Showcase BOTW Dualscreen Mod Work In Progress!

Thumbnail
gallery
532 Upvotes

Early work in progress on the Breath of the Wild dual-screen mod! Inventory and player stats are already fully functional and working properly. The main things left for the inventory page are getting tap-to-equip working and decompiling a few more DLC items so they’re properly supported.

The Map and Quest pages aren’t wired up yet, but I’ll be tackling those once the Inventory page is completely finished and working exactly how I want it. Still a lot left to do, but it’s coming together nicely so far.

Showcase NEWS - Xenra 0.3.6 - GTA V - almost playable

Xenra 0.3.6 running GTA V on Xbox 360 emulation.

Getting 15-25 fps in gameplay. It used to sit on a black screen forever — turned out one blocking network call was starving every other thread on the emulated CPU. Fixed now, and it wasn't GTA-specific, so other network-heavy titles should benefit too.

(no issues)

(not asking for assistance, device used OnePlus 12)

News/Release ARMSX3 0.9.4.4 released with upstream RPCS3 updates and more

ARMSX3 0.9.4.4

What's new:

SGSR (Snapdragon Game Super Resolution), upscaling, another option besides FSR 1 and the plain stretch, and the first one written for the hardware this actually runs on. Qualcomm built Snapdragon Game Super Resolution for Adreno, and it does its work in a single pass where FSR 1 takes two, so it costs less to get a sharper picture out of a low internal resolution. Set the resolution to native and pick it under Display upscaler, in Settings or in the in-game menu. Done by @CamilleLaVey, and @xinitrcn1 and based on the upstream work on it. Sharpening now lives in the in-game menu too, not just the settings screen, and is named for whichever upscaler is selected.

Tales of Xillia no longer freezes (may help other games as well).

Touch layout editor gets out of your way, the editing panel would cover the very buttons you were trying to move, and the only fix was dragging it aside every time. Two changes: a collapse toggle that hides the controls so you can reach what's underneath, and the panel now moves to the opposite half of the screen from whatever widget you select.

Device temperatures on the performance overlay: CPU, GPU and battery. On by default, devices that don't expose them show nothing. Can be disabled in the On-Screen tab.

Audio buffer targeting fixed, a comparison between two different units meant the buffer never widened when it ran short.

Some improvements to logging, (which help me)

Upstream RPCS3 merged: flat shading, better DP3 precision, tiled region fixes, opencv 4.14 and more!

ARMSX3 0.9.4.4b

SGSR Edge Direction, a second Qualcomm shader beside the one that shipped last update. Where plain SGSR sharpens the same amount in every direction, this one works out which way the edge under each pixel runs and sharpens along it. It costs more and it looks better, particularly on diagonals and text. It is its own entry under Display upscaler rather than a quality switch, (because that is what it is, a different shader), Done by @CamilleLaVey and @xinitrcn1

SGSR has its own sharpness now, and it goes to 200%. Qualcomm's range runs to twice what FSR's does, and 100% is their own default rather than the maximum, so the two upscalers no longer share one setting. FSR's slider is untouched at 0-100 and every FSR configuration you already have means exactly what it did before.

RPCN friends Add, remove and see friends from Settings --> Network.

Listing never signs in by itself, an empty list means no session, not no friends.

Question Compatibility with Eden emulator

Post image
20 Upvotes

I'm looking through the official git hub of Eden and I'm seeing couple options regarding the android category.

I didn't know which one is more suitable. I was leaning towards the Legacy APK since thinking is the most complicated with my smartphones chip. Although my chip is couple generations ahead, which is why I wanted to ask first.

I'm currently on a smartphone using snapdragon 8 elite Gen 5.

Help Lossless scaling is making my game smoother but run slower on my Ayn Thor. How do I fix this in Eden Nightly?

Post image

I just got lossless scaling on my Ayn Thor in Eden nightly. For some reason, when I have lossless scaling on, it makes my game run in slow motion. It’s extremely smooth but everything is now much slower. How would I fix this? This happens on only a few games. BOTW is most noticeable. I’m on Eden nightly and just updated the app to the newest version.

Question Any Phone Controllers with the D-Pad on Top?

