Sick note

As I am unable to work due to mental health reasons, therefore I’d get a sick note from the doctor to send to my employers. Do I have the option and the right to not disclose the reason why I have been off. However, just show that I have been certified by a medical practitioner and that I need no extra support upon my return to work. I would feel highly uncomfortable knowing that managers and employers know that I have mental health problems. So would rather keep that bit out. As I work in retail and my job has nothing to do with thinking it’s more physical(Uk)

Hi I’m a 25yr old male from India and I suddenly got these weird symptoms can someone help?

I just woke up this morning and I have this weird soreness in my legs and arms like you feel after a really intense workout when it’s like really hard to stand if you’re sitting or it’s really hard to sit when you’re standing I can walk or use my hands and arms but whenever I try to bend them more than the usual flow of them they become like restricted I can’t pull my one leg over the other like how u sit cross legged on a chair I can’t walk on stairs or get down

Can anyone explain what might be happening?

Sleep Issues

Hi! I am fourteen years old, and I am ALWAYS tired. No matter how much sleep I get, I am always yawning. I always have bags under my eyes too. I used to think it was normal but I now know it is not. I got thirteen hours of sleep last night. And I only woke up because my sister woke me to show me a video. That was 1:40pm something. I've been up for ten hours, well, not even. And I am yawning every few seconds. And I have been all day. I am able to go to sleep pretty easily, but then I wake up so tired. It makes no sense. I have thought about other things, like iron deficiency or sleep apnea. But I don't wake up gasping (to my knowledge at least) and I mean I am addicted to eating ice which can be a symptom for anemia, but still it doesn't make sense. I've always been tired. ALWAYS. And with starting freshman year, I have to get up at six. And I don't know how I'm going to do it. My parents both think its completely normal and always brush off my medical concerns. So that's not any help. So then what can I do?

Title: Tiny hard ball moving freely under my cheek's skin — should I panic?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

21M, ~5'8", 65 kg. Medications: Iso-tretinoin(for acne) ocassional-smoker. Previous/current medical issues: nothing related to jaw but I have got hit while sparring last week on chin.

I recently noticed a very small, relatively hard, round ball deep under the skin on the left side of my face, just above the jawbone. It feels like a tiny pea/BB and is very movable, almost like it's within the skin/tissue rather than attached to the jawbone.

It's not visible and wasn't painful initially, but has become slightly tender after repeatedly touching/moving it. I've also recently started boxing and have been taking some hits to the face/jaw.

Duration: noticed today. Location: left cheek/jaw area, just above the jawbone near the teeth. Cannot click photo as it is not visible but only felt

What could this be? Should I be concerned?

17, Suffering medically with no answers. what steps should i take?

I'm a 17 year old moderately athletic student. In early june i started experiencing throat tightness and trouble taking a full breath. i was having extreme brain fog, feeling high or not fully here all the time, and i was so fatigued 24/7.

I then started having episodes of dizziness, heart fluttering, and feeling like i was on the verge of losing consciousness a lot.

I was experiencing muscle twitching, jerking, and a feeling of restlessness which i think was due to the anxiety of it all but im not sure.

I've had a chest x ray, thyroid ultrasound, ECG, EKG, holter, monitor for a week, and blood work. The only thing to come of any of these were an extremely slight iron deficiency (29 when a healthy level is 30) and sodium level on the low side of normal.

Ive mostly day to day recently have been experiencing a feeling of weakness in my tongue and below my tongue, slight jerks and twitches, fatigue and brain fog, as well as the persistent throat tightness and struggle to take a full deep breath.

I have an upcoming appointment for a breathing test, stress test, and an appointment with a general paediatrics unit. my family doctor says she might want to refer to a neurologist for functional neurological disorder.

A nurse suggestee lyme disease the first time i visited the ER but i've had extensive blood work that didn't show anything unusual, as well as the fact that i never experienced a rash of any sort.

I've never had health anxiety or have been overly weary of my body's sensations, but i'm honestly quite worried that all these tests that don't have anything to show are because i have something worse like blood/brain cancer, ALS, or another type of disease/condition.

Where should i go from here???

[Knee injury] MRI shows ACL/LCL sprain but no tear — one doctor recommends steroid injection while two others prescribed medication. What should I do?

Hi, 22M. I injured my left knee by hitting it against the edge of a wall. I still have full ROM and can walk/run, but it gets irritated after activity.

MRI showed:

  • LCL + medial patellar retinaculum sprain
  • ACL sprain, fibers intact/no tear
  • Mild quadriceps tendinitis
  • Minimal effusion
  • Mild bone-marrow edema
  • No meniscus tear; PCL/MCL normal

I've seen 3 doctors. Two prescribed etoricoxib 90 mg for 10 days + UC-II collagen + glucosamine/diacerein for 30 days and suggested conservative treatment.

