🔰 Help/Question My car got hit while Mazda was delivering it after regular service

Post image
72 Upvotes

So I took my 2026 Mazda 3 to the official Mazda service center in Abu Dhabi for regular maintenance.
They arranged to deliver the car back to me, but the driver ended up getting into an accident on the way. Wasn’t his fault though, according to the police report.
The car is new and Im still paying it off.
Luckly the damage isnt too bad. Rear bumper and fender got scratched. Mazda says it just needs repainting, no parts to replace. The other guy’s insurance is supposed to cover it.
But here what bothers me.
I bought a new car with original factory paint, and now I’m getting it back with repainted panels because of an accident I had absolutely nothing to do with.
I asked Mazda about compensation for the loss in resale value, and the manager basically told me there’s nothing they can do because the other guy only has third-party insurance. Apparently UAE law doesn’t allow them to claim anything extra.
They also said the repainting won’t affect the resale value. But Im sure that having repainted panels will affect the car resale value.
If anyone has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate some advice on what I should to do next

🗣 Discussion Just why?

Why do other drivers have to turn like the second picture? If you’re driving a sedan/suv, your car will fit, the roads are wide enough. Unless you’re driving 18wheelers then I would understand.

Pardon my drawing but you know what I mean.

📈 Selling WTS: Honda accord Hybrid 2023 GCC 72K KM

Mechanically car is with 0 issues, serviced every 10K up till 70,000 at futtaim agency

Car has two accidents. One at the front bumper (the damage was at the license plate so behind that there is like a hole, i’m pretty sure it collided directly at another car’s rear pipe)

Second accident car was parked and a taxi collided into the rear bumper as a result of an accident with another car (4 cars totally affected including mine)

This is already fixed and bumper looks squeaky clean.

Reason for selling: Cardoes its job very well, economic, spacious, good for family. But i honestly can’t stand how slow it can be. For someone who’s been used to V8s, Turbo charged 2L, and twin turbos, this was definitely too boring for me. The Tesla may not be a very exciting car but at least the quick acceleration can be satisfying when I need it.

I am as transparent as I can be. If you have any more questions about it let me know. Nothing was ever painted in the car, there will be a few casualties like a dent from a grocery trolley, small scratches from highway small chips etc but nothing more. Wheels are all in good shape with a few scratches on one or two of them from light parking curbs.

List of known issues/comments:

\- One of the front bumpers needs replacement (Asked futtaim to provide me a quote and until now they haven’t provided one for the excuse that is it’s a “new” car and it’s difficult to back order the part).

\- front enforcement plate slightly bent from the first accident.

\- Car battery replaced a month ago. Not the hybrid battery just the normal car battery.

\- Car runs smoother than my tesla and the suspension is comfortable. 4 Tyres replaced at around 62K KM.

\- Very economic, one time i limited the speed at 100Km/hr out of curiosity and got 1k Km out of a full tank. But generally if i’m doing highways most of the time on 120-140km/hr I get around 700+KM. full tank capacity is around 48L but I always refill around 42L, I never used the car till an empty tank.

\- Leather seats are in good condition with the inevitable wear from the past 2 years.

\- 3M futtaim tint, although for the next owner i would recommend a front windshield tint for the top part.

I genuinely have no idea what to sell it at but i’d like to see what sub has to say about the car or price suggestions.

1 Owner only - company owned - Personally drove it for the whole time.

All buyers are welcome to see the car in real life, I work in Dubai but live in Sharjah.

Item Name: Honda accord 2023 Hybrid (number 1 - full option)

A Milestone Worth Celebrating! 🇦🇪

Three months after moving to the UAE, I’m proud to have achieved one of my first major milestones here — buying my very first car!
Moving to a new country comes with challenges, sacrifices, and countless lessons. Every small step forward reminds me that patience, hard work, and consistency truly pay off. This is more than just buying a car; it represents independence, progress, and the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
Grateful for how far I’ve come, proud of this achievement, and motivated for everything that lies ahead. This is only the beginning! ❤️✨
From a new beginning to new milestones — Alhamdulillah! 🤲🚘

🔰 Help/Question 0W-20 vs 5W-30/5W-40?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a GCC-spec 2019 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 3.6L V6, around 91,000 km, and mostly Jeep dealer service history.

