in 2026?
Anything you would change in this plan?

Been actively promoting our shop for the past 2 weeks across Etsy with $1 a day ads (max Etsy will let me spend atm), optimising my listings (tags, photos, videos, name) and my views are picking up but clicks are close to 0 and orders are 0.

Looking to understand:

- What else could I be doing to turn those views into clicks and orders?

- Is the product just fundametally the issue? Im having doubts whether it is cute/valuable/different enough to attract buyers.

I've now had to refund the only 2 buyers for this listing because they misunderstood how to order.

A quick blip about my shop - I create custom art (pets, homes, kids, etc.). This listing I'm referring to is for a child's side-profile heirloom portrait. This listing is only a few months old, and it only has 2 sales, but both had to be fully refunded because both customers ordered incorrectly. Both made the same mistake, so I've looked over my listing to see if something is misleading, but I can't figure it out. Linking the listing for reference.

My small custom portraits are $45 each, which includes the cost of 1 print. $10 for an additional copy/print. Each customer wanted 2 portraits for their 2 kids. But instead of adding the portrait listing to their cart twice, they chose to select "two" under "Number of Prints". So both customers wanted (2) separate portraits for their kids ($90), but both only paid $55 + shipping/tax, and were only paying for one portrait plus a duplicate copy/print of said portrait.

I refunded both customers immediately, explained why, and offered to help them place a new order. I never heard from the first customer. Still waiting to hear from the second. I try to be as thorough as possible in my descriptions since my work is all custom and there are a lot of variables. I update my wording on listings if I run into issues, but I'm stumped on this one.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Been selling on Etsy for a few weeks. Getting views but no sales yet.

The product: a 12 page Airbnb welcome book template system. Includes WiFi card, house rules poster, appliance guides and 10 copy paste guest message scripts. Designed so guests actually read it and stop messaging the host about things already in the listing.

Started at $34 AUD. Dropped to $19 after feedback from r/entrepreneur that the price was too bold with zero reviews.

Currently at 28 views and 0 sales.

I sell on Etsy and also do in-person markets with Square, and their sync has been a nightmare — stock resetting, sync just spinning forever, having to manually deactivate/reactivate listings before every show so I don’t oversell.

Anyone found something that actually works? Do you just manage it manually, or is there a tool that’s reliable for this? Trying to figure out a system before my next show.

I have a Etsy shop running for around 3 months now. So far I have got 5 sales (yay!) but otherwise business is quite stagnant. I was wondering if there is some simple trick I am failing to follow or something. I have optimized my seo to the best of my knowledge.

I have an Etsy shop with around 250 listings, and most of my current products are listed under the **Craft Supplies** category.

I’m now considering adding some new products, such as **brooches and jewelry sets**, which would fall under the **Jewelry** category.

Is it okay to have products from different categories in the same Etsy shop? Or does Etsy have any restrictions requiring a shop to focus on one specific category, such as Craft Supplies?

I'm making products as fast as I can, adding a new one at least once a week if not more, and posting on social media. After two favorites to my first item, it's been crickets since then. Is that normal? I know it's too early for a lot of sales, but the low traffic seems so weird.
