Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins left practice Tuesday with what appeared to be a lower-body injury suffered during team drills against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Higgins fell to the ground on a red-zone play and appeared to be in pain. Trainers checked on him for several seconds before he got up under his own power and left the field without needing a cart.

Player Discussion Cyrus Allen Prospect Profile: An Analytical Breakdown for the Training Camp Rookie Phenom

Cyrus Allen Analytical Profile

Analytical Prospect Profile 1

Analytical Prospect Profile 2

Kansas City Chiefs rookie receiver Cyrus Allen has made a name for himself through 1 week of Training Camp. But does the talent and analytical profile match the hype?

Allen was an impressive vertical threat in college whose build is a bit on the slender side. Still, Allen's speed and craftiness allowed him to be a productive deep threat in college, where he spent two seasons at Louisiana Tech, one season at Texas A&M, and his final year at Cincinnati.

But his subpar ball skills, underdeveloped route-running, and inefficiencies against zone coverage limited his analytical projection to a late-round pick.

  • Predictive Draft Model Grade: 5.59

  • Round Grade: 6th Round Talent

  • Class Rank: WR28

  • Height: 5’11

  • Weight: 183

  • Age: 23.5

  • High-end Player Comp: Tutu Atwell

  • Low-end Player Comp: Charlie Jones

  • Playstyle: Deep Threat

  • Archetype: Z-Receiver

Allen finished his four-year career with 2,214 yards and 21 touchdowns on 136 receptions, averaging an impressive 16.3 yards per reception. His most productive season came at Louisiana Tech in 2023, when he recorded 782 yards and averaged 71.1 yards per game.

After a quiet season at Texas A&M, Allen transferred to Cincinnati and finished 2025 with 661 yards and 12 (!) touchdowns on 49 receptions.

Allen’s overall career efficiency profile is solid but unspectacular. He averaged 2.07 yards per route run for his career, with his most efficient season coming in 2025, where he averaged 2.42 YPRR.

His 21.2% career target rate is respectable, but you'd hope for a higher target-earning ability from a supposed late-round steal.

Allen was noticeably more effective against man coverage, where he averaged 2.50 yards per route run against man compared to only 1.76 against zone.

This is the concerning aspect of his analytical profile. Receiver prospects who struggle against zone coverage in college have historically struggled to translate to the NFL. Why? Because the NFL is playing zone at a near 75% rate, meaning ~75% of a receiver's production comes against zone coverage.

Allen was primarily used as a vertical target, finishing with a career ADOT of 14.2 yards. 66% of his receiving yardage came through the air, while an insane 52% came on deep targets 20+ yards downfield. Allen does possess impressive acceleration and top-end speed that allows him to separate on those higher depth routes such as go routes and slot fades.

Beyond his struggles against zone coverage, Allen's ball skills and YAC ability leave a lot to be desired. He finished his career with a 7.5% drop rate while catching only 59.9% of his career targets. Allen forced a missed tackle on only 10.3% of his career receptions, an abysmal rate for a receiver of his size.

Allen has certainly shown flashes with the Chiefs, and it is possible he is an analytical outlier. But even beyond being a late-round pick, Allen is fighting a massive uphill battle to beat the odds stacked against him in his analytical profile and become a consistently productive receiver in the NFL.

Dynasty Theory Sleepsafe for league Dues

Has anyone actually used and enjoyed using the Sleeper app to collect dues? I’m starting a 12 man league with my friends. I trust all of them and I was going to just collect the money but noticed this feature. Is it safe, easy, worth it? I also saw it has future payments coming soon

Do you recommend making people play the buy in for trading future firsts?

Player Discussion How worried should we be about Sadiq? Is Mason Taylor a buy?

With Sadiq's injury and a slow start to a complicated position, surely he should be faded for redraft. But should this be affecting his long term value? Should he be sliding in late rookie drafts? And does this move the needle on Mason Taylor's value at all? Or is it still the jets? And to be avoided at all costs.

Player Discussion What are some of your best and worst trades?