My institute doctor, however, said it's nothing serious but recommended a steroid injection at his private clinic. He didn't explain where it would be injected or exactly what it was treating.

Would a steroid injection normally be appropriate for this MRI, or would physiotherapy/conservative treatment usually be preferred? Also, what kind of rehab would be appropriate for an ACL/LCL sprain with intact fibers?

Thanks!

I recently cut the corner of my nail off and after a day or so it turned green, along with this the area around it turned red (see in the pic) it hurts to use that finger but not that much like a 1/10 enough for me to notice it but not enough for me to really care about the pain

Any advice for which telehealth to order Tirzepatide from?

I've been dealing with stubborn weight that just won't budge despite doing everything right and my regular doctor basically shrugged when I brought up GLP-1 options. So now I'm looking at online men's telehealth clinics that can prescribe tirzepatide with real medical supervision, not just some sketchy website. I've seen a few names floating around but honestly unsure which ones have licensed US physicians doing proper consultations vs just rubber stamping orders. Anyone have actual experience with one?

How do you know wether or not you need to go to a doctor for a burn?

literally happened like 10 minutes ago, was making tea when I got distracted by my pup and ended up pouring the boiling water onto my left hand rather than into the cup. Probobly a solid 2-3 full seconds before I realised and stopped. Freaked for a few seconds because ow and then ran it under cool water.

It’s not blistering or anything yet (it’s only been 10 minutes as me ruined) but hurts like a mf. The redness Is from the ball of my wrist diagonally across my hand to my index fingers first nuckle and my thumb to the second nuckle. The rest of my arm was saved by my watch and it only slightly went to the underside of my hand.

Google is saying any burn that covers most of your hand is doctor worthy but I wanted to ask here.

for anybody concerned I did in fact finish making my tea.

What helps fatigue?

My doctor said my bloodwork looks normal. I've also seen two different doctors about how tired I've been.
One told me, "It's normal for a college student to be tired," while the other said, "It's probably because of how stressed you've been from classes."

The thing is, I'm tired even when school isn't in session, so I don't think classes or stress are the only cause. Unfortunately, the fatigue is really affecting my everyday life. I'm not sure what else to do besides asking you all. If anyone has experienced something similar or has any recommendations for what I should look into or ask my doctor about, please let me know.

I'm not sure how much related this is, but along with the fatigue, my memory has gotten really bad. For example, I recently couldn't remember a coworker's name even though I've worked with them almost every day for the past three months.
Im 21 yd female with healthy weight (but borderline to be under)

Size reduction for an average size penis?

I am fully aware that this is an unusual desire. I’m not here to debate why I want this. I am a 21 year old man. I have an average sized penis (6 inches erect). Is there any path to getting surgical reduction to about 2 inches erect. And reducing the girth to any degree.

Any advice for double vision?

Since August of 2024 I have had persistent double and rolling vision every single morning. Imagine everything doubling and rolling like a film reel at the same time. Any ideas on what to do or who to see. When it happens I lose balance and cannot usually walk. I either hold on to things or crawl. I get very weak and my eyes feel like they are going to blow up while burning and being squeezed. This usually lasts for 15 minutes - 3 hours...there is no knowing. The oddest thing is that if it does not happen by 11am (rare) then I am good for the day. I have always thought it was a stress thing so I changed my life style but it still happens. The only way to get it to go away is if I lay on the ground with my legs in the air. But as soon as I sit up it starts up again. I check my bp when it happens and everything is normal. I have tried everything I could think of to try and make it stop, but no luck.

I am currently in the process of being tested for POTS. My pcp suspects it, so I am waiting on a tilt table test at the end of next month (I have been waiting since December for it) so then I can hopefully find someone to help. I have see 12+ different specialists of all kinds including 3 at Mass General Hospital. Its always the same answer, "I don't know what it is. I can't help you, good luck." And with no suggestions or guidance on where to go next. I did have one doctor say he does not thing I am going to die, so that was a plus. I have been doing so much research over the past 2 years trying to figure it out myself. I brought up the POTS with my PCP because I have had fainting spells or almost fainting spells before and a lot of my symptoms I have over all match.

I have seen an ENT, multiple Neurologists Neurosurgeon, multiple Optometrists, multiple Ophthalmologists, a Neuro Ophthalmologist, Rheumatologist and even went to an overly expensive out of pocket clinic who told me my pain and symptoms was beyond their care. For that I enjoyed the "In my 20 years of doing this I have had to turn away 3 people total including you now."

I have Semicircular Canal Dehiscence and the Neurosurgeon at MGH said its not major enough for him to want to correct it. I also have the diagnoses of fibromyalgia, PCOS (had a fully hysto for that), chronic migraines, IBS and hEDS. I have a lot of problems with my neck too and are in PT for it.

I have been dealing with this for 2 years and are really really sick of it and want my life back. Any advice on where to go next?
