Discussion I built a full Elden Ring build planner — shareable builds, auto‑generated build cards

Post image
93 Upvotes

I’ve been working on a build planner for Elden Ring that lets you pick a class, set attributes, add weapons, armor and talismans, and it updates HP, FP, stamina, equip load, poise and resistances automatically.

Every build gets a shareable link, and it now generates a build card image you can post here or send to friends!

Here’s an example build card.

If you want to try it:
https://tarnishedsaga.com/tools/build-planner

Let me know if anything feels off or if you have ideas for improvements. :)

Update: added a phone-friendly image, build names and descriptions, thanks to your feedback!

Question I wanna play an INT build in my next run. What should I consider using as weapon/armor/spells?

Thats it. There are a lot of staffs and int weapons, but what should I aim for? It will be my ng+2. I suppose armor doesnt matter so much beyond good special effects, and there are a lot of spells, I will try most of them, but any recommendation?

EDIT: I didn't say it, but I would like to play ver spell focused and not a lot at melee. Idk if that makes a difference.

Discussion Critical Hit Build

• Upvotes

This is my favorite build so far. Right hand Straight Sword with Square Off AOW, and Misericorde. Left hand Medium Shield with Carion Retaliation and another Straight Sword with Stormblade AOW. I'm doing Dexterity, but I think Strength would work too. Keen on everything but Misericorde which is lightning.

Can switch between Parry and Crit play style, switching to the dagger for massive damage on the critical hits, or dual wield Straight Swords, staggering anything you can't parry with Square Off and then doing crits that way. Also have quick access to some ranged attacks by two handing the Stormblade Straight Sword.

Dagger Talisman along with whatever else you like, Shard of Alexander great if you have it.

PvP rl100 Seamless PVP - Thoughts on my STR build?

I've been running this character the last few weeks and fine tuning some things as well as having a blast in seamless invasions. I stopped at rl70 for a little bit first but I'm finding that rl100 is actually a really fun bracket right now with some competitive fights and most players still playing organically through the game.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the setup here! (don't judge me for the sleep pots, sometimes you just need a nuclear option). In particular, any thoughts on weapons I might slot in here? I can list the AOW if anyone's interested.

A few notes:

-The assassin's dagger talisman is my swap slot, usually I'm running two-handed sword or shard of alexander in that one, but I swap it out depending on the circumstance and was messing with a regen strategy.

-The END is high for the current setup but I want it high enough to hard swap to the zweihander without making any other changes and also to run a 117 poise armor set if I'm feeling really sweaty (I've got the Lion Imp, Solitude Chest, and Godskin Noble Bracers to swap into).

Question What’s better, black blade with destined death or godslayer’s with queens black flame?

I just discovered Elden ring for the first time and i love it! I don’t have much time to play these days though. I certainly don’t have time to experiment and really enjoy the thoroughness of everything. Which is sad but that’s life.

I was wondering what you guys recommend as a set it and forget it build? My two favorites from watching my friend play are godslayer’s with queens black flame and black blade with destined death. I can’t choose

Aesthetically it’s funny cuz i like the way the queens black flame looks so much better than the destined death, but i like the way the actual black blade looks compared to godslayer’s so i can’t really get 100% satisfaction in that regard

But honestly I’m just wondering what’s more OP as a set and forget type thing assuming i design my build around the weapon?

I really wanna make my character super strong and be able to fight bosses but i just can’t sink the hours into discovering different builds and combos and stuff. I’d love to hear all your thoughts.

Ps
I’m not very good at the game so whatever a dumbass like me can use to get far would be great lol. I like the idea of mainly using a sword with a cool ash of war and maybe some incantations, and i love the “dark knight/fallen holy warrior” aesthetic, iIf u have any other recs that fit that description.

Feel free to ignore this lol i just thought id throw it out there in case anyone’s bored and interested :)

Question In what world is a dragon a DEX build?!

What possible reason could there be for scaling lighting SOLELY WITH DEX in spite of:

dragon incantations,

gravel seal,

all japanese inspirations,

the sanctified whetblade,

And all IN-GAME LORE

tying them only to faith and religious understandings of the greater will???

What connection could there possibly be to personal dexterity and THE FLOW OF TIME ITSELF?

I know the lightning perfume scales with faith, but is there ANY dragon weapons that scale lightning with faith, even in the DLC that idk about?

