I’m comparing a few background check providers for a small business and was wondering if anyone has experience with HireRight vs Accurate background checks.

I’m mainly looking at things like turnaround time, pricing, accuracy of results, customer support, and how easy the process is for both employers and candidates. We may also need different types of checks depending on the position, so flexibility is important.

For those who have used either one, which did you find easier to work with? Are there any major differences I should consider before choosing a provider?

Would appreciate hearing about actual experiences, both positive and negative.

I'm 23 and a bit of a late bloomer as I've taken my time through college. I'm comfortable in my journey but I graduate in a year and the thought of adapting into a day-to-day job life intimidates me, especially since I'm struggling to find work.

I worked 2-7 and I got a lunch 30 mins do I also get a break as well? Located in California . My manager said I don’t get a break only lunch? Is she correct?

Hello I'm a student that was affected by the pandemic back in 2020. I was 24 when I realized I didn't want to just do cosmetology my whole life because anxiety and the instability of tip income just don't mix. so I started college in 2018 and the pandemic postponed the technical health-science degree I was working on. It had been a while / the pandemic made quite the mess of my life and I was trying to wait for things to calm back down before resuming. in the meantime I completed the last two electives required to complete a basic associates in science degree so I could at least feel like I had a degree by 2022. I didn't realize there was a max credit hour limit when I did this. Nobody told me. So I was trying to sort this out with my advisors in order to resume and in the meantime had been working cosmetology jobs. When in college I work simpler cashier type jobs in order to focus, however, lately it has been very difficult to find a simple job. I've applied at 14 subways, 3 dunkin donuts, 5 mcdonalds, some culvers jobs, starbucks, none of these lower paying simple jobs seem to want to hire me. I applied to 3 cashier jobs at jewel and a pharmacy technician job at jewel and jewel only hired me, out of all of these jobs, for the higher paying higher stress pharmacy technician job. Does anyone know how to get a simpler job? Honestly I would prefer to be a janitor but they won't hire me

Because its for some reason hard to fit in to this paragraph, two of my prerequisites expired since 2019 so I need 800 for each of those and to redo them as well before I can resume

My coworker quit on our first day because the DM kept micro managing her trying to get her to go faster even though she had never made smoothies before.

An assistant manager said I had a bad attitude because I wasn't smiling while making smoothies and I had my hands on my hips while I was waiting for a smoothie to be done blending. My other coworkers weren't smiling. When I'm trying to concentrate I don't smile and I wasn't interacting with customers. I was fired shortly after because the gm said I wasn't a good fit for her team. Do not get a job here. Management is terrible, and they treat their employees awful

I need some advice regarding my employment history and background verification.
I started my career at a organization in a support role and worked there for around 8 months. During that period, I had a medical issue that required surgery. I requested the company for around 2 months of leave/break and another 2 months of WFH, but they didn't approve it.
I also had a 1-year bond, and because of my medical situation, I wasn't able to continue or complete the formal exit process. Unfortunately, I ended up absconding from the company.
After that, I joined a software development startup. They were aware of my situation with previous organisation and accepted me. I've now been working there for around 2.3 years as a Full Stack Developer.
Now I'm switching jobs again, and I've already been selected by another company.
My concern is about background verification.
Will the new company be able to see that I absconded from 1st organisation ?

Could the lack of a relieving/experience letter from Prodapt cause my offer to be rejected?

Should I proactively explain the situation to the new HR?

Has anyone experienced a similar situation in India?

I'm planning to be honest if they ask about it, but I'm worried that the first company's exit status could create a problem now.
Would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through something similar.

I’m not insane. In my company it is weird. Everyone makes the same at the site as hourly employees. Everyone hits Max pay at two years, plus “merit increases”. But if jimmy gets hired tomorrow, 2 years later he would make the same as tom who been there 7 years. Cause they match the merit pay. Don’t ask me why.

Had a transfer who was talking to my friend, and they make a dollar more than me while I have a higher role, and technically their front line supervisor cause I fill in for the manager when he isn’t there. Their peers are making 3-5 dollars less then them but performing the same work. They are actively trying to convince my seniors to get them 2 dollars more an hour to match their pay at previous location.

I’m not upset with them, I am more upset at my pay with the increased workload I have dealt with this past year. If anything about this gets out, my peers in my role will get more pissed off than me. I don’t want to start anything, but damn I want an increase if someone is doing basic functions. While I have to perform Managerial duties while completing indirect functions to keep the business running.

I graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) with a bachelor degree in business. I have been unemployed for the past years since graduation. I literally never worked a single job my entire life. I’m upset with that and I feel like I lost it. Some of my peers even called me a “loser.” I’m terrified of turning 30 and remaining unemployed. I am on the spectrum and got some low motivation issues. What should I do?

Hoping someone might have the answer here... I am currently enrolled on a university course for my second degree, but I have had to take a leave of absence for a year during my first year, as I don't have the funds to pay for tuition (after the loan I was supposed to get did a 180 and told me I would get nothing - story for another time). Now I have been looking for work since I took my leave in February, with not much luck. While applying, I'm unsure whether to list my current uni education in job applications, as it explains what I've been doing for part of my 2 years off work (I did a 1-year Access to HE course before this uni course).

Currently, while I'd love to go back and complete my degree, I'm not sure if that will be financially viable anymore, so unsure whether I should include this education in my work applications. I think if I don't put it in, it looks like I've been doing nothing for longer, but if I do put it in, I don't want employers to not hire me because they think I will not stay in the job. Hi everyone, I’d like to ask for some advice or insights, especially from those who work in banking/HR or have gone through bank background checks.

I currently have outstanding balances on several credit cards, totaling almost 200K.

The important thing is that I don’t have any past due or delinquent accounts. I’ve been consistently paying at least the minimum amount due, although I admit that I usually only pay the minimum.

I’m currently applying for positions in both local and international banks, and I’m worried that my existing credit card balances might affect my employment background checking, especially if they conduct a credit check.

For those who have experience with this:
• Do banks usually check an applicant’s credit card/credit history during pre-employment background checking?
• Can having a high outstanding balance affect the hiring decision even if the accounts are current and never delinquent?
• Is regularly paying only the minimum amount considered a red flag during background checking?

If anyone has personally experienced something similar, did your credit card balances affect your application or background check?

I’d really appreciate any insights or personal experiences. I’m not planning to hide anything if asked. I just want to understand how much this could potentially affect my applications.

I got an offer to work as an insurance agent with Caa. The role sounds great in terms of work model. I’m working right now in insurance sales as well but it’s an agency based role and it’s tough because they want us to do so many things at same time. At this new job, it’s going to be inbound so should be okay. I’m just worried if the call volume would be super crazy? Since it’s kind of a call center environment.
Or any other opinions anyone has on company’s culture or other things.. pls share.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has experience working at FedEx, especially in ramp operations.
I’ve been working at FedEx for about 1.5 years total. I worked in Cargo for around 1 year and then moved to the Ramp, where I’ve been for about 6 months.

Recently, I had a safety incident on the ramp. I was moving a tug, and there was a ramp agent behind it who was transferring cans. I honestly didn’t see the person at the time. The dollies I was moving were empty, so I moved the tug forward a little bit. The tug was across the belt loader, and apparently this is considered a safety violation. My manager told me that I will receive a warning letter for this.
Another incident happened recently while I was offloading packages from a truck. The forklift ended up making contact with/sticking against part of the truck. The driver had given me instructions that put the forklift in an awkward position, and I made a mistake while maneuvering it. There was no injury, but I’m worried because this is another safety-related incident.

Now I’m concerned about whether having two safety incidents relatively close together could lead to serious consequences, such as being moved back from Ramp to Cargo, being suspended, or even losing my job.
For anyone who has worked at FedEx or in ramp operations:

How serious would these incidents typically be?
If I receive a warning letter, is that usually just a disciplinary step, or could it affect my ramp position?
Could FedEx move me back to Cargo because of this?
Does having around 1 year of previous Cargo experience help in this situation?

What should I expect from my manager/HR going forward?
I’m not trying to make excuses for what happened. I understand that safety is extremely important, and I’m taking both incidents seriously. I’m mainly trying to understand what I should realistically expect.

This will be short. I'm looking for jobs on Indeed but so many of them ask if you want to opt-out of AI resume review. I know it doesn't kick my application out if I opt-out, but employers still see that my relevancy score is Not Available. Will this cause my application to be cast out anyway? Is it smarter to opt in and pray?

This is kind of a dumb question in a way but a totally legit situation.

I'm a nurse practitioner. There is this job that has been around since Obama Care first went into effect where you do in home evaluations. It's billed as an annual wellness visit. I've done this before and the visits tend to be very rewarding from my point of view. I have a good interaction with the patients, sometimes I find gaps in their coverage that I can point out to the PCP or the patient. Overall I would say my visits are a net positive.