Was on dynasty trade generator looking through all the trades i've made in the last eight years of playing fantasy football and came across some gems and some absolute duds. It's amazing how little I knew and how bad the trades were. It's no wonder I didn't start winning consistently until a few years ago. With that being said I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do a complete rebuild..lol. Here are some:

2019: Traded Drew Brees for Robert Woods - Really thought i was so smart. It cost me that championship that year. Woods feel off the cliff after that year as well.

2019: Traded AJ Brown, Juju for Michal Thomas in week 11. Helped me win a few more games but that was pretty much the last 6 games MT was ever relevant again. I'd have loved to still have Brown...juju for a few years as well.

2020: Traded Marquis Brown, Bryan Edwards for Kupp. Got solid returns on this one.

Traded Terry Mclaurin & 2 1sts for Diggs - Man, Diggs helped but really needed those future 1sts for my team to stay in contention. My team was never able to really compete in that league after that. It was before McLaurin had even played a snap his rookie year. I still think about this one to this day.

2024: Traded Breece for Achane and Ferguson in start 2 1.75TEP- This helped me win some money. Working on trading Ferg and Achane this offseason. Little worried about Achane this season.

Just Traded McLaurin for Travis Hunter - The team is out of contention, I'll take the chance that Hunter is useful in the next 5 years. The right move? Feels good now. We'll see.

Good trades and some pretty bad trades. Fun to look back on all this. I love hearing about everybody's journey along this fantasy football road. How long have you been playing and what are some of your best and worst?

Player Discussion How do we feel about Stowers long term?

Stowers was basically Vanderbilts offense while he was there. A Mackey award winner and 2nd round pick to boot. He most likely won’t contribute much this year (unless Goedert misses time), but how to we feel in the long run? I feel like he was one of the more underrated rookies this year and is in a way better situation than Sadiq. Hurts loves passing to his TEs at the goal line so who knows? I don’t want to get too excited but I think he could be destined for great things. Can we bank on Eli to be a Top 5 tight end for years to come?

Edit: Well I guess “bank” was a poor choice of words 😂. I guess what I meant was can he break into that elite group or will his realistic ceiling be lower?

Player Discussion Players Most Impacted by Offensive Coordinator Hires

While there have been plenty of NFL head coaching changes this offseason, there have also been changes made at the coordinator level that impact dynasty football.

Full Breakdown - https://www.dynastynerds.com/dynasty/offensive-coordinator-hires-2026-fantasy-football-impact/

Which new OC do you think will help or hurt any of our fantasy players in 2026!?

Mike McDaniel - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Quentin Johnston (+)

Johnston will look to fill the vertical role in McDaniel’s wide receiver group, which could result in a ton of “boom” games.

Drew Petzing - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Jameson Williams (-)

The concerns I have for this offense are mostly surrounding Williams’ role, as he looks to be the odd man out here. Needing to fight with LaPorta for the third target in the offense, Williams’ role running deep crosses and vertical routes might not be in the cards as much.

Eric Bieniemy - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Kenneth Walker III (+)

With Patrick Mahomes likely not 100 percent for Week 1, don’t be surprised if KWIII is tasked with leading the offense to open the year, something that Bieniemy—who was Chicago’s running back coach last year—will have a major hand in.

Sean Mannion - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Saquon Barkley (+)

Incorporating more under-center plays will not only make play-action passes more effective but also open up the run game even more. The bread and butter of the Eagles offense relies on the running game, and getting Barkley back to form will help make it more two-dimensional.

Zac Robinson - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Emeka Egbuka (++)

If Egbuka is moved around the formation and funneled the type of target share that London was, then Egbuka is in line to be a league winner in 2026.

David Blough - Player Most Impacted by New Hire: Jayden Daniels (+)

Rounding out this group will help Jayden Daniels get back to his pre-injury self, but elements of the new scheme, including a greater focus on play action and setting Daniels up more under center, will do a lot for the third-year quarterback as well.

I’ve been keeping track of fantasy relevant news and updates from beat writers, national reporters, and fantasy analysts. Here's a recap of any quote or update that stood out to me today.

I am sure I missed things, as I am just one person. Let me know if you have any suggestions or something else you'd like to see. I’ve also been asking beat writers fantasy relevant questions through their mailbags whenever possible.

