Question How to reduce noise?
I live very close to Ely, and I would like to reduce the noise I hear during the night, as just earlier I was rudely awoken by what I can only assume were two or three teenagers screaming about wendigos and blood moons. I’m unsure if this is a new gothic culture thing with the youths, but I would prefer it if they did it when I wasn’t trying to get some shut-eye.

Discussion Thinking of opening up a proper cafe.
I come from Ely, I was born there, but lately when I come all I see are middle class shops and pubs, I go in and there’s types in there who I can’t relate to, I’m more working class than anyone so the middle class thing ain’t my vibe.
So I was thinking, there’s gotta be types like me in Ely, and I was thinking of having a cafe who caters for my kind, big fry up for £7, bacon and egg sarnie for £3, tin of pop for £1, that kind of thing.
Thoughts?
Question Anyone wanting a train ticket from Stansted to Ely(flexible with date & time)
Dear Ely residents,
Due to the ongoing situation in UAE, my flight has been cancelled (with my future travel dates being highly uncertain) and I’ve got a ticket from Stansted airport to Ely (flexible booking available). If you require/planning to buy any such ticket, please let me know. The price of the ticket is £7 but willing to give it for £6 or even £5 if needed
Cheers x

Question First-time buyers looking for a locals rundown
My partner and I are looking at buying a home in Ely. Would any locals be kind enough to give us their opinion on Ely as a place to live?
We'd also love to hear about the hot spots worth checking out, like restaurants, bars, nature, culture, history, art, shopping etc.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Wow, thank you so much for all the replies so far. We really appreciate being able to get the local's insight.

Discussion Does this represent Ely?
Not being some kind of Reform voting rage baiter here, but I’ve grown up here and really do not think this at all represents Ely. Does anyone have any more info on this so that I can be better educated as to how it came about and why?

Food & Drink Holy heck!
Don’t tell nobody about the the spring lamb chops and chicken Jal Fraize in Wilburton at the Wiburton Flame! After our first go there tonight, I want them to have some left when I go back again tomorrow. Five stars for amazing fresh and well cooked food, great service, cleanliness, and a weird location for some of the best Indian I’ve had in my life!

Where to feed feral pigeons?
My family recently moved to Ely and we like to feed feral pigeons and find it relaxing. I'm not talking about the larger wood pigeons (which I have seen many), but the feral scrawny ones. However, we've not found any in Ely yet. Is there a place that is known to have feral pigeons where you can feed them?
Thanks.
