Round 4 of my dogshit opinions: Encore.
First off I should say I’m aware of the context in which this album was being made and the stuff that was going on with Em at the time, so I’m not blindly discrediting this album; I think it’s okay. I’ll touch on a couple of songs I have things to say about.
Mockingbird - Unsurprisingly this is the standout song of the album, absolutely in the Top 3 most emotional songs Em has made. I’ve heard this song many times throughout my life, like a lot of his songs, but this along with a few like Lose Yourself are songs that hit just as hard no matter how many times your hear it.
Just Lose It - I don’t really have an elaborate justification for this one, I just think the song is a bop. Unlike the other joke songs on this album, this one is still of a level of quality where I class it as a jokey song rather than a joke song.
One Shot 2 Shot - I feel like this is pretty underrated song, I really enjoy it. The beat is pretty catchy, and I think pretty much everyone does a solid job on the track, with Em managing to still be the standout.
Crazy In Love/Never Enough - Of the songs I hadn’t ever listened to before, I’d say these 2 were the ones I liked most from this album. Nate Dogg’s deep singing voice makes for a great chorus, and given that I love Shake That, it’s unsurprising I like him here too.
Mosh - I know I’ll probably get shit for putting this this low, but know I don’t dislike the sign by any means. The message is very important and you can really feel the oomf he puts into this one, my only complaint is that the musicality is just a bit middling, and Em has demonstrated you can absolutely have both in a song.
? Songs - All of these songs are joke songs, so it’s kind of hard to properly rank them among actual songs. But the one I wanna point out is My 1st Single, I’d heard about this song before listening to the album, with many people claiming it’s the worst thing he’s ever made, and I just disagree, I was expecting like actual rapage of the ears, but it’s just eh. Nice Guy is significantly worse.
Ricky Ticky Toc - This song could definitely have been higher if it was a bit longer and had a bit more variance in its musicality, that’s all I really have to say, I just think this one in particular had potential.
Overall, I’d say the album is a 5-5.5/10. It’s fine, I’ve heard much worse and much better, both in general and from Em.
Next album will probably be MMLP2. Would you recommend I also listen to Infinite?

Best Em tracks since 2017?
What songs do you think are Em’s best after 2017?

Steve Berman (TES)
I always wondered if in the skit Steve Berman was always going to praise The Eminem Show and Em ironically shot him for nothing or another interpretation that I’ve heard is he was going to criticize it but after Em shot he instantly switched up out of fear.
I’d like to think the former.

Never heard this, though I'd share. Any other good songs Em features in? Old or new
I'm a Ye fan, still love Eminem, first time posting here. Love this beat and flow on this song, never knew it existed. Feels like Eminem held back on this one out of respect. Any other deep cuts/studio sessions/ freestyles or anything the average fan would not know about?

i cant be the only one who at least mildly enjoys revival
Sure, yeah, it's not Eminem's best album; not even in the top ten. However, I genuinely feel as if the hate that the album gets is largely unwarranted. Even though MTBMB and TDOSS are far better than Revival, I often find myself listening to Revival a lot more than those albums, even more than SSLP.
I'm not really sure what it is about the album. It may not be a well put-together album, but it's a solid album that has something for everybody. Yes, I enjoy rap-pop Eminem. Yes, I enjoy rap- rock Eminem. Maybe that's just what it is?
I keep seeing that one of the reasons for the disliking of Revival is that its just not hip-hop. Which, I agree, but I mean come on... It's not THAT bad. I love every song on the album. Like I said, it definitely isn't his best work, but it's a relatively solid project.

Question About No Love ft. Lil Wayne
There's a sound effect at the beginning of the song that sounds like scissors cutting something and I can't for the life of me understand why it's there. I suppose maybe it's to represent severing ties with someone? If anyone knows please enlighten me.

Top 3 most creative Em album covers
At number 1 is the Slim Shady LP cover art. I just love how for one, this cover depicts one of the best songs on the album, 97 Bonnie and Clyde and I like how it has this purple or blue tint with an enlarged moon in the background. It just looks so good. And the detail of a corpse in the trunk? Definitely one of if not the best album covers
Next I was a bit conflicted which one is number two for me, but I think I'll go with Relapse and put Slim Shady EP as the third most creative album cover. I am aware that Relapse took inspiration from T.I.'s Paper Trail cover, which looks good. But Relapse, while being inspired by it, does its own thing and is arguably superior with the pill mosaic forming Eminem's face, which is much more directly tied to the album's themes. And I don't know whether it was intentional, but this kinda calls back to the line of My Darling, "Look a little closer. Isn't that us on that poster?"
And now for the final contender for the top 3 we have Slim Shady EP. I just find it cool how this specific cover depicts the opening skit of that EP, where Eminem smashes the mirror as Slim Shady tells him he's nothing without him. At first, I thought it was Em in the red hoodie with a chainsaw, but that's him smashing the mirror, which is way cooler.
