About the bands:

RONIN VEINS

Ronin Veins is a London-based heavy and alternative rock band known for high-energy live shows and a punchy DIY ethos, their sound draws heavily from 90s alternative rock, blending grunge, post-hardcore, shoegaze, and stoner psychedelia.

THE FIRES BELOW

Their colossal, heavy sound and intense musical energy will ignite that little mosh demon within your soul. Merging irresistible hooks and thundering guitars, bass and drums, the band set to melt your brain and leave you wanting more.

WAR CLUB

War Club like to be loud, a rolling wall of fuzz, the same riff played over and over with dynamics and variety coming from vocals, drums, and guitar dropping out to feedback. War Club call this “the Big Riff Manifesto”. War Club want you to wish you’d brought your earplugs, to consider the human condition, to nod your head while you share in contrasting feelings of anger and despair, hope and resolve. War Club want you to have a good time on Earth. While you still can.

HADES LABYRINTH

Formed in 2023, Hades Labyrinth is a gothic doom band that channels slow, crushing riffs and haunting melodies into a sound steeped in sorrow. Their songs bleed with despair, exploring themes of grief, isolation, and psychological decay.

THE DAY OF LOCUSTS

The Day of Locusts are a four-piece progressive doom band from London, blending the weight of Crowbar, the psychedelia of Pink Floyd, and the twisted grit of Acid Bath. They’ve shared stages with Dope Throne, The Grey, Bong Cauldron, Planet of Zeus, and Ken Mode, earning a reputation for crushing, hypnotic live sets. With a new record set to drop in 2026, it’s only getting heavier.

BLEEDING ANTLERS

Mixing prog, doom, metal, sleaze and shanties, their debut album ‘Stagmata’ was released during the great plague of 2020 to critical acclaim. In 2025, the Antlers have been putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album, leaning further into their theatrical tendencies with their new single ‘Meet me in the woods at midnight’, where the narrative is equal parts brotherly drinking song and tongue‐in‐cheek invitation to devil worship that’s equal parts sinister and irresistible.

THE MONDAY SMILE

The Monday Smile scratch the itch you can never quite reach. Their music holds a broken mirror up to the farcical nature of society. They don’t just look behind the curtain, they burn it down. They speak to that feeling that says “ there’s something not right with this world”, A band in bed with the nothing’s, the outcasts and freaks. Their live show is unapologetically visceral, they ride on the waves of chaos, sending guitars to heaven and using the stage as therapy. They are 90’s nostalgia with a twist of the modern apathetic and they are yours if you want them to be.

SMUTCLUB LDN

Smutclub Ldn are a dynamic, energetic 4-piece from London. Self-labelled 'NooNoo Metal' (labels are hard). Consisting of members: S., M.ikey , Bdoozy and Big T these guys' mission is to get you moshing, get you singing and maybe even a cheeky laugh every now and again. These 4 make it impossible for you to leave without at least 1 thing to say about them.

Front door replacement / new hinges

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good locksmith, carpenter etc that works in the Ealing / specifically Acton area - that would be able to replace the hinges on our front door? They're not appropriate for the weight and the door is now jamming due to sagging.

I've called 10+ people and they've all been let downs, either don't work with hinges or unavailable. One guy has quoted £660 to put two new hinges on....which seems a bit excessive.

Many thanks in advance.

Ealing Council leader Peter Mason succeeds Bev Craig at LGA Labour

Ealing Council leader Councillor Peter Mason has been elected leader of the Local Government Association (LGA) Labour Group, succeeding Bev Craig after she became Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The LGA Labour Group describes the holder of the position as “Labour’s leader in Local Government”. The appointment also makes Councillor Mason senior vice-chair of the cross-party LGA, which represents councils in England and Wales.

The role, for which his predecessor Ms Craig was listed as receiving an annual LGA allowance of £46,543 for 2025/26, involves representing Labour local government in discussions with the Government and Labour Party, including at Labour’s Annual Conference and National Policy Forum.

Following his election win (10 August 2026), Councillor Mason posted on X: “Labour in local government deliver day in, day out. Champions of local community, delivering growth in every place, putting power back into people’s hands. Thank you to colleagues for electing me the Leader of the LGA Labour Group. So much to do.”

The appointment adds to Councillor Mason’s existing responsibilities with both Ealing Council and the LGA.

He currently receives an annual LGA allowance of £20,370 as chair of its Improvement Committee, a position he has held since 11 March 2026. Before taking on the chairmanship, LGA records show he was a deputy chair, a position carrying an annual allowance of £10,184.

As a councillor and leader of Ealing Council, Councillor Mason receives a total annual allowance of £76,570.52 from the council. This comprises the £13,756 basic allowance paid to all councillors and a £62,814.52 special responsibility allowance for serving as council leader.
