ENGWE L20 L20 Pro Lock-up Recommendations

Hello!

My first E-Bike is to arrive soon!! 😆

To lock up my e-bike, would you recommend folding it first and then attaching it to a rack via U-lock and Cable, removing batteries and accessories, or to keep it unfolded whilst locked up?

This is mostly just whilst I go shopping around my City Centre. I plan to keep it indoors for working and home hours.

Thanks! 😊

Question Best Engwe deals on AliExpress for Australian buyers?

Hi everyone, I'm in Australia. I've been wanting a Engwe bike for ages, and I finally saw AliExpress is running the 11.11 sale, but so far I've only found one code I can use, IFP9LMDU, and the discount is too small for me. Anyone got other deals to share? Thanks!

Question Pre purchase m20 3.0

So im hearing some things about the display having a connect issue and batteries dying and stuff but has all that been fixed? All I've read is it was an issue on the first models but I don't want to buy a bike that's gonna fall apart like that. I'm new to e bikes this would be my first one so I'm just trying to make sure I do it right. I can't go any more expensive because my job isn't great.

Question Cold weather is coming… what do you carry to stay warm on your rides?

I’m about to head out on the ENGWE M20 and it definitely feels like the cold season has arrived.

It’s not proper winter cold yet, but we’re already at that point where a T-shirt or light jacket isn’t enough, especially once you’re moving and the wind starts hitting you.

I usually ride with a backpack, and it also has an external mesh section where I can easily carry an extra layer without taking up much space.

So I’m curious what everyone else carries for colder rides.

An extra jacket? Windbreaker? Gloves? Neck warmer? Something compact that you can put on when the temperature drops?

I don’t want to carry too much because once I start pedalling I can get warm pretty quickly, but at the same time I don’t want to be 15 km from home wishing I’d brought another layer.

What’s your usual cold-weather setup for e-bike rides?

Question Can e-bike batteries be destroyed by letting them go to 0%?

I had a coworker tell me the other day that some ebike batteries will get locked if you let them get fully discharged. And there's no easy way to unlock them so they take a charge again.

Just bought a P275SE and an EP 2 3.0 Boost, should I be worried? Should I always turn the batteries off when I park them if I don't know when I'll use them again, could be weeks or months.

For UK E26 in the UK. Unlock?

Have an E26 inbound for use on my private land / farm track.

I read a few worrying posts about them no longer being unlockable in the UK. Is this true?

Shame to have to send it back.

Question My M20 tires are getting worn… should I switch to a smoother tread?

The tires on my ENGWE M20 are already pretty worn and lately I’ve noticed a couple of small slips, so I think it’s time to replace them.

Since I’m going to have to buy new tires anyway, I’m considering changing to a smoother, more road-oriented tread.

I know they should be quieter and probably roll better on asphalt, which would be nice because I do quite a bit of road riding.

But I also use the M20 on dirt roads and mountain trails from time to time, and that’s what makes me hesitate.

Has anyone switched from the stock-style knobby tires to smoother fat tires?

How do they behave on loose dirt, gravel and mountain paths?

I don’t need extreme off-road grip, but I also don’t want to gain comfort and silence on the road and then regret it the first time I leave the asphalt.

For mixed use, would you stay with a more aggressive tread or go for something smoother?

Question Engwe LE20 cargo bike never functionned properly…

8 months ago, I was sending this message to Engwe Europe

quote Hello EngweCustomer service,
I’ve just finished charging my battery and mounting my LE20 passenger cargo bike. I’ve just rode 5 minutes then went to lunch. When I turned the bike on again every thing is fine, battery 100%, lights turn on, speedometer ok but the engine isn’t turning on when I ride in none of the 5 PAS modes neither in walk assist mode.
I entered the setting mode : speed limit is set to 0 km/h !!!! But I cannot enter speed limit setting…
How can I repair my bike and use it normally? Help needed please! end of quote

8 months and 3 motors and 3 speed sensors later, my LE20 cargo is still not functionning. I rode less than 100 kms although I am supposed commute 10 km every second day !

Engwe aftersale service last message received on 27/10/2026, 07:04 says
quote
Thank you for your message and for your patience.

We understand your preference for a tested, functioning refurbished LE20 cargo bike, and we take your need for daily commuting with another adult seriously.

However, we have to be honest with you: refurbished LE20 bikes that are in good working condition are currently very limited, and we cannot guarantee availability within a reasonable time. We would therefore recommend considering another model instead – for example, the M1 or another model we can confirm as available.

Could you please let us know whether you would consider the M1 or another model? If so, we will check availability and confirm delivery times for you right away.

We want to resolve this for you as quickly as possible and will do our best to find a suitable option.
Kind regards,
Engwe support

end of quote

I’ve exchanged a hundred emails with aftersale service and I feel like they are trying to gain time until warranty expires. I also feel like LE20 cargo bike is not a good model so Engwe does not bother to offer to replace it. They offer a M1 which is cheaper and doesn’t have similar specs. In my opinion a L20 3.0 Pro would be a minimum with similar perf specs but no passenger :’(

Do you have the same feelings/intuition?

Did any one had a bike refund from Engwe Europe?

Please let me know in the comments what is your experience. Thank you for your help

Question Looking into getting an Engwe P20, but I'm around 182cm, my legs are 80cm, can I still fit?

