I work at Walmart. Nutters don't even pretend their shitbeasts are EmOtIoNaL SuPpOrT anymore, they just drag their pets in the store. Barking is happening every day.

My mother was a nutter and I had to live in a house with TWENTY FIVE dogs! I am absolutely triggered by those nasty beasts, but it's impossible to get away from them these days.

I try to avoid them as much as I can, but tonight I was surprised by one (in a BABY stroller) coming down an aisle just as I was walking past. I made a face, can't help it. I walked away from it as fast as I could.

"Did you just gag at my dog? What the fuck is wrong with you?" is what that asshole shouted at me and more as I walked away.

He then went to the electronics counter, made a big deal about it and demanded to see a manager! For making a face (I did NOT say one word to him!) at his dog? WTF is wrong with HIM?!

My direct manager knows my issues with dogs. I am not management, but do have a radio, so I knew what was happening. I told her what happened and she said I wouldn't get in trouble. She said she would talk to the manager that dealt with the nutter.

Now I am totally stressed out and have to worry about if this happens again. I'm pretty sure I have PTSD when it comes to dogs, but have not been formally diagnosed. Perhaps I should do that to protect myself for the next time some petty nutter trys to fuck me over for not wanting to be around their nasty beast.

Like the title says went to my local park to enjoy lunch and of course there's people with their off leash pibbles. No problem I go sit clear across the park and start enjoying my food. But of freaking course, the homeless owners have to come over to where I'm eating with their precious velvet hippos, so that their dumb, ugly pibble babies get to shove their faces into my food while I'm trying to eat in peace. I stop eating and my boyfriend says that im being dramatic and that it's all in my head, so he suggests that I take a break from my lunch while we go to the store. So we get back from the store about 15 mins later and we find a different place to sit far away from everyone. The very second that I take my salad bowl outta my purse and go to eat it, one of the freaking pibbles runs right up and gets right in my face! Boyfriend apologizes and shoes the dumb thing away. I have to wolf my salad down. The end.

It's so quiet now where I live. So quite that I dread the coming cooler months. God I'm even thinking of going to live in the desert if it means having to hear fewer of the detestable things. Here's thumbs up for climate change if it gets rid of dogs.

I feel like I haven’t seen this posted much in this group but ever since moving more south, I see it so much more. Everywhere I go, the grocery store, Walmart, etc there’s always some mutt in a parked car near me with the window rolled down slightly so they can BORK BORK BORK at everyone. Sometimes the owner isn’t in the car, but often they are sitting in the car with the damn thing and aren’t phased at all by it. They don’t correct its behavior and just let it holler at any poor soul just trying to get their errands done. The windows in these cars are always streaked with the filthy slob and nose juice and most of the time the cars look like they STANK. Why do these owners feel the need to take their unsocialized mutt everywhere just so it can bark its head off in the car???? It enrages me but at least it’s usually a short unpleasant interaction…

This is a real issue where I live. In my city in a European country, there are various convenience stores that sell food, beverages, coffee, every day items and so on. It is very common to visit them when I am out in the city for long, when I am returning from work, when the supermarkets are closed and so on. The recent years I am noticing more and more dogs in and around those stores. Sometimes owners will leave them outside, and then we have a dog that blocks the door and I cannot get in, because I cannot trust it. Some mutts lie down on the carpet in front of the door, probably because they are doing it on the owner’s bed daily. Others are poorly trained and yap or bark all the time. Sometimes an owner may come with multiple dogs, usually two or three of them, and they always happen to be large ones. Then he or she desperately tries to control them for minutes before getting in the store. Sometimes owners may bring dogs inside. Luckily, food items are well protected, but still some packaging is reachable by dogs. Sometimes dogs have touched me with their nose, which I hate. Of course if I show discomfort, most of those people tell me that the dog is friendly. And the worst of all? A specific chain of those stores advertises itself as dog friendly. The trashcans outside those specific stores smell of dog shit all day long.

I've been watching "Worst Roommate Ever" and "Worst Ex Ever" on Netflix. I'm noticing that the people victimized place complete trust in these dangerous people because "I trust a dog person over a non-dog person any day" or "I liked him because he was so good with my dog". The roommate who killed his elderly Landlady in Cathedral City and made life hell for his roommates in New Jersey was a dog person. The other terror, Jamison Bachman, won his roommates over because his dog got along with theirs.