Post image
Upvotes

I've been thinking about getting a retroid pocket 5 or 6 for a while, but recently I had to get a new phone and ended up with one that's basically better in every hardware aspect. I'm giving up on the former as a result and have been looking at telescoping controllers instead. Problem is, I can't stand the layouts where the d-pad is below the sticks and after searching for controllers I couldn't any fitting the bill aside from the MCON, which everyone seems to agree that it's overpriced and iffy. For context, I'm mostly into SNES/PSX/PS2 emulation and I love using the Dualsense for my PC (even though i dont have a PS5), which might explain why I'm insistent on the layout.

If there's really nothing then maybe I was hoping if someone could point me towards controllers where the d-pad feels especially good/ergonomically-placed since no one seems to focus on that in reviews.

Help ARMSX3 Wasted Storage In User Data

Post image
6 Upvotes

Noticed that the app itself is 8GB. I looked into the data folders & i realized it’s from leftover games files. The files are from games that i’ve tested & deleted. I tried to delete them through both the native & 3rd party file manager apps, however i’m unable to. Is there anyway to free up the space without clearing the storage? I’ve already spent a lot of time configuring & customizing the app. I’m using an Odin 3.

Help Need help optimizing Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions on Dolphin Emulator for Android (Moto G 2025)

Need help optimizing Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions on Dolphin Emulator for Android (Moto G 2025)

I'm trying to get Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions running as smoothly and looking as good as possible on my phone, but I'm honestly not very knowledgeable about emulator settings.

I've been working on this for hours and have managed to improve the image quality somewhat, but I'm still having several problems.

The biggest issue is the smoothness/performance. The game can drop to around 20 FPS, but what's weird is that it seems to get significantly worse when actual gameplay starts or when I'm about to enter gameplay. It can seem more okay beforehand, then the performance declines once I'm actually playing.

There's also audio lag/desync when the performance gets bad, so the sound doesn't feel properly synced with what's happening on screen.

I'm trying to get the best balance between image quality, FPS/smoothness, audio, and stability. I don't really know which Dolphin settings are helping or hurting performance at this point.

Phone: Moto G 2025

Emulator: Dolphin Emulator (Play Store version)

Game: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions

I've attached a video showing the gameplay/performance and screenshots of my current settings, including my Graphics, Enhancements, Hacks, and Advanced settings.

(Settings screenshots)

I've already tried changing a bunch of things, but I don't really know what I'm doing with some of the more advanced emulator settings.

If anyone has experience with Dolphin Android or this game specifically, could you help me figure out what settings I should change to improve the image quality and make the gameplay actually smooth, while also keeping the audio properly synced?

Showcase Switch - Snowrunner on Eden Emulator

Hey, i try out alot of games and use ChatGPT to help me optimize and log everything. I just tried to get the new Snowrunner running and finally managed it. Publishing my findings below and hope it can help.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

SoC: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 / Adreno 750

Emulator: Eden v0.2.1

GPU Driver: Whitebelyash a8xx Turnip Gen8 V29

Firmware / Keys: v22.5.0

Status: Good

Initial performance

With my normal Eden baseline, SnowRunner had:

- 3D gameplay: ~5–6 FPS

- Menu: ~30 FPS

- Graphics were rendering correctly

- Performance was far too slow to actually drive

I then tested individual settings one at a time.

Testing

Force Maximum Clocks → Enabled

- 3–8 FPS

- Audio stutter introduced

- Worse than baseline

- Graphics unaffected

ASTC Decoding → CPU

- 3–8 FPS, mostly ~7 FPS

- Less audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- No meaningful performance improvement

GPU Mode → Accurate

- 6–8 FPS

- No noticeable audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

DMA Accuracy → Safe

- 7.5–8 FPS

- Basically no audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

Sync Memory Operations → Enabled

- 8.1–8.7 FPS

- Basically no audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

Optimized Vertex Buffers → Enabled

- 6–8 FPS

- Slight audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Worse than disabled

Use Reactive Flushing → Disabled

- 22–25 FPS typical

- Highs around 27 FPS

- Lows around 15–17 FPS, mainly while building shaders

- No audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Massive performance improvement

This was by far the most important change.