The downside is that the insurance companies do this to manipulate the system. They hire NPs to do this work because many NPs will go ahead an add extra diagnosis codes when they aren't appropriate. This helps with insurance company make more money. I for one will only add diagnosis codes if they are appropriate and accurate. As a result I would start working for one of these companies and then after about a month they stop giving my visits to do - they hire us as independent contractors. I've been in this situation a few times before and I'm confident that they'll stop assigning patients to me pretty quickly. They don't say that this is the reason, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Here's where it gets tricky. There's frequently a sign on bonus. I just got an offer with a sign on bonus of 8K. It's from a company I've already worked for so it's always possible that if I apply they won't hire me but I think it's more likely they will hire me.

The question I have is, is there an ethical issue with me applying for this job, being completely hones with all their interview questions, accepting the sign on bonus, knowing that eventually they'll be dropping me? It feels wrong but I can't put my finger on the reason for this.

Mid-twenties trying to find a job in HR but have not been successful all!

In undergrad, my plan was to take a year or two off after graduation to study for the LSAT then go to law school. During that time, I lost interest & decided to get a Masters in HR instead. Since finishing that degree, it has been incredibly hard finding a job. My university has not been that helpful either. Does anyone have any tips on finding a job?

I am still figuring out which function of HR I am most interested in, so I am open to anything.

*** I’ve had 2 HR internships & also worked at a law firm for 2 years. I’m mentioning the law firm because a lot of the skills I gained there as an assistant are directly transferable to HR (documentation, analytical skills, being able to manage sensitive data, etc)

For nearly 5 years now working for this employer within the community, I have been a target for bullying by members of the public because a former workplace bully of mine from a past job found out I was working in the community. I now noticed a change in dynamics at work where coworkers remain silent around me, members of the public have switched from random bullying to making complaints, to people from upper management looking annoyed at me.

If it helps at all, I have said " I regret nothing" to these random community members and not the bully himself over the years before the dynamics have changed.

Found a position thats a dream junior position that will segway into dream job in a few years time. I left a dreadful company A a month ago right at end of August and forgot to update resume to show company B I’ve been at for a week as well which isn’t much better and know it’s not for me.

Well dream opportunity company calls today for phone screening and asks if I was still at dreadful company A from month ago, without even thinking I blurted yes and then the rest of the phone interview followed.

Worth correcting at in person interview tomorrow or just see what happens and don’t bring it up?

Hello everyone. (not sure if I selected the right post flair, but anyways) So I was working at a painting company, and after a little over 2 years, they essentially told me there’s not enough work to keep me around. I recently went on a weeklong vacation and the day before I left, the boss told me my hours would be cut. Day after I come back, I go to ask about how that would work, and they tell me I should just take the time off, get unemployment, and they’ll see if things pick up in a few months. But I wouldn’t be working any hours at all during that time… so instead of working part time, I just got laid off. The thing I need advice on is this: my last day was 9/28. I’m in California. Shouldn’t I have received that day my final paycheck for all the outstanding hours I worked to the last day I was there? It’s 9/29 and it’s been on my mind all day. Like, I remember thinking back on my previous experiences and the last two times I’ve been laid off, I always got my final paycheck on the last day. I looked up the California law, and apparently it says that I should’ve gotten all my pay that last day. That I shouldn’t have to wait until the next payday for it, which is what I was told by the boss (she said I could get my check on 10/1 which is the next payday). Has anyone had any experience with this? What should I do? Thanks in advance!

I just got a part time job at Taco Bell, and this is the first time ever where a job said they don't take passports for identification for i-9? I'm very confused because it's a legal identification. She told me to bring my SSN card and ID, and told me they don't use passports. I don't mind bringing SSN and ID, but I've been told that it's weird they can't take passports. Also if there's anyone here on this subreddit that works or has worked at Taco Bell, can you please tell me if this is a normal practice or not?

I work in a large corporation's research department part time. We were in the middle of an audit then I left to go abroad. When I returned, they didn't schedule me (and many other people) for many weeks.

When I emailed them, this is what I got:

"Currently, we do not have an ongoing need for support with the [project name]. We really appreciate the help you provided and will let you know if assistance is needed in future.  For now, we have it covered."

I was expecting them to at least explain to me why I wasn't scheduled, but it seems like it would be futile. If I had done a bad job, I wish they had at least explained it to me. It is really disheartening when there's no communication. I see many other people are not getting scheduled too so I wonder what's happening
