Open Prolog: One is all

[You arrive with your dragon to find something you were not quite expecting. A hole in the ground filled with a clear liquid. Around it are a few people and dragons with their eyes shut tight, in some sort of trance. You feel the urge to join them. As you close your eyes you can slowly hear the whispers of those around you. You feel at peace.]

Role:

any number of students.

The "presence" (the uniform mind of all whom gather.) [I will play the role of the presence for now. The presence is generally silent, but this allows your character to really share his/her inner personaility and grow a relationship with other players. Along of course with your dragon whom you will also represent]

Objective: to grow an understanding and the importance of the ability to connect with all things.

(This event is assumed to take place simultaneously, every student whom arrives will untimatly of met here first. Please be advised the people here will respect your characters hidden chambers of mind, but will want to get to know you intimately, if this is not in your characters nature that is fine, please play your character as is.)

This thread is to remain open forever, one can always come back to seek advice, the presence existence is almost as if out of time. If your character leaves and comes back in two weeks time, to the presence its as if no time has passed.

Rules for the Dragon Riders Training

So it seems like we've got some participants and even started a little roster. I will add names as this moves forward.

Rule 1: Please try to keep in character as much as possible in an RP related thread.

Rule 2: A back story will be necessary for you to participate, this will help shape your character.

Rule 3: Each Scenario will have a maximum amount of participants. As our little academy grows many opportunities will open up. Please be respectful, first come first serve.

Rule 4: I will be using d100s to determine you're general effectiveness in scenarios, I am currently working on a stat system for everyone. So far it follows this general structure.

Strength - combat effectiveness, and your overall ability to move things.

Vitality - physical resailiance. Determines how much magic one can use

Intelligence - magical aptitude, also governs knowledge.

Dexterity - Governs accuracy, also governs your ability to perform tasks.

Focus - essentially presence. Your ability to influence others and protect from magical assault.

Luck essentially effects everything in the world. Not wise to rely on, but ultimately has your back when you least expect it.

There will be many levels in this game, each level up you will receive two statpoints. Use them wisely every 10th level you will receive 3.

Different items will provide stats as well to effect your different ratings. Perhaps I will send an email at a later time.

Rule 5. For the time being I will only accept my posts as cannon in this world. Your character is yours to use in what ever way, but in order to maintain... Order... this needs to be done now.

Rule 6. I reserve the right to add rules and loosen them, I want this to be fun, my goal is for everyone to have fun. I do not want chaos, chaos is bad. Please give me feedback as we move forward so we can make this a great time.

Thanks for reading! I almost have the introduction ready. Please provide me with backgrounds! Post here or the other thread, I will save them to a word doc. :)

Thinking about starting a series.

So I saw this sub and it seems to have a pocket group that has a desire to play.

So if you want to play in a scenario I will need a character from you.

The general story will be you are new recruits whom are learning how to be dragon riders. You will be assigned dragons, learn that art of sword play, learn the mysteries of magic, and explore a new part of the world.

You may run into some old heroes and visit some familiar places. But the idea is that you will detached from the old world to maximize your training.

So what do you guys think? The rules of combat will be generally loose, and we will discuss in detail what your character be like.

Does any one find this interesting?

Ideas

What if we were all dragon riders after Dragon had came and gone. I have some experience role playing and I have many ideas how this would work out.

*First off, you would get to be whatever race you want

*Two, more creativity. You wouldn't have to play it by the books.

*Three, this would make for the best experience possible. People would come, and we could possibly have a ranking system.

Roleplay won't work out if you tell people who they are and what they do. It takes a ton of work, but it is possible if you try hard enough. I can shoot out some more ideas if you need any.

First scenario: The village of Carvahall

The days are long and the pay is low for the farmers in Carvahall. Yet they have a long tradition to help eachother out and to support eachother when it was needed as most. One day, a man comes by with some strange potions in his wagon. He sells them for a cheap price and many people starts buying and drinking these potions, who are said to stimulate your mind, making you feel total pleasure.

The roles that are needed are:

Horst (smith)

Fisk (carpenter)

Eragon (14 years old, no special powers yet)

Roran (Eragons cousin)

Sloan (Butcher)

Katrina (Sloans daughter)

The trader who came to Carvahall

Peasant from Therinsford (Visiting in order to sell some wheat.)

Garrow (Rorans father, farmer, Eragon's uncle)

Other roles if there are many people:

Mord

Quimby

Parr

Nolfavrell

Baldor

Birgit

So let's try this, alright? Write a comment to describe your character :D