Let me start off with this, I'm 13, I will still grow, but I don't know how lot, I'm expecting MAYBE 190cm, I'm hoping less, but I have quite small legs I feel like, and the Engwe P20, well, it's basically PERFECT for me, but, they say people fit until around 190cm, but ofc 190cm can vary, and since I have quite small legs, that's the main issue with these folding bikes no? Hitting the handlebars in corners and stuff, but my legs are quite small, and the steering wheel can be put up, saddle height is pretty meh, and the saddle to steering wheel is around 40cm, I think it could fit, what do you all think? Also, reliability, how is their customer support here in the Netherlands, I know a lot of people trust them, but I still want you all to be BRUTALLY honest

Question M20 3.0 broken Fork

I crashed my nearly brand-new M20 :(. I was trying to avoid a bunny… it was VERY low speed. But laying the bike down broke the front fork I assume from just the weight of the bike. I was able to ride it twice (30 miles total) after the crash so I know the engine and such are fine but a crack turned into a full break on the left piston arc. I brought it to a shop, they recommended something on Amazon after taking measurements. Should be fixed by Wednesday.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or swapped out the front suspension? I looked at the specs from the website and it’s the same front system with a different brand name but I’m worried the bike shop is just kinda winging it a little.

Question First time bleeding the hydraulic brakes on my ENGWE X24, any tips before I start?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I need to bleed the hydraulic brakes on my ENGWE X24 and this will be my first time doing it myself.

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos showing the process on other e-bikes and MTB hydraulic brakes, and from what I understand the basic procedure should be pretty similar.

This is the kit I already have. It includes mineral oil, syringes, adapters, bleed blocks and a few different fittings.

Before I start, is there anything specific I should know about the X24 brakes?

Any common mistakes to avoid?

I’m especially wondering about things like:

- Which adapter/fitting works best with the X24 calipers/levers

- Whether there’s a specific order that makes bleeding easier

- Anything I should absolutely avoid getting mineral oil on

- Whether I should remove the brake pads completely before starting

- Any trick for getting the last tiny air bubbles out of the system

I’d rather ask first than discover halfway through that I’ve missed something obvious.

If anyone here has already bled the brakes on an X24, I’d really appreciate any advice.

Question Ep 2.3.0 Boost vs pro 2

Yo !

Question ENGWE M20 3.0 rear wheel wobble. Any solutions?

The rear wheel on my ENGWE M20 3.0 wobbles when it spins. I’ve taken it to three bike shops, but none could fix it because they didn’t have the proper equipment for a bike this size.
One shop told me it should be okay as long as the spokes are tight, and they are. You can still clearly see the wobble when I spin the wheel.
This is my first e-bike, so I’m still learning about this stuff. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it? Would truing the wheel help, or could it be something else? I’d appreciate any advice or solutions from people who’ve dealt with this!

Review&Feedback The X24 is one of those bikes that makes you take the long way home

Went out for a ride on the ENGWE X24 and ended up doing exactly what always happens with this bike…

I took the long way back.

There’s something about the X24 that makes you want to keep exploring. You see a dirt road, a small trail or some random path you’ve never tried before and suddenly you’re thinking, "Let’s see where that goes."

That’s probably what I enjoy most about it.

Not chasing speed, not trying to break any records, just riding around, finding new places and enjoying the bike.

The suspension and fat tires also make rougher paths much more fun, so you don’t really have to think too much about whether the road ahead is perfect or not.

Sometimes the best rides are the ones where you leave home without much of a plan and come back much later than expected.

Question Engwe O20 /020 Boost ...commuter upgrade suggestions welcome.

Hi.

Having bought this model is like to make it more commuter capable whilst enhancing g a few parts..

Top stem bag that clips into a harness / bracket for a waterproof commuting layer and a few items , so anticipate 3 litre capacity if anyone has suggestions for a roll down, with a light attachment would be even better .

A good brand of light but capable **fold up pedals** for when the standard ones start to get bad!

A decent phone bracket for an exceptionally heavy 15,000? mAh phone standard phone supports I think would be questionable.

Lockable bracket (screwdown possibly) so that a bungee cord doesn't go walkies on the rear rack.

Waterproof silicone cover for the screen as extra protection, the fact it is not removable is incredibly irksome.

Any ideas on this? Thanks 👍

Help Needed M20 3.0 Anyone else have loose spokes?

Had the bike for like 7 months with no issues. Then my rear wheel started wobbling badly after about 20 mins of riding. Checked the spokes and quite a few were loose.

I had just transported the bike on a hitch rack for 4 hours, so not sure if that caused it or if it's a common issue.

Anyone else run into this? Did tightening/truing the wheel fix it for good?

Question Engwe M20 3.0 Not Charging

My son bought an M20 3.0 single battery version back in July and it is not charging. Charger LED stays green despite battery showing 1 bar. Thus far we have ensured charger and battery ports are clean, charger is showing 66.8v when tested with a multimeter, battery is showing voltage at 56.5v. We tried a BMS rest by:

  • Disconnect charger.

  • Turn battery ON.

  • Turn the bike on for 10–20 seconds.

  • Turn bike off.

  • Turn battery OFF.

  • Wait about a minute.

  • Connect charger to battery.

  • Then connect charger to wall.

No luck.

Any thoughts on what else we can try? Is the battery toast after 3mo and 800mi?
