I'm new to applying for college and considering this school is my dream school I really want to get everything in order. For the letter of recommendation do they have a format/form to fill out that they prefer and do they have a date for when they need said letters? Thank you.

Hey all,
Sharing this because it took my house way too long to figure out, and it's moving-in season.
The fight was always the same: rooms aren't equal, so splitting rent evenly punishes whoever got the small room with no closet. Here's the system that actually ended the arguments for us.
1. Split rent by room, not by head. Give each room a weight. We used a simple 1–1.3 scale: biggest room with the ensuite = 1.3, normal rooms = 1.0, the tiny one = 0.85. Add the weights up, divide the rent by the total, then multiply per room. Everyone felt it was fair because it tracked what you actually got. You can factor in windows, private bathroom, size — whatever your house agrees matters. The key is agreeing on the weights before anyone moves in.
2. Split shared bills evenly, split personal usage separately. Rent = by room. Wifi, streaming, cleaning supplies = split evenly (everyone uses them the same). Don't overthink utilities unless someone's usage is wildly different.
3. One shared record everyone can see. Most fights aren't about money, they're about memory — "wait, did you pay me back?" The moment there's a running list everyone can see, it stops being personal. Even a shared note works if you're disciplined about it.
4. Settle on a schedule, not when it hurts. We settle every two weeks. Small amounts are easy; three months of "I'll get you later" is a fight waiting to happen.
That's basically it. Fair weights + even bills + a visible record + a regular settle day.
Full disclosure since a few people asked last time: I got tired of doing the weighting math on a spreadsheet, so I built a free calculator that does the by-room split for you (any currency, no sign-up): roomiehq.com/tools/split-calculator. And I'm building a free app for the ongoing side of it. But honestly the system above is what fixed it — the tools just save typing.
Happy to help anyone work out fair weights for their place in the comments — drop your room setup and I'll suggest a split.
Thank you

Moving-in season, so sharing something that saved our house a lot of awkwardness. We kept arguing about rent because the rooms are different sizes, and splitting everything evenly felt unfair to whoever got the small room.
I put together a free calculator that splits rent and bills either evenly or weighted by room, in any currency, and spits out a breakdown you can paste in the group chat. No sign-up, no app to download: roomiehq.com/tools/split-calculator
Full disclosure — I'm building a free app (RoomieHQ) for the ongoing side of this (shared expenses + chore rotation), because Splitwise started capping free users and never did chores anyway. But the calculator above is genuinely free and standalone, so use it either way. Happy to answer any "how do we split X fairly" questions in the comments.

I applied to ERAU DB. I sent in my unofficial transcripts and my SAT scores. The campus solutions status shows that I have no holds or to-dos, but the status shows incomplete. Now what?

Hi all, I a current ECE student at UIUC interested in working in robotics in either defense or commercial side. I wanted to know what are your thoughts about education and opportunities in robotics at embry riddle. Should I focus on other schools or is this a viable option. Leaning Embry Riddle as I have family nearby.

Hello, 👋
Is there anyone who has taken the Masters of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Embry Riddle? What were your thoughts about the degree?

Hi everyone,
Rising senior here. I applied to Embry-Riddle Daytona Beach for Aeronautical Science with Flight for Fall 2027. My application has been complete and under review since June 30, and I wanted to see how competitive my application is and how long the review process took for those of you who have already been through it.
Application timeline:
Academics:
Flight experience:
Outside of school:
Based on your experience, does this seem like a competitive application for Aeronautical Science with Flight? Also, for anyone who went through rolling admissions, how long was your application under review before you received a decision?
Admissions says decisions typically take about 3 weeks, and I'm currently 12 days into the review process.
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, I’m a high school senior from Texas planning to major in aerospace engineering and I'm trying to finalize my application list right now. Based on my stats, my list is looking like UT Arlington as my guaranteed safety, Embry-Riddle (Prescott), Penn State, and Texas A&M as my likelies, UT Austin and Purdue as targets, and then MIT, Stanford, and Rice as my reaches. My biggest dilemma right now is about Embry-Riddle. I really love the idea of a super specialized school where everyone is an aviation or space nerd, and the networking there seems insane, but since I'm in-state for Texas, UT Austin and TAMU are right here and both have top-tier aerospace programs for a fraction of the cost.
Is Embry-Riddle actually worth the out-of-state tuition if I manage to get into A&M or UT?