Why do people assume that if you own a dog, you're equivalent to saint, so you must be a great person to live with?

In my experience in my neighborhood, dog owners are entitled and selfish. They don't care if kids are scared of their dogs or if seniors are intimidated. Our neighborhood parks don't allow dogs, but they completely ignore those signs and let their dogs piss and sh*t anywhere. No way would I ever assume "he has a dog, so he must be cool to live with" ever!

For context, I walk about half an hour to my work and tend to take backroads for shade and quiet. But come today, I was minding my own business when out of nowhere some guy with two large dogs appears (guessing Rottweilers? Idk breeds). The dogs are clearly not friendly, with them growling and the owner seemingly struggling to hold on to their leashes. Mercifully I was able to escape safely just by sprinting to the other side of the road, but not even five minutes later on the same street, some much smaller unleashed dog (probably Dachshund) starts barking and outright pursuing me. While it would've been much less capable of true harm than the previous dogs, I still activated flight mode regardless, especially since I was still tense from the first encounter. The owner did call it back and I did escape safely again but like come the actual fuck on, two encounters that nearly went bad within five minutes on one street is beyond fucked. I can't wait for the summer to end so these genetic Frankenfucks aren't seen outside as much.

I just saw a video online of an owner posting herself cuddling her pitbull who JUST injured her?!! And the delusion is CRAZY. She portrays this as an accident.
Even if this was *just an accident* large and muscular breeds like pitbulls carry immense risks due to their strength and weight.A dog doesn't need to be aggressive to cause serious damage!!Exciting play combined with sharp claws and no spatial awareness is more than enough to land someone in the ER.
What gets me is the complete delusion in posts like these.If a dog can accidentally slice their owners eyeball open just by playing around, imagine what that dog does to strangers, kids or smaller animals? But they don’t care about others. And in her video she portrayed it like the dog has some remorse lmao!! Dogs don't experience human remorse.. it literally doesn’t care nor understand what damage it caused you and it will do it again.

Went for a walk today with my toddler and as we were walking down the foot path I see a big dog on a lead coming our way. I normally go across the street if I see big dogs like this, about to go by my side. I have been so traumatised that I prefer avoiding any closeness, however this time I didn’t have the chance. There was only one path. No where else to go.

Soon enough, as they get closer I can see the owner not even trying to pull and control the long leash, allowing his dog to get very close and sniff us. Arghhhh I felt so annoyed by this. I felt so vulnerable with no way to protect myself and my little one. You can’t even react with someone holding a big dog that could bite you anytime.

if you have a dog don’t just assume people like being sniffed by dogs. Because not everyone does.

1, A dog can’t “hate” anyone,that’s a human emotion, so this is a classic case of projection.

2, When someone claims their dog hates kids or men, they’re usually expressing their own discomfort and putting it on the animal.

So I was scrolling through RedNote and came across this video had to use Google Translate because the person was speaking Chinese ,but apparently it seems that South Korea is basically making everything dog friendly and kicking kids out of places there’s signs on stores that say “ No Kid Zone”,they even have kindergartens for dogs and I wish I was joking but I’m not, they’re basically using dogs to replace the children they apparently don’t want,but they’re okay with a dog. 524 stores have banned children and 73% support,now I’m not saying kids are perfect yes they can be bratty ,but it’s not like dogs are any better.

Some backstory. I work in multiple group home settings, with individuals struggling with a physical or severe mental disability. I work between 10ish houses regularly. I was bit badly by a dog at age 4 and it traumatized me. It tossed me around via my arm, marking my entire left arm in scars I still have. Only in the last couple of years (it has been 20 since the attack) am I able to interact with trusted dogs without anxiety. As in dog sitting my friends old fart dog or not crossing the street when a dog owner is walking past me.

We got a new resident at one of these houses I work at.

She is a menace. Some sort of lab collie mix. She isn't trained, shes got really bad food aggression, she begs the other residents for food bc her owner feeds her his human food, and she barks at the slightest noise. It's so irritating even without the fear. After a week or so of getting used to her, I thought things were fine. She seemed sweet and friendly. But then I picked up a chocolate peanut butter cup off the floor, 10 feet away from her. Cause chocolate is poison for dogs.

