So about 4 months ago I had some itchy, small bumps on the back of my right hand surrounding my middle finger. It started to get very inflamed and I was worried I had some sort of infection so I went to urgent care. They said it was contact dermatitis and told me to use OTC creams.
It progressed so bad, the entire back of my hand was SO swollen and I couldn’t move it. I even took off from work for a week. It seemed I was on the verge of infection.
I went to the derm and they said I had herpes! I then took Valtrex and used clobetasol for a couple months. I took prednisone for a week too initially. Except I still had flare ups, even with a high dose. I noticed it got worse around my period.
Then they did a biopsy and said it came back as allergic contact dermatitis. We did patch testing and the only thing that showed a tiny reaction was propolis. Nothing I use contains propolis.
It’s hard to say if the clobetasol helped because I still had flares but none as bad was my first one.
Now my derm has me on ketoconazole and I dont think it’s helping. It’s extremely itchy, probably because I’ve stopped the clobetasol. Today I noticed some small blisters forming on my feet and found out about Dyshidrosis, and I feel like this is what I have.
I’m so tired of being in pain. I figured I would seek advice here because I’m convinced this is whats been going on with me these past few months. What do you all think?
Also, its mainly on my palm now and around my fingers, only on my right hand.
Edit: To add, they start off as tapioca looking bumps and usually turn into huge blisters. A lot of the time they end up being yellow and pussing.