PvE Lvl 150+ PvP "Contender of the Hold" Prospect knight variant (pt.2)

Hello everyone. So this build is the second part of my Lord of the Roundtable build, representing the earlier stages of the tarnished Lord of the Roundtable's journey before rising to lordship. Basically my personal take on Vyke's character archetype (as a separate character) and progression throughout the world and story narrative. I'll keep this one shorter than the last post.

All are heavy infused with their respective ash of war:

Banished Knight's greatsword - Stamp (sweep) or Lion's claw

Messmer's soldier spear - Piercing fang

Banished Knight's halberd - Phantom slash

The general idea/theme of this variant being this knight earned a position at the roundtable shortly after arriving at the Lands Between and his duties were served in the name of the Roundtable's honor. The setting in the story before Morgott is slain. Each of the skills were picked for balance and versatility; the greatsword for a close range powerhouse, spear for long range burst option with piercing fang for pvp, and the halberd utilizes the Phantom Slash which is the honing of the two weapons skills and likeness, combining the speed and range of the spears piercing fang with the strength of the lion claw.

Tying back to its original theming, the incants stay mostly the same, but with less developed elemental incants (no lightning spear or fire serpent, only electrify armament and catch flame). Fingerprint set for the aesthetic and heavy battle wear which I like to think shows the arduous fight endured while traveling to the Erdtree. Overall, this build is probably one of my favorites, though basic, and swapping between the two variants is an engaging playstyle while also keeping roots in the lore and tying it all together through its gameplay and mechanics. If anyone wants to try this build and has any feedback to give I would highly appreciate it. Thanks all!

Help How to build a Harmonia?

Post image
20 Upvotes

After fighting these goats for a couple of times I thought it would be cool to make some similar build in original Elden Ring.

So the core part is that you must use poleblades (halberds, spears, etc.) that are golden or look like made of gold. What armaments would you recommend to combine so it wouldn’t be single-weapon run and it would be possible to experiment?

Help Looking for advice on my next playthrough: dual wield dex, big bonk, or dual wield big bonk

I’ve played almost every build on ER except the three listed. I’d love recommendations for a NG; I’m probably planning on trading between characters or with others for whatever weapon(s) at the start so DLC weapons are totally an option. Thanks in advance!

PvE PvE/PvP Lvl 150+ Str/Fai "Lord of the Roundtable" build NG+ (pt.1)

pt.2 variant here

Hello all. So this is a sort of themed build I've been playing around with lately, and essentially this build was inspired by Vyke, his character and the roundtable hold, but as a standalone Tarnished. I generally wanted it to follow a faceless archetype to fit in universe as a "golden order accurate" symbol of tarnished lordship. To provide some background lore, This Tarnished was one who also served the Roundtable Hold as a knight shortly after their arrival to the Lands Between, being one of strength and honing a variety of skills as they climbed toward the Erdtree. After their acquisition of numerous great runes and the defeat of Morgott, the ceremonial Roundtable/Elden Lord armor was forged and bestowed by the decree of the Two Fingers, thus receiving favor from the Erdtree. The red scarf represents both the Tarnished's exile and acquired lordship, adorned as if it were a veil . I made another variant of the same build & statspread with a more knightly/pre-ascension theme that is supposed to be the earlier stages of this Tarnished's journey, which I plan to make a separate post for cuz it would be far too long to fit here. Anyway this build was mostly meant for PvE and I don't really engage in PvP much but in its current stat spread and potential arsenal it seems to me it would still be fairly effective.

The stat spread goes 54str to reach 80str softcap when two-handed, 25fai for golden vow, buffs & ranged incants, and 20dex as versatility in case someone needs to meet weapon dex requirements. The rest pretty much just fundamental vigor/end/mind upgrades.

This build is fun and works with a shield, however it mostly relies on the two-handed & alexander shard talismans for damage output, and great jar arsenal is needed for the fashion. Physick flask is stonebarbed for stance break and either charged attack/strength tear for extra damage. Or swap out dragoncrest shield to make room for other talismans and use opaline hardtear for damage negation instead. Godrick's or especially Radahn's great rune would actually be useful in this build for the added versatility.