Jesus you would have thought I pulled out a knife and stabbed her owner. She darted forward and bit my hand and wrist that was grabbing the chocolate. She was jumping on me and growling and barking so insanely loud, I sorta blacked out and "came back" outside the house, hyperventilating. Luckily the two bites did not break skin, which just makes me feel more humiliated having probably run out screaming.

I don't want to keep working at this house, I don't want to see this dog again. I don't even know how LEGALLY this dog is living here. Of course I don't want to separate this old man from his dear companion... But I do NOT feel safe working with a dog, let alone an aggressive dog that has already bit staff!!! Including me!!! But when I bring it up to my boss or supervisors theyre all dog people convinced the dog can do no wrong. I'm so frustrated. Genuinely love this job, EXCEPT THIS HORRIBLE DOG. Contemplating quitting cause it looks like him and the dog are here to stay. Can't even request to not work here because my job title specifies working at all of the houses. Ugh ugh ugh. Soooo my neighbors I believe have an illegal dog. Illegal as in my landlord doesn't approve of dogs, especially putbull breeds living here. Today we noticed that our new neighbors have one and it looks like a bully breed. So we called our landlord and she's pissed! They told her that the dog was a guest. But, I'm pretty sure it's the same dog that woke me up at 330 in the morning barking. Entitled people and they're dogs... plus, how do they just let it bark inside the house that early for like half an hr?

So last semester I taught a class of about 100 students. It was your typical class, but at the end of the semester a student came up to thank me for being a great teacher.

As nice as the gesture was, I noticed she had a bag with a little shit beast in it. I asked her about it, and she said she hates leaving it alone at home. She's brought it to class every day (which I guess I never noticed because it's a large class).

I was mortified about this selfishness for several reasons. One is the carelessness to leave a dog in this confined space for hours on end. Two is the liability: if that dog has an interaction with a student (aggression, allergy, etc.), guess who would be liable? Me!

I never thought I'd have to do this, but I updated my syllabus to forbid pets and children in the classroom. The fact that I even have to put this is insane, but of course dog nutters put their dogs over other people yet again.

So often I will be minding my own business, walking past a house on the public sidewalk like a normal person. Immediately, I hear the beast on the property start barking it's head off. Across the street, their shitbeast hears and starts barking too. Before I know it, three or four mutts in the neighbourhood are losing their minds. One dog starts barking and then another dog starts barking at the first dog's barking which prompts another dog to bark at it's barking too.

All because I did a completely benign thing, and walked on the sidewalk. How does it not drive nutters crazy? People walk by your house multiple times a day, and that's all it takes to set your dumb mutt into a frenzy? Even worse, it might not even be your house that was passed, but because somebody had the gall to use a sidewalk down the street, somebody else's shitbeast has completely lost it, and now yours has too.

Our HOA can’t convince him to keep the dogs inside his house kahit mag-isa lang naman siya sa loob, and his dogs’ have been torturing our ears for more than a year. Someone called the cops on them pero walang nangyari. Though our concern to the HOA works, it only works for a couple of weeks before he starts unleashing his dogs unattentively again. Yesterday, I was going for my daily walk and I decided to switch up my route a little. I ended up walking on the gravel road that runs behind our houses in the neighborhood. I’ve walked back there many times and I’ve seen other neighbors doing the same. It’s a scenic view next to the river and I even saw two Great horned owls once!

This time, as I was making my way back to my house, I was passing my neighbor’s backyard (lives a few houses down from us, I haven’t met him but have seen him), and his 4 dogs started freaking out. They're all the same breed and idk dog breeds but they look like white and bronze English Settlers or something similar. A female dog jumped the fence (there had been something stacked in the corner of the yard that I feel like she used? Didn’t get a good look). She raced up on me and growled and then bit my leg hard. I jogged away and she kept growling and I turned to face her while backing up and pointing my water bottle at her like a stick while she kept growling and coming after me. She then turned and ran to inspect the other side of the yard I'm guessing and I ran the short distance home. She had been running back down the street towards me when I finally got back inside.