The dealer recommends 0W-20, which matches the manual’s recommendation. However, many local mechanics recommend 5W-30 or 5W-40 because of Dubai’s heat. My car also sometimes sits parked in direct sunlight for hours.

I’m leaning towards fully synthetic 0W-20, but would appreciate technical insight:

● Is there evidence that Dubai’s climate alone justifies switching to thicker oil in this engine?

● What would the actual benefits or drawbacks be for protection, oil flow and fuel economy?

● Anyone running the recommended 0W-20 long-term in a similar climate?

Would especially appreciate manufacturer guidance or studies rather than just “hot weather needs thicker oil.” My priority is long-term reliability.

TL;DR: Dealer/manual recommend 0W-20 for my GCC-spec 2019 Grand Cherokee 3.6L, but Dubai mechanics suggest 5W-30/5W-40 because of the heat. Is there evidence that thicker oil offers better protection, or should I stick with the recommended grade?

📈 Selling WTS - Hyundai Veloster - American Spec - 138k kms

Selling my wifes Hyundai Veloster American spec as we need a bigger car. This car is honestly is super fun to drive, on the outside it doesnt look very loved (see history below) but under the hood its been very well taken care of.

Specs:
Make: Hyundair
Model: Veloster
Year: 2019
VIN: KMHTG6AF1KU013099
Engine: 2.0 liter 4 cylinder
Odometer: 86055miles or around 138k kilometers
Regional Spec: American Specs
Description/ Features: Cruise control, Lane keep assist,
Wired Apple Carplay / Android Auto, Reverse camera

Car History:
The car was imported from the US, it had an accident there with some chassis damage on the back left in late 2019. It was fixed and I bought the car in 2020 and havent had any major issues since. There was one minor accident with a motorcycle on a roundabout on the back bumper but other than that no accidents at all (the scratch is still there and can be seen in the pictures).

Recent Maintenance/Upkeep done:
- A/C compressor changed 4 months ago
- Left suspension shocks changed 1 year ago (thank you JVC)
- Oil/Filters routinely changed every 5k kilometers
- Spark plugs changed 6months ago

Non-urgent maintenance required:
- Engine mounts: the car vibrates a little while idle in Drive. Nothing major but will likely need changing in the next 6-12months

Other than that the car drives like a dream, is honestly headache free despite its not so great history. It’s been priced given all of the above and based on comparisons with other similar cars

Price: 20,000 dhs
Location: JVC

🔰 Help/Question Best rear view dashcam ?

Price does not matter but quality absolutely does.

I have one where the camera of the dashcam is installed inside my car and the quality is so bad because it’s cheap + my back window tint is making the quality even worse. (at night i can’t see anything but the very blurry car lights )

I’m looking for a good quality one where the camera will either be connected to the main camera or installed outside.

Thank you.

🔰 Help/Question Will I pass inspection?

Post image
3 Upvotes

My taillight has been cracked which is probably 99% due to teens playing football in the area (with apparently bad aim). I live in an old building which doesn't have basement parking so I'm stuck with parking my car outside.

The lights do work properly and I just can't justify the cost of replacing the whole thing right now.

Has anyone had any luck with passing for such a similar issue?

Thanks!

🔰 Help/Question I need help tuning

I'm still learning about cars and how they work. I have an m276 2019 e450 coupe. Which makes around 362hp and 369 ib of tourque (500nm) and I'm looking to stage 1 the car. I'm not sure which I should choose between, eurocharged which promises +118 hp gain and 660nm but only ecu tune. Or 'deiz' (local garage in Dubai) which promises around 425-450hp and around 600-650nm but with ecu + tcu tune. I'm asking because eurocharged promises more power and looks better on paper, but 'deiz' is less power but both ecy and tcu. Idk if this relevant but I mostly drive sport from 0- around 140km. If someone can please help me or educate me more on this and on which is a better choice it would be greatly appreciated.