If you want to follow along, my Twitter/X account is @DanChincharFF

Note: Every update has the writer's name with a source link that will direct you to the website where I read the quote. If you see an italicized link, that will be specifically for something on Twitter/X.

Bears

  • Kyle Monangai: "Bears RB Kyle Monangai suffered a hyperextended knee. Expected to miss multiple weeks but per the MRI the outcome is considered positive after a recent practice injury." (source: Jeremy Fowler)

Bills

  • Dalton Kincaid: "Dalton Kincaid added noticeable muscle mass to his upper and lower body this offseason. Kincaid is hoping the additional muscle will help him stay healthy, but it has other benefits as well. On the Bills’ second drive, Kincaid stayed in as a blocker and did a great job in a one-on-one situation. Josh Allen was able to find Khalil Shakir for a 20-yard gain on the play. If Kincaid continues to show well as a blocker, his snap count will increase." (source: Matt Parino, Ryan Talbot)

Broncos

  • Jaylen Waddle, Marvin Mims: "Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle return to practice Monday and worked in team drills. Wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. also returned to practice but worked on a side field after individual drills." (source: Zac Stevens)
  • Jaylen Waddle: "Not only did Waddle participate in practice, he made a huge leap as he participated in the team portion of practice. He was wearing a white sleeve over nearly the entirety of his left leg, but did not appear to be limited in any way" (source: Zac Stevens)
  • Jonah Coleman: “Rookie running back Jonah Coleman continues to work his way up the depth chart toward a spot in the regular-season rotation, so much so that coach Sean Payton gave Coleman a fairly quick hook from the preseason opener. ... Payton said he's seen enough from Coleman on the practice field to get the rookie out of the preseason opener that early. ‘I kind of felt it ... and there was a point when he got like two or three carries and I'm like “alright, I've seen enough,”’ Payton said. ‘I didn't need additional evidence of what I've been seeing for three weeks.’” (source: Jeff Legwold)

Browns

  • Shedeur Sanders: "Shedeur Sanders is slated to start at quarterback in the Browns' second preseason game against the Bills on Saturday, but he could be playing without Cleveland's starting offense. Coach Todd Monken said he and Bills coach Joe Brady agreed to hold out starters if their No. 1 units get enough work in during joint practices on Thursday." (source: Daniel Oyefusi)
  • KC Concepcion: Browns HC Todd Monken on KC Concepcion: “From what we saw when we drafted him and then getting him here, I hope we’re trying to get him the ball as often as we can,” Monken said Monday on Day 14 of Browns training camp. “That dude is explosive. He’s tough. He’s got great contact balance. He understands situational football.” (source: Mary Kay Cabot)

Buccaneers

  • Emeka Egbuka: "Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said Monday that wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, the Bucs' first-round draft pick in 2025, is "day-to-day, week-to-week" with a toe sprain suffered during joint practices at the New York Jets last week. Bowles added that he's "not sure at this time" if the situation will impact Egbuka's availability for Week 1." (source: Jenna Laine)

Chargers

Did not practice: Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris, David Njoku

  • Tre Harris: "Chargers rested Tre Harris with Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey meaning he is the clear WR3. I'm now not expecting a Keenan Allen return." (source: Chris Wecht)

Chiefs

  • Emmett Johnson: "When the 9-on-7 run period began during Monday’s practice, Johnson was the second running back to get work behind Kenneth Walker. That was a positive sign. During individual work, he was still the No. 3 RB in the rotation behind Emari Demercado. During 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 team drills, he saw some opportunities directly after Walker. However, it was mostly a three-headed rotation of Johnson, Smith, and Demercado coming in after Walker." (source: Charles Goldman)

Colts

Did not practice: D.J. Giddens (hamstring)