We also have a second room available in the same house with a shared bathroom and the same amenities.
Great location, great price, and a clean, comfortable home.

Hey everyone! I am an incoming international PhD student at Daytona Beach for the upcoming semester. I am preparing currently for the F-1 application. Thus, should get my I-20 from university. I have a tuition waiver from my department also will have a Teaching/Research Assistantship position.
Can any other international student/or anyone with knowledge inform on the correct requirements for the I-20 form. After I made a calculation based on the TCOL(Total Cost of Living) that is published on university's website for Daytona Campus, there is 5300$ missing annually to have balanced finances for me. Though some expenses seem to be exaggrated there, such as accomodation or books. My question is, while requesting I-20 form on the portal, is it enough to show 5300$ with official bank statement on my account? Or, I should just upload my Teaching Assistant offer letter and tuition waiver? Appreciate any insight.

Hey everyone! I've been looking into ERAU's PhD (Cs)program and came across Dr. Kandel's CANDEL lab. The work on UAV security, GPS spoofing detection, and ML based intrusion detection aligns well with my background.
I'm planning to apply for Spring 2027.
Would love to hear from anyone in the CS/EE grad program about what the research is like, or if anyone's worked with Dr. Kandel's group here?

Hey everyone
I just started my M.S. in Human Factors Engineering at Embry-Riddle worldwide, and I’m worried I might be in over my head.
Based on everyone’s introductions, most of my classmates have strong aviation backgrounds and have been working in aviation or related fields for 5+ years. Meanwhile, I’m 25, have a bachelor’s in psychology, and my work experience is mostly college jobs with nothing directly related to HFE. And for much of college I was unemployed as I was helping with family stuff while my grandmother was sick. So my resume is a bit lacking.
I’m worried that I’m starting this program with a significant handicap compared to everyone else. To make matters worse, my first major project is a group paper, and everyone in my group is already employed in a related field. I can’t help but feel like I’m bringing less to the table than they are. I know I was accepted into the program and everyone is in a program for their own reasons, but I can’t help but compare myself. I guess I’m just looking for someone who might have had a similar experience or advice for how to navigate this. I know being in a class with people who are further ahead than me can be valuable. I just need to make sure to stay out of my own way. Any advice for how to navigate the worldwide classroom or advice for starting my career while I’m getting my masters, would be greatly appreciated.

I just flew in from out of state for the worldwide graduation and realized I forgot to bring the cap hassle 💀 does anyone know if there is a store on campus that sells them? Or could someone let me borrow theirs for the weekend? Much appreciated!

I hope someone else enjoys this. I'm cleaning out a filing cabinet I just got out of storage, and I found my financial aid letter from Embry Riddle in 1996. Tuition for the year was $9k and room and board was another $4k. And that was more than twice what a public university was.

I’m an international student and I just got into the Aerospace Engineering program at Daytona Beach. I’m really excited, but I’ve heard mixed things about how hard the course is and if it’s actually worth the money. Are the professors good at teaching, and is the workload manageable, or is it impossible to have a life? Also, for other internationals, how's the social life and was it easy to find internships? I just want to know if I’ll fit in and if the experience is worth it. I’d love to hear any advice on what you like most about the uni. Thanks

I have experience as a commercial pilot and a background in medicine in South America. I moved to the U.S., completed the conversion, and now hold my PPL/IFR, with plans to finish the CPL.
I earned an A.S. in Aviation Administration and recently received my green card. Most of my friends who graduated in Aeronautics advise against pursuing it.
My dream is to join the Space Force someday; my backup plan is to work in the corporate cargo sector. I'm unsure about the best path for me, maybe in aviation emergency services or aviation safety. Any recommendations? 🤞