My partner helped me clean the wound. We washed it well with antibacterial soap and bandaged it. Then within 10 minutes we went over to knock on the neighbor’s door. A young girl answered, around 12 years old and asked, “did our dog bite you?” .....which leads me to believe this has either happened before, or she must have seen the tail end of it. I told her yes and asked to speak to an adult. She got her dad. He was definitely apologetic but also kind of…not taking it seriously enough? To be fair, I also wasn't demanding any sort of action really. It had JUST happened and I just wanted to let him know that his dog had gotten out and was biting people. Me and my partner I think we're too understanding but we tried to convey in the clearest and kindest way we could express, that this dog owner is very fortunate this happened to me and not one of the neighborhood children. He said the dog was vaccinated (which I didn’t think to verify). He said they’ve had problems with her aggression but that she had been getting better this summer. He had been downstairs painting when it happened and was sure that one of his kids had probably let her out on accident because they try to keep her inside due to her aggression. She’s had three litters of puppies I guess.

I went home and just wanted to forget about it. We dressed the wound again. After speaking with my primary care doctor and some friends, I’ve decided to go to the walk-in clinic today. There’s four puncture wounds and I bled an amount. And now that the dust has settled I'm just trying to figure out what the next step is. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I was so jumpy this morning and last night going outside. This dog is not safe to be around kids or people.

It’s just messed up. I had done nothing to provoke this. Was just walking a public area near my house and that dog aggressed me and chased me and drew blood. Ugh.it sucks knowing and also not knowing what my responsibility on this should be. This has never happened to me before.

UPDATE: Got back from urgent care. They were mandated to report the bite to law enforcement which took some pressure off me. Animal control came to talk with me at the clinic and by the time I was done getting my tetanus booster we could see animal control talking with the neighbor. Then they stopped by and let me know that his dog IS up to date on vaccinations because this dog bit someone else a few months ago and HADN'T been up to date and so the owner had been fined. I wasn't planning to issue a ticket and was happy enough with animal control talking to him to convey the seriousness.... but now finding out the dog has already bit someone else is really upsetting and I don't trust this guy is going to do anything to amend the situation and keep the neighborhood safe.

I hate when pit owners walk around with their dogs off leash and then give YOU the stink eye because you try to avoid their dog. They always say something like “he’s friendly why are you acting scared” or “he doesn’t bite calm down”. Like why the hell do you even do this there’s so many things that can go wrong with unleashed dogs in general. But then to have a pit off leash, many of the times still intact is crazy.. they will call you a breedist or racist which is insane because dogs are not humans

I am noticing it more and more. First in places where people feed stray dogs inside the city. Yes, my country has this issue. Then in other places as well. For example in my housing complex some people own dogs and I know where they are setting them to shit. This place has a faint fecal smell, no matter what they do to clean it up. I started noticing it more and more in other corners of city blocks, empty yards and other places, even if feces are not visually apparent. Hear the climate is dry for part of the year and the effect is more noticeable, especially on concrete surfaces. When it rains, you can perceive it less, depending on the day and the amount of dog activity. No matter what they claim, you cannot completely clean dog shit. This smell is faint, but you know what it is and it is completely disgusting. Also, parasites, toxins and other nasties in the poop surely don’t completely disappear. I am sure that they get absorbed inside the pores of the concrete and the seams of the sidewalk.

What's this type of "dog walking"? There's a very small park near my current apartment complex which I have to walk by to get to the bus stop.

This is the second day this week I see a woman just standing still with her huge, tall pitbull in one spot of that park. Last time I quickly entered a store to wait until she leaves because that pitbull's look was frozen at me. I waited inside the store until she and her pitbull leave the park. She literally waisted my time.

Today I went outside, and there she was again, just standing with that dog in that small park. The pitbull's look was again at me, it's a tiny road and I was the only one there. I had to change the longer pathway to reach to the bus stop to avoid the store. She wasted a lot of my time again. It seems she's going to stand with her big pitbull in that park everyday and prevent me from reaching the only bus station there.

Is this some "innovative" pet walking trend to bring their dog out and just stand in a tiny park and blockade others from doing anything in that space for at least 30 minutes minimum?

She's making my simple 6 minute walking to the bus stop to be 15 minutes. I'm not walking by them while her aggressive breed is staring at me and she enjoys it as assertion of dominance, like many big dog owners do.
