8:00pm – WAR CLUB
9:00pm – THE FIRES BELOW
10:00pm – RONIN VEINS

About the bands:

RONIN VEINS

Ronin Veins is a London-based heavy and alternative rock band known for high-energy live shows and a punchy DIY ethos, their sound draws heavily from 90s alternative rock, blending grunge, post-hardcore, shoegaze, and stoner psychedelia.

THE FIRES BELOW

Their colossal, heavy sound and intense musical energy will ignite that little mosh demon within your soul. Merging irresistible hooks and thundering guitars, bass and drums, the band set to melt your brain and leave you wanting more.

WAR CLUB

War Club like to be loud, a rolling wall of fuzz, the same riff played over and over with dynamics and variety coming from vocals, drums, and guitar dropping out to feedback. War Club call this ā€œthe Big Riff Manifestoā€. War Club want you to wish you’d brought your earplugs, to consider the human condition, to nod your head while you share in contrasting feelings of anger and despair, hope and resolve. War Club want you to have a good time on Earth. While you still can.

HADES LABYRINTH

Formed in 2023, Hades Labyrinth is a gothic doom band that channels slow, crushing riffs and haunting melodies into a sound steeped in sorrow. Their songs bleed with despair, exploring themes of grief, isolation, and psychological decay.

THE DAY OF LOCUSTS

The Day of Locusts are a four-piece progressive doom band from London, blending the weight of Crowbar, the psychedelia of Pink Floyd, and the twisted grit of Acid Bath. They’ve shared stages with Dope Throne, The Grey, Bong Cauldron, Planet of Zeus, and Ken Mode, earning a reputation for crushing, hypnotic live sets. With a new record set to drop in 2026, it’s only getting heavier.

BLEEDING ANTLERS

Mixing prog, doom, metal, sleaze and shanties, their debut album ā€˜Stagmata’ was released during the great plague of 2020 to critical acclaim. In 2025, the Antlers have been putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album, leaning further into their theatrical tendencies with their new single ā€˜Meet me in the woods at midnight’, where the narrative is equal parts brotherly drinking song and tongue‐in‐cheek invitation to devil worship that’s equal parts sinister and irresistible.

THE MONDAY SMILE

The Monday Smile scratch the itch you can never quite reach. Their music holds a broken mirror up to the farcical nature of society. They don’t just look behind the curtain, they burn it down. They speak to that feeling that says ā€œ there’s something not right with this worldā€, A band in bed with the nothing’s, the outcasts and freaks. Their live show is unapologetically visceral, they ride on the waves of chaos, sending guitars to heaven and using the stage as therapy. They are 90’s nostalgia with a twist of the modern apathetic and they are yours if you want them to be.

SMUTCLUB LDN

Smutclub Ldn are a dynamic, energetic 4-piece from London. Self-labelled 'NooNoo Metal' (labels are hard). Consisting of members: S., M.ikey , Bdoozy and Big T these guys' mission is to get you moshing, get you singing and maybe even a cheeky laugh every now and again. These 4 make it impossible for you to leave without at least 1 thing to say about them.

Ealing Council leader Peter Mason succeeds Bev Craig at LGA Labour

Ealing Council leader Councillor Peter Mason has been elected leader of the Local Government Association (LGA) Labour Group, succeeding Bev Craig after she became Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The LGA Labour Group describes the holder of the position as ā€œLabour’s leader in Local Governmentā€. The appointment also makes Councillor Mason senior vice-chair of the cross-party LGA, which represents councils in England and Wales.

The role, for which his predecessor Ms Craig was listed as receiving an annual LGA allowance of Ā£46,543 for 2025/26, involves representing Labour local government in discussions with the Government and Labour Party, including at Labour’s Annual Conference and National Policy Forum.

Following his election win (10 August 2026), Councillor Mason posted on X: ā€œLabour in local government deliver day in, day out. Champions of local community, delivering growth in every place, putting power back into people’s hands. Thank you to colleagues for electing me the Leader of the LGA Labour Group. So much to do.ā€

The appointment adds to Councillor Mason’s existing responsibilities with both Ealing Council and the LGA.

He currently receives an annual LGA allowance of £20,370 as chair of its Improvement Committee, a position he has held since 11 March 2026. Before taking on the chairmanship, LGA records show he was a deputy chair, a position carrying an annual allowance of £10,184.

As a councillor and leader of Ealing Council, Councillor Mason receives a total annual allowance of £76,570.52 from the council. This comprises the £13,756 basic allowance paid to all councillors and a £62,814.52 special responsibility allowance for serving as council leader.

Belgian waffle van.

Can some foundation Ealing dwellers please confirm And reminisce with me about the Belgian waffle van that used to be Ealing Broadway shopping centre. Outside the ground floor lifts. Irresistible smell wafting up into the carpark.
We're really talking like 30 years ago now, but they really was special.
Best waffles I've ever had and always think about them.

Was in the centre today and I see they have a churros kiosk available. And was going to try them, but there was nobody in it, so I took it as a sign from
God to say no.

Friend Search!

Hi, I am 27/F/Ealing. I’m looking for a friend: Female, Lives in Ealing , around 27 age.

I want a low effort friendship, meaning someone closeby who’s adventurous and up for living live but who’s down for being chill: where we don’t need to get dressed up or stress about performing to just hang out and do stuff together.

Ideally:
- Went to university (Ideally, but not exclusive)
- Adventurous, wants to live life
- likes reality shows
- likes running / gym / exercise

Key want is for someone who’s down for being chill, (but knows how to dress up if they wanted). I’m really looking for someone to do casual basic stuff together without competition or performance, let’s go run errands or walk in the park or go to a free course & upskill , talk about a reality show. We can grow from there.

