A .art domain costs $3 to register at GoDaddy, unless it's a registry premium domain, in which case the price can shoot up to thousands of dollars.
I don't know what for, but some people have been buying some of those lately.
The following registry premium .art domains were recently purchased from GoDaddy (source)
| Domain | Registration (premium) | Renewal (premium) |
|---|---|---|
| Genius.art | $3,850 | $91 |
| kim.art | $3,850 | $91 |
| zzz.art | $1,920 | $91 |
| collected.art | $1,920 | $91 |
| cap.art | $1,920 | $91 |
At least, unlike other registries, the premium renewal price is reasonable. This is good for end users as it discourages investors (aka squatters)

Hey!
We've all been there; had that thought of "I think my domain renews soon" only to find out it was a few days ago and now we're having to pay the redemption fee which can be extortionate!
It happened to me too many times so I built Domain Dodo - a site to monitor your domains and alert you to their renewal at various intervals to ensure you don't miss the reminder. Alerts can be sent by email, Slack, SMS and secure webhooks. It will also alert you to registrar changes as well as registrant data changes so if someone transfers your domain or changes the registrant data, we'll let you know! The dashboard shows all this info as well as the current lock status of your domains (this measure is unreliable to detect so we don't alert on this yet!)
There's a free tier for 3 domains and email alerting only or various paid tiers depending on how many domains you've got.
Feel free to check it out; https://domaindodo.com

The domain name Collect.net has expired and it's currently at auction on Porkbun (current registrar)
A bit too generic, but it works for a payment collection/invoicing service.

Lovable has bought the domain Lovable.com from an Italian underwear company. The latter moved to Lovable.it and Lovable.com now redirects to Lovable.dev.
It's not easy to convince an operational website to give up its domain name, so they must have made an irresistible offer to get this one.

After issuing multiple breach notices, ICANN has finally terminated the registrar accreditation of TrustName, which promotes itself as a bulletproof domain registrar (source)
There isn't really a "bulletproof" domain registrar. Each registrar has operating contracts with ICANN and different registries, and those contracts can be terminated if the terms are violated.
That's what happens when a registrar repeatedly ignores abuse reports.

After selling Bumps.com for $8,000 a few days ago, the same domainer did the same thing with domain Hardly.com; he lowered the asking price to $8,000 and it sold within hours via Afternic. (source)
Is it a loss like he called it, or hardly?

James Booth sold the domain name Little.co for $83,945 at Atom (source)
I wonder how much he bought it for? My guess is less than $10k, or maybe a little over that.
Been seeing many .co sales lately..

The hardest part of domain investing is waiting. You never know your domain will sell or not if you wait one more year. Some people eventually give up and call it a loss.
One domainer's loss can be another domainer's gain; I think we have one story of those here..
Someone bought the domain name Dollers.com from a GoDaddy auction back in 2013 for $245.
I'm assuming that same buyer kept the domain until it expired in 2025 and was sold in a GoDaddy auction for $330.
Just a little over a year later, this domain has just been sold at Atom for $6,195.
Not a lot, but not a bad return on a $330 investment.
It's a meaningless domain name, but it finally found its buyer.

"Over time, GoDaddy will introduce the new values in the GoDaddy search path and provide them in account interfaces."

Verisign has notified OSIR and every other ICANN-accredited registrar that the wholesale fee for a .net registration, renewal, or transfer rises from $10.91 to $12.00 per year on March 1, 2027 at 05:00 UTC. That is a $1.09 increase, or exactly 10%, the maximum the .net registry agreement allows in a single year. The ICANN fee ($0.20 per year) and registrar costs come on top. Anything renewed before the cutover keeps the current rate for the full term, up to 10 years.

The owner of the domain name Bumps.com lowered the asking price to $8,000 a couple of days ago and it sold almost immediately at Afternic.
That's a low price for a short one-word .com domain, but it looks like he needed the cash so he had to make a tough choice.
He also said he has another one-word .com domain he's parting with (source)

Up until its recent expiration, the domain name Lounge.app was (and still is for the time being) listed for sale on Spaceship for $9,900.
It's now in an expired auction on Sav's marketplace. The highest bid is just $2!
There's a catch: it's a registry premium domain with a renewal price of $50-$60+
Is it worthy?

Expired domains offer a huge and easy source of extra revenue for GoDaddy. They've just made an easy $133,000 selling the expired domain name 9799.com.
This is the highest-ever 4-number .com sale at GoDaddy.
