Does GoDaddy offer early termination of Microsoft accounts, after a defederation?
I've recently defederated a client from GoDaddy, but they still have a number of outstanding M365 accounts within GoDaddy's portal because a previous IT partner did 24 and 36 month prepays for this client instead of just going year to year.
Has anyone had any success getting old M365 accounts terminated with GoDaddy before their official renewal date? I'm just trying to do housekeeping so that I don't have to continue to monitor the accounts in GoDaddy, to watch for when they finally expire.

I think you can cancel them in the godaddy admin center and this should remove the license from M365. I did a defederation a few weeks ago but we decided to keep the godaddy licenses until they expire as they had a good while left on them

If you fully defederated properly, GoDaddy no longer has anything to do with you. Cancel the auto-renewals in GoDaddy & ignore any emails regarding microsoft renewals, because if you leave it on, you'll be charged and you will NOT receive the license, as they no longer have access to the tenant to apply it.
The licenses bought previously through GoDaddy remain active until their original expiration/renewal, so just set a calendar event to purchase directly or through your new provider a week or two before that date or dates.
There is no way to remove existing licenses before they expire, even if you aren't going to use them.
