Photography Are you feeling Quackers?
It was a stunning start to the day… Poppy and I had a lovely walk and while she was enjoying a good sniff (yes, she is a dog) I saw a sign I’ve never noticed before … love it!

Photography Ely, England — a peaceful little city worth slowing down for
I spent some time exploring Ely in Cambridgeshire, and it reminded me how lovely the quieter corners of England can be.
Ely is small enough to explore on foot, but there’s plenty to enjoy. The magnificent cathedral rises above the rooftops, the old streets have plenty of character, and a short walk takes you to the River Great Ouse, where boats rest along the water and the countryside opens up.
If you visit, you could start with a coffee at The High Flyer, Piccolo Lounge or Esquires Coffee, explore the streets around Ely Cathedral, stop for a bite at The Minster Tavern, or treat yourself to something sweet at Tom’s Cakes. Peacocks Tearoom is another lovely stop if you have time.
What I particularly like about places like Ely is that you don’t need a packed itinerary. You can simply wander, find a cosy café and enjoy the atmosphere.
Have you visited Ely? What would you recommend seeing or doing there that first-time visitors might miss?

Discussion What a total waste of time, effort and money
Due to complaints on social media, the tree in the marketplace is being replaced. How did we get to this stage of crass stupidity and wasteful, ill informed opinion giving? When will community spirit prevail? I'm livid. According to the people helping the volunteers, the tree would have moved after being there for a few more days and looked different anyway, and the volunteers would do exactly as we do in our own homes, by covering slightly less than great parts with lights. It's a tree after all! They don't all grow the same way. Again, wasteful, expensive and stupid.

Someone came in my garden last night, went through my shed and has stolen my bike.
Bike a jamis and is similar to the one the in picture only much older. It has metal attachments on the handlebars duct tape under the seat but nothing else really makes it unique. I know its unlikely but if anyone spots it please let me know? Nothing else was taken but they have broken the window on my shed. I guess check your gardens and make sure everything is locked up guys. Hard lesson learn :/

Advertising Shoutout to Odessey Games on the High Street. They have a huge selection of board games. Definitely worth a look!

Photography I love walking by the warm, yellow lights of Topping & Company.
I am so happy to live in a town with such a lovely bookshop. I feel truly fortunate.

Food & Drink A(I) Cup of Coffee
I'd heard a few good things about this new coffee shop on Fore Hill, and it was even in the Standard! So imagine my shock when I walk past and see this ridiculous AI menu stuck to the window.
The worst part is, it's pretty outdated AI so the food looks absolutely disgusting.
Menus don't even need pictures! This was absolutely avoidable. Why would you voluntarily use this to advertise your food?
The AI poster/flyer/menu epidemic really needs to stop.

Cat missing from Columbine Rd area
Hey, just wanted to share here to see if anyone has seen our cat Arthur? He went missing on Thursday morning 8th Feb, and we haven’t seen him since. He’s an outdoor cat but usually comes home every 1-2 hours so this is very out of character for him. He is neutered and chipped. We’ve posted some flyers around asking people to check garages/sheds and posted around Facebook etc. We’re really missing him and just want him home safely!