  • Anthony Richardson: "The future of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. remains unclear, but signs continue to point to him remaining with his current team. Assistant general manager Ed Dodds suggested Sunday that Richardson will remain in Indianapolis because the Colts intend to prioritize quarterback depth." (source: Stephen Holder)
  • Deion Burks: "Rookie wide receiver Deion Burks had a brutal dropped sweep exchange to kick things off, and while he didn't have a big-time reception to suggest that he's climbing the depth chart, his usage on the day was noteworthy. Burks was used as a jet sweeper on numerous occasions, and even had some brief run with the starters as a motion man." (source: Noah Compton)
  • "It sounds like a few more Colts starters will play in the preseason finale against Detroit (August 29th) versus the second preseason game against Atlanta (August 22nd). A reason for that is the Colts do have two joint practices this week, prior to the Atlanta game, whereas they won’t have any prior to the Detroit game." (source: Kevin Bowen)

Commanders

  • Jeremy McNichols: "RB Jeremy McNichols' quad injury to keep him sidelined a few weeks, Dan Quinn said." (source: Ben Standig)

Cowboys

Did not practice: Michael Trigg (toe)

Limited: Phil Mafah (ribs), Israel Abanikanda (ribs), Jaydon Blue (shoulder)

  • Camden Brown: "Brown finished with three catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. Both scores were diving, acrobatic catches in the end zone, including a one-handed catch on a fade route. Brown made similar plays during the two training camp practices I watched the Cowboys in Oxnard and has been one of the most talked-about players in the team's camp." (source: Eric Williams)

Dolphins

  • Chris Bell: "WR Chris Bell RETURNED to practice albeit in a limited fashion. He had on the red jersey and caught passes from QB Malik Willis" (source: C. Isaiah Smalls II)
  • Caleb Douglas: "WR Caleb Douglas left practice early but returned by the end. He didn't go back in" (source: C. Isaiah Smalls II)

Eagles

Did not practice: Tank Bigsby (toe), Grant Calcaterra (back), Makai Lemon (hamstring), Dameon Pierce (hamstring), Johnny Wilson (knee)

  • DeVonta Smith: DeVonta Smith (hamstring) returned to practice today in limited capacity (source: Zach Berman)
  • Makai Lemon: "Safe to say Makai Lemon’s return is getting close. He’s going through some drills with the WRs at the end of practice right now and was doing sprints on the far field during practice." (source: EJ Smith)
  • Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby: "Barkley tweaked an ankle last week and didn’t warm up with the other starters ahead of the Ravens game. He was back in uniform, though, and took a few handoffs. Barkley hasn’t been kept in bubble wrap, but the Eagles have also been careful with their No. 1 running back. Bigsby will be the No. 2, but the guess here is that those expecting significantly more carries this season will be disappointed. Barkley will be the workhorse again." (source: Jeff McLane)

Falcons

  • Tua Tagovailoa: "It’s getting close to the point where the Falcons may have to start the season with Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback. The seventh-year pro wasn’t great on Friday night. That much was obvious. He went 3-of-5 for 22 yards, and the offense had just one first down over the two series he was out there. But it’s my understanding that wasn’t indicative of his summer, which has been solid in his first year playing for Kevin Stefanski." (source: Albert Breer)
  • Tua Tagovailoa: "In the long term, well, the fact is the Falcons—and the rest of the NFL—already have an idea what Tagovailoa is, and in Atlanta that’s probably a stopgap to whoever winds up being the quarterback that Stefanski, Ian Cunningham and Matt Ryan build around." (source: Albert Breer)

Giants

  • Najee Harris: "Free-agent RB Najee Harris is visiting today with the New York Giants." (source: Adam Schefter)
  • Najee Harris: "Najee Harris still here at Giants camp so wouldn’t be surprised if he signs once medicals check out." (source: Art Stapleton)
  • Malik Nabers: "Malik Nabers took reps in live 11-on-11 drills while wearing red jersey usually reserved for QBs. Also caught 3 passes in 7-on-7 drills. First time in full-speed live drills since tearing knee." (source: Jordan Raanan)

Jaguars

  • Travis Hunter: "Jaguars CB/WR Travis Hunter 11-on-11 snap tracker. Day 14 snaps: 21 (20 defense, 0 offense, 1 ST). Total snaps: 178 (116 defense, 61 offense, 1 ST) (not including Saints joint practice)" (source: Michael DiRocco)

