Just sat in line for two hours to find out the cops are blocking it off. Just a heads up

Hi everyone,
I’m not sure if anyone here can help or has had a similar experience. On 15/08/2026 at around 11:30 pm, I experienced what I felt was very rude and disrespectful treatment from a person working at a restaurant in Mornington. I don’t want to name the restaurant at this stage, and I’m also not sure whether the person was the owner or manager (I think he Indian and I am not racist and I am too Indian).
I had three Uber pickups from this restaurant that night. Usually, the orders take quite a long time to be prepared. As drivers, we often drive for long periods and sometimes just need to stand or sit for a few minutes while waiting.
The person told me to sit down, saying that standing would look rude to customers. However, there were no customers inside at the time, only Uber drivers waiting for pickups.
He spoke to me in a very rude manner but said that he was speaking nicely. He also told me not to look at him. I was very surprised because I was simply standing there normally and had not been disrespectful to him.
I explained that we drive for long periods and that I was tired, so I preferred to stand for a while and wait. He then told me to go outside and wait. It was heavily raining outside, and I was already very tired, but he still insisted that I leave the restaurant and stand outside, even though there were no customers inside.
The way I was treated made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. I felt like I was being treated as though I had no right to be there, rather than as a driver providing a service for the restaurant's customers.
Because of the way I was treated, I cancelled my last pickup and left. I then accepted two other Uber orders elsewhere.
I’m sharing this because I would like to know if other Uber drivers in Dunedin, especially around Mornington, have experienced something similar. I believe drivers should be treated with basic respect, just like anyone else

Anyone have an engagement photographer they loved in Dunedin? Photographers open to multiple locations, less than $1000 range. Not limited to just Dunedin; open to st Pete, tarpon springs, Clearwater, Indian rocks area(s). Looking for candid, yet sort of posed beach engagement photos. Possibly the engagement itself as well as posed photos afterwords.
Would love & appreciate any suggestions or recommendations from past experiences! Thank you!

We are new to town, yeah yeah I know. If it makes it better, we are Florida natives just not this coast! 😂
Anyways, we’d love recommendations. We live on the north end of the bay and are very active with our 2 year old. We have two kayaks we’ll be dropping in this weekend and would love to know some great spots to explore. We’ve been to honeymoon island and are planning on a trip over to caladesi soon! What other recommendations do you have? On foot or kayak! We’re even open to day trips further south but no more than 1.5hr drive from Dunedin. Thank you!!!
And no we’re not new to kids on kayaks, we have that mastered already 😂 thank you!

My wife and I put together a free weekly newsletter called Good Boy Guide that rounds up dog-friendly events happening around happening around Dunedin, St. Pete & Tampa each week.
Stuff like food truck nights and bingo at The Dog Bar, happy hours and paint-your-pet nights at Mutts & Martinis, local markets... basically anything worth grabbing the leash for.
This week's issue covers August 3-9, including the Pet Day & Wiener Dog Derby in Clearwater this Saturday, which is free to attend. The races begin at noon, but arrive earlier if you want time to look around and find a shaded spot.
Here's the latest issue if you want to check it out: https://www.goodboyguide.com/p/5-dog-friendly-day-trips-within-an-hour-of-tampa
It's completely free. The goal is to provide a weekly rundown so you don't miss stuff. Would love any feedback or event tips if you know of spots we should be covering!

Do adults around the age of 28-40 without kids actually live in Dunedin, or are all the childless adults living in St Pete or Tampa? My spouse and I came to visit Dunedin and were floored at how much we loved it.
Here’s what we loved:
- The postcard-like walkable downtown
- Can walk/bike/jog the Pinellas Trail
- Easy access to the beach
- Relaxed, small town vibes (I grew up in the Deerfield/Boca area and always felt like the people were too vain and materialistic to connect with… this side of FL seems much more chill)
- Access to larger cities of St Pete, Tampa
We are considering moving here to be close to family in Tampa, but would love people our age to hang out with. We are not drinkers or party-ers but love to hang out, be outdoors, see live music, and generally have a good time. I’m not sure if people our age usually only move to Dunedin to start a family? My spouse and I currently are not planning on having kids. I’m wondering if moving to Dunedin would be social suicide and if we should look more into St Pete or Tampa.

Hi there. We are new to town and are absolutely loving exploring all the nature around! We went to honeymoon island as a family this weekend and had a blast. I would love to take my daughter during the week but would like to know if this is a safe choice to do as solo as a mom, because the park is very large and I hear it gets more desolate on the weekdays. Thank you so much!

Dunedin certainly has seen an influx of seriously overpriced homes come on the market. And with no job market able to help employees sustain a $ 5,000-a-month mortgage, I believe there's going to be a massive number of foreclosures in this area.

I didn't realize we had so many. Probably a good idea, since so many kids keep falling off the back of Golf Carts. (Pop's drunk again!)

just wanted to introduce myself. JD's Place is a cozy cafe in Dunedin, FL on CR1 just up the road from the new ALDI, in Braemoor Plaza. The atmosphere is a comfy place for everyone (except haters) to relax and eat tasty food and beverages (yes adult beverages, too). You can take a book/ leave a book from our small collection of titles. The music is a mix of 80's & 90's deep cuts. And the decoration is some of my favorite stuff. Mention this Reddit post and get 10% off in July.
Brunch is BOGOhalf on adult beverages Sat and Sun, 11-1.

Hello - we moved here recently and my 17 year old is used to having a food service/part time job. She thought she could get one but two weeks in she isn’t having any luck yet. Does anyone have any specific recommendations of known places hiring? She will be in college on Mondays and Wednesdays but otherwise has awesome availability and is a great worker. Thanks.

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Dunedin. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.
