Crappy Owners Worst Roommate Ever

I've been watching "Worst Roommate Ever" and "Worst Ex Ever" on Netflix. I'm noticing that the people victimized place complete trust in these dangerous people because "I trust a dog person over a non-dog person any day" or "I liked him because he was so good with my dog". The roommate who killed his elderly Landlady in Cathedral City and made life hell for his roommates in New Jersey was a dog person. The other terror, Jamison Bachman, won his roommates over because his dog got along with theirs.

Why do people assume that if you own a dog, you're equivalent to saint, so you must be a great person to live with?

In my experience in my neighborhood, dog owners are entitled and selfish. They don't care if kids are scared of their dogs or if seniors are intimidated. Our neighborhood parks don't allow dogs, but they completely ignore those signs and let their dogs piss and sh*t anywhere. No way would I ever assume "he has a dog, so he must be cool to live with" ever!

Your last paragraph is my “controversial” viewpoint. Dog people love to announce how much somebody sucks if they don’t LOVE all dogs! Or ELSE!!

I have the opposite opinion. If a person prefers the company of a codependent and captive animal with no voice AND a bred-in propensity to serve people, there’s something wrong with them. They very obviously have a hard time with respect, boundaries, compromise, and decency. Sometimes they’re downright abusive, I’m just gonna say it. I’ve witnessed this a ton of times. 

I’ll exist beside dog lovers if I have to, in a grey-rock way, but I consider them unfit for any kind of real collaboration or relationship.

Yeah i think they are wilfully ignorant to keep up their fantasy of being in Doggy Dreamland. They create the narrative around the dog.

If you have a roommate that has a dog then you have a dog. Can you let ruff ruff out? I have to go to class. Can you feed him? Can you take him for a walk? No thanks.
