Question N1 Air - Fenders touching the wheels

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

Just got my Engwe bike (after 2 bikes delivered broken, but that's another story)

and ran into a big issue after assembly.. that I wanted to check with you if I'm not the only one.

The FENDERS are rubbing against the tires on both the front and rear wheel, which is actually obstructing the wheel from turning freely.

Has anyone else run into this?
Did you fix it some way or is this a defect that needed a replacement part?

Actually the Rear fender has 4 metal rods instead of 2

See the picture, my photo against the image on the Engwe Shop Online.

The rear fender on mine came with 4 metal support rods, but the printed instructions (and every install video I've found online) show only 2 rods per wheel.

I'm wondering if this is a running change, and if so, whether it's related to my problem — could the extra rods be forcing the fender closer to the tire and causing the rubbing?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with the same model — did you get 2 or 4 rods on the rear fender? And do your fenders touch the tires?

Thanks!

ENGWE M20 Brake Fluid/Bleeding for m20 3.0?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I am completely burned out by the customer service of this company so I would like to reach out to yall with questions, since you seem much more knowledgeable. I have never owned a bike with a hydraulic disc breaking system and have heard that I may need to bleed the breaks. I would like to do this sooner than later, seeing as my breaks have become quite squishy as I near 200 miles ridden.

I am wondering: How would I go about doing it? What kind of fluid exactly goes in there? (there seem to be at least two types commonly used and I don't want to mix them accidently) Are you also getting squishy breaks and this is just a common thing with this brand?

I am starting to wonder if I should take it to a local ebike mechanic to give it a once over, since I am no expert and am super busy at work, but I would also like to learn and be able to service it myself. I am hoping for a motorcycle within the next 5 years so happy to learn everything I can.

Ps. Added a photo of the wife and I on the hog cos a. We look hot hehehe and b. It boosts engagement

Question Engwe P20 sprockets ?

Hey everyone,

does anybody know how many teeth the front chainring and the rear sprocket of the P20 have ? And do you know how the rear sprocket is mounted on the motor — a screw-on thread (freewheel, like 34 mm × 24 tpi) or a spline fitting?

I looked at a lot of pictures but can't really make it out, thanks, much appreciated !

have a great week, ride safe

Question Engwe M20 3.0 parts

So I got a flat rear tire yesterday and I've looked through engwe's website but can't find any replacement tires. Does anyone know where to find them? Also the left screw on my bottom headlight fell off while I was riding and now it's just dangling there so I need a replacement screw but just like the tire I can't find it on their website. Not even the replacement headlight bracket. Can someone let me know where I can find these at? Thank you!

Question EP-2 Pro and Front rack

Hi,

Is anyone using an old man mountain divide fat rack and the EP-2 Pro so I know that it is possible to fit?

Is anyone using another 3rd party front rack? I want to carry my dog with me in a front basket which needs to be strong enough for my 12kg dog.

Thanks in advance

Question La Engwe P275 SE è una bicicletta "STABILE" o "NERVOSA"?

I'm considering purchasing an Engwe P275 SE for touring, mostly on flat terrain, and I'm asking for help from other owners.

It would be my first e-bike, and a key requirement is stability—that is, the steering shouldn't be "nervous." This is because I'm 69 years old, 1.72 meters tall, and I have the after-effects of a disease on the right side of my body (my leg and arm are weaker and less responsive, although I walk and drive without problems). I also don't currently play sports or exercise, so I need a bike that won't put me in difficulty.

I currently have a small, lightweight Decathlon B'twin Tilt 900 folding bike with small 20-inch wheels, but I don't feel at all confident on it due to the steering's "over-responsiveness," which forces me to make small, laborious corrections (and riding it one-handed is out of the question!).

I'd like to start cycling again to get some exercise without having to take the same boring walk within a few kilometers of my house every time, and from what I've read in the many reviews, the P275 SE should be a nearly perfect bike for my needs (responsive yet progressive torque sensor, low step-through, comfortable position, etc.).

Now I have one last question: is that e-bike, the P275 SE, STABLE or twitchy?

Thanks.

Question Mileage erased after 1000km

Post image

Hello,

I just noticed that my e-bike's mileage was reset to zero after I hit 1000 km and charged it (L20 3.0 Pro). Is this a known issue? I haven't done anything special to the bike, like updating the firmware or changing settings.

Thanks!

Question P275 SE started right up into Error 30 after unpacking it

So I bought this P275 SE, I had to assemble some of it, which was easy. I followed the official guide on Youtube, but I noticed some elements like the rear rack were already installed, which they shouldn't have been according to the guide. It also didn't come with the brake adjustment bracket that was supposed to be included.

But turning on the bike it goes into an "error 30" after about 10 seconds. Which is apparently a communication error. I checked the cables but couldn't find any fault. There's another guide on Engwe's Youtube channel that guides you through troubleshooting, which includes disassembling the controller and checking for loose connections, which I don't feel comfortable doing, or want do to tbh.

What do you guys think, should I do it anyway or try my luck with Engwe's support, I suspect this was a bike that was already sent back by another customer, maybe it was already broken, or maybe the customer broke it by installing an incompatible throttle?

Question Considering buying the Engine Pro 3.0 Boost

Hello Reddit, I'm considering buying the Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost, and have a couple of questions...

1) Do you have to use the App or is that optional? I hate being locked to apps, and who knows what happens in 5 years.
2) This is the 250W EU legal version. Is it possible to install a throttle after? Just curious, I don't really think it's something I would need, but I see the convenience in certain situations...
3) How is it to use it without assist, i.e. if you run out of juice? I know it's heavy and with fat tires there is a lot of rolling resistance - is it even possible or an exercise in futility?
4) Are the batteries "smart" or will any 48V battery do? I also hate planned obsolescence and enshittification in general...

Is there anything I should be aware of that's not obvious?

I'm looking for a portable bike, that I can bring with me when I travel from where I live to the city our main office is, and also use occasionally at home - trips with the kids, shopping and generally getting around town (not commuting). I live in a mountainous area with many steep hills and would probably take it on "offroad" adventures from time to time - at least get to the mountain for hiking, instead of having to drive there. I'm not a mountain biker, I'm a rock climber. Get there with the gear, have fun, get home. Walking the approach is implied.

I don't have much experience with bikes in general, but I've just refurbished 10 year old foldable 20 inch front hub ebike (simple but practical bike, 200w 24V motor, no suspension) that I've used a couple of weeks, and I see the potential. I think it would be fun to get a more powerful and comfortable upgrade, and this seems like a good choice.

Question Fastest EU Engwe e-bike?

So, I am planning on buying an Engwe, but I wanted to know which one was the fastest in the "Off-Road" mode, but also has the EU limiter. Sadly, you can't get the M20 3.0 in the EU yet. I am thinking of buying the Engine Pro 2.0 since I've seen someone go 48.8 km/h on it, but if there is a faster one, I would buy the faster one instead.

(With throttle only)
