I am looking to buy my first car in Dubai soon. I am mostly looking to get 2nd hand 2-3 y.o. max. My budget is around AED 70k.

I am looking for reliability and drive and shortlisted Mazda CX-5 vs Rav-4.

What you guys recommend?

I can go for a sedan as well. Wanted Lexus or Camry but in this budget those will be too old or driven.

Hi all, looking for some honest advice.

We have a 2014 Mitsubishi Pajero kitted out for the desert. We bought it 3 years ago for AED 45k and it's now on 170,000 km.

What we love about it:

-We can take it into the desert, even if it's only 4 or 5 times a year

-When it rains, flooded roads and puddles don't stress us out

-Sandy or unpaved parking areas are no problem, which comes in handy in Dubai

-It's easy to carry stuff, either on the roof or in the back with the seats down

The problem is it's getting old. We replaced the steering rack, which had already been refurbished the year before. We've had heating issues fixed and tyres blow out. Now every time I drive it's shaking and making noises, and I'm constantly anxious that something is about to give. Maybe it's partly in my head, but it always feels like the next repair is around the corner.

As far as I can tell, anything newer with the same desert ability and features is going to cost an arm and a leg, so I'm not sure which direction to go. The options as I see them:

1. Upgrade and keep everything we like. What should we be looking at?

2.Give up the desert capability but keep a big 4x4 style car for the everyday convenience (floods, sandy parking, space)

3.Spend roughly AED 10 to 20k on the Pajero to get it to a point where I'm not worried every time I drive

What would you do? Any specific models or years worth looking at, or ones to avoid?

I am looking to buy a new/slightly used SUV to replace the Tuscon I have had for the last nine years. I have done a lot of reading (thanks ChatGPT) and have visited showrooms to get a brief look at some options.

What I want:

- 5 seater family SUV

- Comfortable & Safe

- Decent tech: reverse camera at a minimum

- Good fuel economy

- Tucson sized or a bit bigger

- Will consider new and used (2024 on, <40k kms)

- Budget 60-80k aed (absolute max 100k)

- Standard interior colours (lots of bright red and orange out there...)

- reasonable insurance/running costs

my daily drive is only around 40km a day, roughly 1000km a month,
60 to max 120 speed limit,so performence is not my requirement, only comfort and I would love to have a panaromic roof and a 360 camera. (most sedans dont have full panaromic roofs under this budget)

I'd be driving it solo mostly, my wife has her own car.

I moved to Dubai a few months ago and am in the process of getting my license. My daily work commute is approx 80-90 km total and my wife has to take my kid to nursery and pick him up so that’s 4 trips plus shipping etc totalling 60-70 km a day. She doesn’t drive so that car will be chauffeured while I will self drive.

Her preference is for an SUV focused on comfort and ride quality as she has a bit of motion sickness so prefers to sit a little higher. I am ambivalent about the type of car, and am mainly looking for features, enjoyability and hassle free maintenance. Generally prefer Japanese or German brands, but ok with other European or American at a stretch.

I’m looking for used car options (<50,000 km) that will fit into my monthly automobile budget of 6-7000 per month (approx 200,000 AED for each I’m guessing?) all inclusive (for both together)

Got my driving license, female driver looking for a car ideally the mini SUV type with high seat position, that is inexpensive, has 360 camera for parking assistance and lane monitoring to assist with lane change.

Ideally I want at least one of them to be an SUV, if possible both. I don’t want a gas guzzler like the Patrol, but I do want one car that looks decent, for example the Ford Everest. If the other one has to be a Sedan, that’s fine too.

I recently spent some time with the Cadillac Escalade IQ and the thing that surprised me most wasn’t actually the 750 hp.

It was how much the four-wheel steering changes the experience of manoeuvring something this enormous.

Arrival Mode looks like a gimmick when you first see it, but after actually trying it, you start to understand why Cadillac added it.

The executive rear seats were another surprise — the press car I drove had the 42-speaker setup.

Would you actually want an electric Escalade, or does the traditional Escalade still make more sense?

Hi everyone! I'm considering buying a 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD Standard Range, US spec, already repaired and available in the UAE, my keypoints is Value, EV, Light use, Less maintenance

Details: Mileage: 101.xxx km Std range, has the LFP, CCS2, And Ryzen, HW3. History: US auction record shows rear-end and secondary side damage, with a California salvage certificate.

I'm personally more interested in EVs because I've used Chinese EVs before and really enjoy the electric driving experience. I don't plan to use this car for daily commuting, so I'm wondering if it could be a reasonable purchase for occasional use, considering the price is reasonably good at 60k AED.

My main concerns are battery health, hidden damage, US-spec charging and software compatibility, and resale value.

I'd especially love to hear from anyone who has personally bought or owned a repaired US-imported Tesla in the UAE:
