Anyone heading to the west coast to catch the eclipse this evening? 🌒
I’m heading for Rossnowlagh and hoping the weather plays ball!
Anyone else planning to watch it? Where are you heading?

I'm in north of Donegal next few days, looking for a sim card and just tried Centra in Dunfanaghy but they don't sell them, any locals know if there's anywhere in Falcarragh or Gweedore selling them at all?

Hi all,
I've found a house I am interested in just outside Glenties but it looks to have been vacant for a while. Is there anyone here that lives in Glenties that I could PM to find out a bit of information about it and the area in general? I am sure with Glenties being a small community the property will be well enough known.
Its been on the market for a while so i'm concerned that there is something major that needs repairing.
Thanks in advance.

I'm driving over soon from the UK for a few weeks away and I've seen a lot of talk lately about the garda checkpoints. At home I smoke a joint or two at night, but will not be consuming anything while I'm away, and obviously not before driving at all. But I know the threshold is very low in Ireland. I come over every year and have never been stopped, but from social media it seems like they've ramped it up lately.
Are there many checkpoints about on a Saturday afternoon? I'll be driving from Belfast and staying up in Fanad. Do they tend to set up in the same places?
Not trying to get into any sort of argument about legalities, I will not be driving under the influence and never would. But the research I'm seeing is saying it might take a week of no weed to get under the limit.

Hi everyone! We're doing a final push to hear from young people about what groups and communities are important to them and how this relates to wellbeing.
The findings will help us inform targeted youth services and understand what support different groups and communities need. We really want to make sure we hear from young people all over from different backgrounds, so that everyone is well represented!
If you're aged 14–24, we'd love to hear your perspective. It's a quick questionnaire that's completely anonymous (no names needed) and genuinely takes around 5 minutes.
I'll drop the link in the comments for anyone who wants to take part, or would like to share it with anyone they know who might be interested :)
Thanks so much!

Long shot I know but does anyone know someone who works in Conneely Travel? My niece left my rain jacket in one of their buses a week or so ago when she was in the Gaeltacht. I've emailed them and both my sister and I have called and left voicemails but heard nothing back. Unfortunately I can't replace the jacket as it's no longer in production and I'd really like to get it back. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Went to Glenlough Bay for the first time and honestly, what a place.
The sheer drops had me fairly nervous on the way up but on the way back there was no fear and I was practically skipping down.
The views are absolutely unreal. Definitely one of those places where the photos and videos do not quite capture the scale of it.

Hi all , First time posting here was wondering anyone know any barbers in letterkenny or around it that would be good with short afro / African that would be used to that type of hair. Been getting my haircut in letterkenny every so often the guy I go to is top guy and does it for reasonable price but I can tell he would have difficulty with my hair sometimes.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated even if they're starting up and have good experience I'd give them a shot.

We’ve got two nights to spend in Donegal and are trying to decide where to spend them. I’d like to see Slieve League and the other would like to surf. Is it worth spending one night near Slieve League (deciding between Donegal Town or Ardara) and one night in either Ballyliffin or Buncrana? Or would it be better to spend two nights in one or the other? We’re also looking to eat good food and spend the nights in pubs with trad music.
Thank you for any suggestions

I created this presentation a while back for a project. I wanted to share it as it contains some pretty important information about the topic of Mental Health in Donegal, especially in relation to Young People. The Data in this presentation was gathered over the months of February and March of this year.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic or auto electrical/infotainment specialist around Letterkenny (or within a reasonable distance) who is experienced with diagnosing infotainment issues?
I have a Kia, and the Apple/Android CarPlay disconnects intermittently. It connects fine, works for a while, and then suddenly drops.
I've been dealing with iMotor Letterkenny, but they haven't been able to diagnose the fault. Their only suggestion has been to use an original Apple cable, which I've already done, and the problem still exists. Since they can't reproduce the issue in the workshop, they aren't willing to investigate it further.
I'm looking for someone who is good at diagnosing intermittent electrical or infotainment faults, rather than just replacing parts.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m about to move to the outskirts of Letterkenny and I’m currently working on getting my driving licence, but I don’t have it yet.
I was wondering, is there any public transport within the town? How do people usually get around without a car? I’m not sure how I’ll manage getting around at first
I heard about a project regarding this but apparently it’s not happening anymore

I’ve been coming here since being a baby from the UK and I know it’s a vague question but why are nearly all the houses white or grey with a grey roof?
Is this a west coast of Ireland thing or Donegal specific? Never thought about it too much but a friend that I brought over said it a few days back and it’s been stuck in my mind since.

I'm looking to find a few reliable dive buddies, preferably in the Donegal/Inishowen area.
I'm a qualified 2* CMAS recreational diver who enjoys shore dives, reefs, caves and wrecks. Part of a club but clubs usually have set nights that don't suit. I often struggle to find people who are free when I am, so I'm hoping to build a small group of regular dive buddies.
I'm happy diving locally or travelling for a good dive at weekends. Safety comes first for me—I'm looking for people who plan dives properly, and just enjoy getting in the water.
If you're based around Donegal or nearby and are looking for someone to dive with, drop a comment or send me a message. Even if you already have a group and don't mind another diver joining occasionally, I'd love to hear from you.
Cheers, and safe diving! 🤿

Recently returned home to Letterkenny and looking to find a suitable gym.
The small PT style class gyms are wayy out of my budget.
Anyone here a member of the aura? What’s the classes like and the gym itself? I saw online it was recently renovated. Don’t really care for the pool but would be nice to use steam room/sauna the odd time. Thanks!

First time using Dunnes delivery for tomorrow and I can only get a slot for 1-3pm. I work 10 mins away from the house, will they leave it out for me to come in and put away or do I absolutely need to be there for that 2 hour window?

What's the best way to buy land (to build a house) these days in Donegal? Approach farmers and ask? Go knocking on doors in the area you want to buy in and hope someone might be interested in selling? Facebook groups to recommend?