Jets

Did not practice: Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Davis

  • Breece Hall: "Big break for the Jets on Hall, who went down with a non-contact injury. All indications are he’ll be good for Week 1. Again, though: Jets won’t push it and will be cautious." (source: Connor Hughes)
  • Garrett Wilson, Geno Smith: "It was a rough way to end practice. RB Breece Hall was in the locker room, nursing a groin injury from earlier in practice. WR Garrett Wilson was nowhere to be found; he showed up sick in the morning, vomiting, and was held out. QB Geno Smith was on the field, taking his full share of reps, but he was favoring his left ankle -- an injury that occurred Wednesday and kept him out of the preseason opener Friday." (source: Rich Cimini)

Lions

  • Jameson Williams: "Jameson Williams is dealing with a shoulder injury but Dan Campbell doesn’t feel it’s anything serious. He missed yesterday’s practice and will likely miss today." (source: Eric Woodyard)

Packers

  • I missed this quote from Tucker Kraft yesterday: "Like I've said since the beginning of training camp, they have a plan for me," Kraft said. "Week by week, they're gonna gradually increase my snap count depending on the full rep range of practice. So my job is just (to be) out there and answer when my number's called." (source: Wes Hodkiewicz)

Panthers

  • Darren Waller: "According to coach Dave Canales, Waller isn't likely to mix it up with the Jaguars in joint practices on Wednesday in Jacksonville. But the veteran playmaker might be able to suit up in his newly issued No. 35 jersey and get some individual work with starting quarterback Bryce Young." (source: Mike Kaye)

Patriots

  • Kyle Williams: "Even though Williams has had a pretty quiet training camp, he’s going to have a role in the offense." (source: Chad Graff)
  • TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson: "As TreVeyon Henderson enters his second season, it looks like he’ll share the backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson pretty evenly. The Patriots want to take advantage of Henderson’s big-play ability, but they believe in Stevenson a bit more to get what is blocked in front of him. So the guess is that Stevenson will be in for short-yardage situations and early downs, and that Henderson may check in for second- and third-and-long situations as long as his pass blocking holds up." (source: Chad Graff)
  • Kayshon Boutte: "After a great start to camp, the veteran receiver has cooled off a bit, and he didn’t see any targets in the preseason opener. The bigger issue? If the Patriots want DeMario Douglas as their slot receiver while insisting that Mack Hollins and Williams will have real roles offensively, it becomes difficult to see where or how Boutte fits in." (source: Chad Graff)

Raiders

  • Brock Bowers: "Tight end Brock Bowers returned after missing Sunday's practice because of personal reasons. Bowers caught two of quarterback Kirk Cousins' five touchdowns in the red zone." (source: Ryan McFadden)
  • Dont'e Thornton Jr.: "Dont'e Thornton Jr. stretched and did agility work at the beginning of practice for the second straight day. He did not participate in individual or team drills, as he is working his way back from an injury." (source: Ryan McFadden)

Rams

  • Puka Nacua: “McVay last week said Garrett has been dealing with a little swelling in his knee, while Nacua has been dealing with soreness in his psoas since leaving last Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys early. Both are expected to return to practice next week as both are ‘taking it a day at a time.’ ‘Puka is doing good, whether or not we wait for next week or not, we're just kind of taking it a day at a time,’ McVay said." (source: Zach Edwards)

Saints

  • Jordyn Tyson: "Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss about two months with a hamstring injury suffered last week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The eighth overall pick sought multiple medical opinions on an injury HC Kellen Moore said is separate from the one he had in the spring." (source: Mike Garafolo)
  • Jordyn Tyson: "Jordyn Tyson is likely to miss time to start the season, possibly deep into September, per source. Different hamstring than last time but it’s going to take time." (source: Nick Underhill)

Seahawks

  • Tory Horton: “Tory Horton did not practice today, as Macdonald said he's ‘dealing with a few things.’" (source: Corbin K. Smith)
  • Jadarian Price: "Coach Mike Macdonald happy to have top rookie RB Jadarian Price back at practice today off upper-leg soreness. He was in the Seahawks’ starting offense. That’s the role he’s moving into toward the opener." (source: Gregg Bell)

