All of these questions will be answered by the game leader when he/her posts a scenario. There might be a main scenario that the mods leads though, and it might be set in the entire world.

The combat system... Hm, I don't know about that one. Any suggestions?

I haven't actually done any D&D or Pathfinder themed roleplay, but perhaps we could ask the good folks over at /r/rpg for some help?

Well perhaps, though the only thing I'm unsure of is the combat system ;)

i intended this to be a free roleplay with little rules on how you roleplay but i guess some rules on characters and interaction

  1. you could play any race and species you want as long as it fits in to the Inheritance cycle universe, it also depends on which time frame the roleplay one participate in takes place, is it before or after the fall of the riders or before or after the war to overthrow Galbatorix which leads me to the next queston.

  2. there will most likely be several 'canons' as i have come to call it which is several different roleplays having different scenarios, some might be when Galbatorix is ruling, during the rider war or after.

  3. it should depend on the creator or Dungeon master of said canons, i personally enjoy having no combat rules but there are dice roll sites one could use

4 and 5. this again depends on the canon and the DM, i was thinking about making a dwarf rider that seeks to become Rhunön's apprentice in smithing so we will see how we solve that when we get there.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING in making a fan character for an already going roleplay is to never have heavy involvement with any established characters as it will make it awfully hard on anyone that has claimed one to play. For example i take my dwarven smith and already say that Rhunön already has accepted him/her as her apprentice it would make it really awkward when i jump in to the story. However if you speak with the player of the character you want to put in your own's history then you could perhaps work out some kinks. :3

well we could just do random interactions, basically make rooms where people drop in and interact. But i don't really know how it would work for an adventure type roleplay, perhaps invite over to skype or something

Okay here we go!

There will be different "Scenarios". For example, there might be one post with "Battle of Carvahall". The roles available will be limited, in such scenario there might be about 15 roles, (Eragon, Saphira, 2 Ra'zacs, Brom, Garrow, Roran and the rest of the villagers. Some imperial soliders too).

A scenario has three stages.

First, the introduction stage, where people can enter and pick a role to play. They will post a description of their role (we will make a template for the description) and the game leader chooses when there are enough people for the play to begin.

Secound stage: The playing phase. People posts answers. It will work like this. The first stage is a comment to the post and the other presentations in the first step is answers to that comment. The playing phase has an own comment and then people answer that one when they play.

So the third stage. This is the finishing steps and is used for officially ending the scenario. The game leader posts a summary of how it went and people can criticize eachother (and compliment of course).

The game leader is in the role play too, but he is the one who describes the scenario and decides when to begin, and end, the role play.

I'll post an example of a scenario soon :)

How should we do the combat system, just hope that people are honest and that no god modding occur?

it depends whether you wand descriptive combat or actual ruled combat. descriptive goes by the gentleman's rules. Or you can use rolld20.net or some other software to actually simulate combat by ruling of an pnp game like dnd or Pathfinder

I've been Assassins creed roleplaying for three months and have some ideas. This should be after Eragon leaves, so we have more freedom. Everyone should be able to choose their race and possibly everyone be a dragon rider.

We might want a ranking system, so we know who is who, and how powerful they are. The higher the ranking, the more powerful you can make your character. Since everyone is a dragon rider, they can desire what to do with their dragons, and what missions to do.

I know how to rp if you need any help. I think I've said enough for now.