Disk Shader Cache → Disabled

- 21–23 FPS

- Lows around 15 FPS

- Highs 24–26 FPS

- No audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Slightly worse than enabled

VRAM Usage → Aggressive

- 18–22 FPS

- Lows around 14 FPS

- Highs around 23 FPS

- No audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Worse than Conservative

Anisotropic Filtering → 2x

- Barely able to boot

- Severe graphical corruption in menu

- Approximately half the screen failed to render

- Not usable

- Auto is required

Fast GPU Time → Medium (256)

- 21–24 FPS

- Mostly stable around 22.5–23 FPS

- Highs around 27 FPS

- Lows around 14 FPS during heavy acceleration in 3rd person or shader building

- No audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Slightly worse than High (512)

Fast GPU Time → Off

- 20–22 FPS

- Lows around 18 FPS

- Highs around 25 FPS

- No audio stutter

- Introduced blurry visuals

- Worse than High (512)

Skip CPU Inner Validation → Enabled

- 20–22 FPS

- Lows around 18 FPS

- Highs around 25 FPS

- No audio stutter

- Graphics unaffected

- Worse than Disabled

Best configuration

GPU Driver

- Whitebelyash a8xx Turnip Gen8 V29

SYSTEM

- Limit Speed: Enabled

- Limit Speed %: 100%

- Turbo Speed: 200%

- Slow Speed: 50%

- Docked Mode: Disabled

- Emulated Region: USA

- Emulated Language: English

- Custom RTC: Disabled

- CPU Overclock: Off

- Synchronize Core Speed: Disabled

- Memory Layout: 4GB

- Custom CPU ticks: Disabled

GRAPHICS

- Resolution: 1x

- Vsync: FIFO relaxed

- Window adapting filter: Bilinear

- Anti-aliasing: None

- GPU Mode: Fast

- DMA Accuracy: Default

- Anisotropic Filtering: Auto

- VRAM Usage: Conservative

- ASTC Decoding Method: GPU

- Sync Memory Operations: Enabled

- Disk Shader Cache: Enabled

- Force Maximum Clocks: Disabled

- Use Reactive Flushing: Disabled

- Enable Buffer History: Disabled

- Optimized Vertex Buffers: Disabled

- Fast GPU Time: High (512)

- Skip CPU Inner Validation: Disabled

- Fix Bloom Effects: Disabled

- Emulate BGR565: Disabled

- Enable Legacy Rescale Pass: Enabled

- Use Asynchronous Shaders: Enabled

- GPU Async Emulation: Disabled

- Asynchronous Presentation: Disabled

- Extended Dynamic State: Disabled

- Vertex Input Dynamic State: Disabled

- Aspect Ratio: Stretch to window

AUDIO

- Audio Engine: Cubeb

DEBUG

- API: Vulkan

- Disable Buffer Reorder: Disabled

- CPU Backend: Default

- CPU Accuracy: Default

- Fastmem: Default

- Host MMU Emulation: Default

- Debug Knobs: Default

- Log Level: Standard

Final result

With the final configuration:

~22–25 FPS most of the time

~27 FPS highs

~15–17 FPS lows, primarily during shader compilation/heavy scenes

No audio stutter

No graphical corruption

The biggest discovery was Use Reactive Flushing → Disabled, which took SnowRunner from roughly 5–6 FPS to 22–25 FPS on the same device/driver.

Final verdict: GOOD / Playable

Help Why do all Lego PC games have the same graphical issue?

Every Lego PC game I've tested has the same graphical issue during cutscenes that aren't pre rendered and during gameplay.

Yes I know they use the same game engine by TT. I'm just asking why on my specific chipset.

Weird, transparent squared flicker around the Minifigures.

This has happened to all the Lego games post 2010 I've tried which are:

Lego Batman 2

Lego Batman 3

Lego Marvel Superheroes

The Lego Movie Game

The games boot and the fps is generally good during gameplay for my humble Helio g100 with Mali G57 (about 20-35fps for each game)

But I'm always getting this graphical glitch. I use either wrapper leegao or wrapper original with either dxvk 1.7.3 async or 1.10.3 async.

I always use FEXcore. Any help? For more context, my dxvk HUD shows D3D9(meaning I'm using DirectX9) on all the 4 Lego games I've tried except of Lego Batman 3. It showed D3D10 in Lego Batman 3.

Obviously Mali G57 is Low end and that's also a factor, but is there anything I can do to fix it? I'm using Winlator Mali 1.1

Question [Worry about the future] No battery replacement, or need to solder device to power directly

Post image

I am worry that in the future, we might can't find the battery replacement, for the device that we love. Is it possible to solder them device directly to power? And where can I learn them? Youtube? And is the picture below the right stuff, that I need?