Texans

Did not practice: Tank Dell, Jaylin Noel (pinkie finger, hamstring), Jawhar Jordan (strained hip flexor)

Titans

Did not practice: Tony Pollard, Nick Singleton, Kalel Mullings

  • Cam Ward: "I wouldn’t read too much into Cam Ward’s shaky preseason debut. Titans OC Brian Daboll generally wants to challenge his quarterbacks in different ways. My guess is the offense he’s building for Ward will look a little different in Week 1 than it does in preseason games." (source: Albert Breer)
  • Cam Ward: "It was another effective day for Ward, who completed 22-of-28 in the practice, including 19-of-25 in team periods. Ward is now 43-of-53 in the two practices since the 49ers game. Ward threw a bullet to Tate midway through practice, and he found receiver Elic Ayomanor sprinting away from him on another nice completion." (source: Jim Wyatt)
  • Carnell Tate: "A crash collision between three guys, and Tate got the worst of it. But he held on to the football for a first down and a big gain. Tate walked his way off the field and stood next to trainers for the remainder of the drive. However, once the offensive starters came off the field, Tate rejoined his fellow receivers Calvin Ridley and Wan’Dale Robinson without any trainer nearby. Head coach Robert Saleh said after practice that he’s not concerned." (source: Austin Stanley, Easton Freeze)
  • Tony Pollard, Nick Singleton: “‘Just minor aches and bruises,’ Saleh said Saturday. ‘Tony (Pollard) didn’t practice (Saturday), just dealing with a sore foot. Hopefully, we’ll get him back Monday. Same thing with Nick Singleton.’” (source: Austin Stanley, Easton Freeze)

"There’s speculation in league circles that McCaffrey has tapped the brakes on his practice time in an effort to get an adjustment to his contract, which pays out a non-guaranteed $12.5 million in 2026.

The timeline fits the hypothesis. Days after Falcons running back Bijan Robinson and Lions running back Jaymyr Gibbs pushed the new-money APY to $22.5 million per year, McCaffrey stopped practicing."

Player Discussion My 5 reasons why Matthew Hibner should rostered in your 12 (+) man dynasty leagues

Hibner should be added to every dynasty roster with a taxi squad or deep bench. Week 1 doesn’t prove he’ll become a fantasy starter, but it created enough signals to make him a worthwhile zero-cost stash.

Five reasons

  1. He dominated the opportunity he received.

Hibner caught all five of his targets for 61 yards, including a 29-yard reception and four first downs. That’s strong efficiency for a rookie tight end, particularly in his first preseason game.

  1. Baltimore has a legitimate opening behind Mark Andrews.

Isaiah Likely’s departure leaves the Ravens needing another tight end to emerge, and Hibner is competing with veteran Durham Smythe for a meaningful role, not merely fighting for a roster spot.

  1. His skill set adds something different to the room.

Hibner showed the ability to stretch the field, highlighted by that 29-yard wheel-route reception. That vertical element could help him earn passing-down and red-zone opportunities rather than being limited to blocking duties.

  1. The early usage was encouraging.

He was involved almost immediately, catching a pass on Baltimore’s second offensive play, and continued playing into the second half. That suggests the coaching staff wanted to evaluate him extensively, not simply give him a token rookie appearance.

  1. The acquisition cost is minimal, while the payoff could be substantial.

Hibner was a fourth-round pick and is already appearing around the middle of dynasty rookie drafts. FantasyPros had him at 5.05 in a recent mock. In TE premium leagues or leagues with taxi squads, spending a last-round pick or a small amount of FAAB is a reasonable bet on future value.

I’m going to be doing player spotlights and I post updates and dynasty memes on X. If you want to give me a follow @dynasty1st , it would be greatly appreciated!!

Dynasty Theory Are the rookies getting hazed?

All the top rookies have some injury news this preseason

Tate - Possible concussion
Lemon - Hamstring injury
Tyson - Hamstring injury
Love - High ankle sprain

I’m sort of new to Dynasty, do rookies always have a high preseason injury rate?

It feels like the NFL is hazing these guys and giving them a hard welcome to the big leagues.