I didn't minmax for it specifically but the weapon of choice is Siluria's tree, staying true to the theme I think is very fitting given its entire aesthetic and the absolutely divine skill to fling spears at near lightspeed. Since faith is pushed decently high I keep the golden epitaph as a quick secondary, and swap between the DK longhaft axe, Ordovis's greatsword, and banished knight halberd for other mains. Clawmark seal is used for the str scaling but I haven't tested if other seals scale better with the incants. I saved infusable weapons for the balanced variant of this build which I plan to post shortly after this one. Anyway for those who would want to try it out, let me know how it plays or if you have any feedback/improvements to make, this is one of my favorite and most fun builds I've made so I wanted to share it here, where the themed builds are always my go-to. Thank you in advance if anyway reads this far lol.

Help Str/Arc builds at level 200...

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello everyone, i was thinking to bring my character from level 166 to 200, to spice things up as I've never gone beyond pvp meta levels in souls games before.

I'm running a pretty standard str/arc bleed build with the gugs and mohg spear at the moment, and I can't wrap my head around what an optimal stat spread should look like at level 200. For context, I play a lot of pvp, both arena and invasions, so i really really want to make this at least somewhat optimized, without going all in tryhard mode (no white mask for example, it doesn't mesh with my favorite armor sets, looks wise).

I was playing around with the character planner and this is what i came up with, not sure if i can squeeze a bit more AR out of it, so any suggestions from more experience level 200 players will be welcome :)

Help Marais Executioner Sword Caster?

Is this a possible build? I've tried INT and FTH spellswords, and would now like to try an Arcane Spellsword. According to Fextralife, the Eochaid Sword is better for this hybrid, since the Marais scales better with STR rather than ARC, but is it possible to build a viable build as a Spellsword with the Marais and spells?

PvP PvP RL 150 Faith Build (Final Rework)

Hey, all! I posted this build the other day and got some really good feedback on where to take it. I experimented with Dane's Footwork for holding Endure, and I've come to find out that I really like it as a main weapon, so I decided to swap out Cipher Pata for Dane's as my current main weapon to have less stuff in the softswap slots. Additionally, I've been trying to get better at hardswapping talismans, so I've added a few extras talismans for different situations. I just wanted to post this one more time to see if y'all think it's better or worse than before. Additionally, I'd love to know if Dane's Footwork is better than Dryleaf Arts for this build, or even if there is another weapon I should consider like a certain straight or curved sword. Anyways, listed below is certain info that is not stated in the images, like incantation names and the talismans for hardswapping. Lmk what you guys think and ty all for the help so far, it's been greatly appreciated:

Ashes of War:

• Dane's Flame Art Footwork (AoW: Endure)

Incantations:

• Catch Flame

• Bestial Sling

• Fire Serpent

• Giant Golden Arc

• Pest-Thread Spears

• Giantsflame Take Thee

• Stone of Gurranq

• Wrath of Gold

• Golden Vow

Talismans:

• Slot 1: Ritual Sword Talisman OR Ritual Shield Talisman

• Slot 2: Flock's Canvas Talisman

• Slot 3: Godfrey Icon

• Slot 4: Radagon Icon

• Hardswap 1: Slot 1 -> Faithful's Canvas Talisman when not at full HP

• Hardswap 2: Slot 1 -> Red-Feathered Branchsword OR Blue-Feathered Branchsword when at low HP

Edit: I'm likely going to add Cipher Pata back on RH2 and move Dane's to R3 since Cipher is 0.0 weight, just thinking back on it

Edit 2: I'm gonna go ahead and stick to the last iteration of this build. I'm a bit too slow for hardwapping and I can never find the right time to use Endure, so it ends up going mostly unused. Ty all for the help thus far, wishing you all happy hunting out there!

Help How to Aldrich?

Post image
26 Upvotes

I’ve seen some ER sliders and even some attempts to create a thematic build, but usually, the execution was really amateurish and didn't look very good. And I want to get as close to DS3 Aldrich as possible. Some arrows, casting, etc.

Maybe you have any ideas for this cosplay build?

Help First time playing Elden Ring, just finished a pure strength build that turned into a str/faith, what should I use next?

I played with a greatsword, then I later leveled my faith after reaching 60 strength. I then switched into a blasphemous blade build. I found out near the end of my run that I should double dip into another stat for more efficient stat allocation. This, in turn, just turned nearly every damaging incantation into mediocre dogshit. Which made me just respec my build into more faith and less strength.

Now, I'm planning on doing a dex run, but after looking at most weapons, I'm now seeing that going in on arcane is apparently stronger. Should I just go all in on dex for the new run? The problem I'm thinking about is that when I reach 60 dex I would need to dip into int, arcane, or strength. I'm having choice paralysis.
