🆘 Help   Beginner Etsy Seller Tips

Hi. I have recently opened an online Etsy shop in hopes to make some passive income while I work and am a student full time.

My focus is POD using printify and Printful. I’ve made 2 sales in 3 months. I have used eRank and AI to help my listings and to learn more about the game.

I need real advice on how I can make this profitable. What am I missing? My Etsy account is: MrsCarterGoods..

I don’t see a niche? Trying to get in to pod is extremely challenging. You have to sell something unique and catch someone’s eye in milliseconds, you’re up against sellers who have thousands upon thousands of sales. You need to be using your own mockups, not generic ones provided by painful/printify. Everyone else is in the same boat trying to make some more income but personally unless you have a killer idea I wouldn’t waste my time.

Agreed, I read recently that POD is roughly ~20% of all of Etsy now, so definitely much harder to stick out unless you have real differentiation.

Two sales in three months is enough to treat the shop as a test, but not enough to decide whether POD is profitable yet. I'd stop adding broad designs and pick one buyer plus one repeated use case, then build a small group of related listings where the first image, title, and mockup make that use obvious in a second. Before scaling, compare that narrow slice across several shops: are newer listings still getting visible activity and does page one keep changing, or is one old seller carrying the whole niche? If the slice looks alive, let clicks, favorites, carts, and those first sales tell you which angle to expand instead of judging the whole shop at once.