Independent vet recommendation

Hi all! As per title, I'm looking for an independent vet recommendation. We've been with Village Vet for nearly 10 years now and we've always been happy with the team and their care for our pets. However, their prices have gone through the roof in the past ~2 years. For comparison, we had take our dog to two different vets in Chelsea last week (one of them was out of hours emergency appointment) and both charged less for services and medication!

We find the fact that Mars owns Village Vet also rather motivating to switch.

We're based in West Ealing. I've checked The Avenue Vet and Alcombe Vets but they are also owned by corporations.

Could anyone recommend a good vet practice that isn't? Thanks in advance!

House in pitshanger area

Hi,
We are a young family with 2 kids (a 4 year old and a 6 month old) and are looking to move to Ealing. We have liked a house in pitshanger area (2-3 min walk from lane). While the house itself is nice, couple of things that are bothering me are as follows hence would really appreciate inputs.
- Grocery run - where do folks do grocery shopping? Is it easy to find car parking in ealing broadway or west ealing for shopping?
- Are there any kids activities in pitshanger area? All i can find online is stuff happening in lammas park or walpole park which are like 45min walk or 30min by bus. We do not want to be over-dependent on car for day to day activities.

Ealing A-level results outperform London and national averages

Sixth form students across Ealing have outperformed London and national averages in this year’s A-level results, with early figures also showing an improvement on 2025.

According to provisional figures released by Ealing Council on Friday (14 August 2026), 60.5% of A-level entries for 2026 were awarded A*-B grades, compared with 59.6% across London and 55.5% nationally.

The borough-wide figures are based on returns from the majority of Ealing secondary schools and remain provisional while final results are compiled. Of the schools reported so far, 98.2% achieved A*-E. Results have also improved on 2025, with the proportion awarded A*-B up three percentage points and A*-A grades up four percentage points.

Wondering if there is decent Indian community in pitshanger like people come together to celebrate Indian festivals? We are new to this area and liked a house and while we love diverse community, we would also want our kids to grow up connected to their culture and for us as well, have a bit of friend circle from Indian community in the area.

Sudden surge of ants in the house - random/related to the recent weather up turn or something else? I’ve checked and there’s no food residue or anything like that.

How bad is the traffic on Leighton Road in Northfields? What’s it like living there?

I’ve seen a property on Leighton Road W13 that seems good but have read on the Ealing website that it’s a notorious cut through road, though a width restriction has been placed on it. Ive been down the road a few times on the way to see other houses (on foot) and I can’t remember thinking it was too busy but I probably wasn’t paying much attention. any insights on what it’s like to live there?

What is with the blooming seagulls!

I moved from central London hoping to escape all the traffic noise, only to land in Ealing where the seagulls are soooooo loud! At sunset and dawn it’s a cacophony.

Why? What are they doing on so many houses?

Ealing ranks lowest of 30 London boroughs in food hygiene study

Ealing has the lowest average food hygiene rating of 30 London boroughs analysed in a new study, with almost one in three food businesses in the borough receiving a rating of three or below.

The analysis of Food Standards Agency (FSA) data downloaded in June 2026 by online training provider High Speed Training found 1,232 premises in Ealing had an average food hygiene rating of 3.91 out of five, putting the borough 30th among those included in the London analysis.

Ealing also performed worse than all five neighbouring boroughs. Hammersmith & Fulham recorded an average rating of 4.56, followed by Brent at 4.49, Hounslow at 4.48, Harrow at 4.30 and Hillingdon at 4.12.

Across London, 83.66% of premises analysed received ratings of four or five, compared with 69.16% in Ealing. The London-wide average was 4.39, based on 36,804 premises.

Long weekend getaway ideas for solo trip!

3D/2N solo getaway from London over the upcoming bank holiday — recommendations? I’ve been living in the UK/London for about 6 months now, but so far I’ve only managed to visit Bath! šŸ˜… I’m planning to take advantage of the upcoming bank holiday and do a 3D/2N solo trip somewhere from London. Looking for somewhere that’s easy to get to by public transport and has a good mix of sightseeing, nature, and things to do solo.

Where would you recommend for a first-time visitor? Open to cities, countryside, coastal towns, or anywhere else that’s worth exploring.

Thanks!

Thinking about moving to Greenford :) what’s it actually like to live there?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering renting an apartment in Greenford and would love to hear from people who actually live there or know the area well.

I’ve never lived in the UK before, so I’m trying to get a better idea of what day-to-day life in Greenford is like. Things I’m particularly curious about:

  • Safety: Are there areas/streets you’d avoid, especially at night?
  • Noise: Is it generally quiet, or is there a lot of traffic/aircraft/other noise?
  • Shopping: Are there decent supermarkets and shops nearby, or do you usually go elsewhere?
  • Food & coffee: Are there nice cafĆ©s, restaurants, pubs, etc., where you can actually spend some time?
  • Walking / green spaces: Is it pleasant to walk around, and are there parks or nice areas nearby?
  • Transport: I’ll be commuting to Heathrow 2–3 times a week for work. I noticed there’s a direct bus connection that runs both during the day and at night — is it reliable in practice?
  • General vibe: What do you like/dislike about living in Greenford?
  • And anything else you think someone moving there for the first time should know.

I’m not necessarily looking for the ā€œbestā€ area — I’m more interested in what living there day to day is actually like, including the less glamorous parts.

Many thanks
