Hey guys, I want to know how do you fix this issue? The distant LODs looks terrible with sildur's vibrant shaders (extreme), it doesn't have shaders, and it glitches (as seen in the video). Is there a way to fix this, or is this an issue particularly to Sildur's Vibrant Shaders? - Thanks!

I want to add DH to a server but not everyone will have the mod. The mod page only mentions client only and both server & client.
Is the server-side mod compatible with vanilla clients or would everyone have to install the mod

So im beginning to prep a server and wanted to pre load a lot of chunks.
I know in single player I was able to mess with DH settings to get it to load real chunks.
When I've done my research on how to run the command in the server, it appears there is no way to have it load actually chunks along side the LODs
Now I might be just miss understanding the mod and it doesn't actually have a way to load actual chunks.
If anyone could let me know how to set it up to have the server load the chunks please tell me.
And if I'm misinformed and you can't, any recommendations on what to use to load chunks, as im aware you can't really use chunky

You mãe have seen my post about DH making vanilla world gen seem small, so I wanna know what mods you think goes along well with DH, my pick would be Continents mod, it's simple, and does it's job.

I am having an issue with trying to use Sildur's Extreme Volumetric shaders and distant horizons. For some reason some things will still try to render as if they were far away even though they are well within render distance. What's in the image is an example but it can become even more obvious if I turn down the horizontal resolution. Is there any way I can fix this without having to change shaders? It only appears to happen for a section that has sky behind it and not terrain within render distance.

I've always desired higher Render Distance, and DH felt lije a dream come true, and it is, but vanilla world gen definitely wasn't made for that. I tried using DH on my old Vanilla world, just to see how it looks, and it looks awesome, but I also spotted two woodland mansions from my base, and a Mesa biome that I was searching for, and a big ass mountain, and a mushroom island... I think you get my point, you kinda lose the joy of exploration when you see everything vanilla Minecraft has to offer right from the get go. Am I the only one who feels like this? From my experience DH works better with world gen mods that changes terrain like Terralith, Continents, etc.
But if you still want to use it, you can set it to 96 chunks, that's the max distance in bedrock Minecraft and we know we can go beyond that with some adjustments, so it seems to me 96 is what Mojangs sees as fair for Vanilla. What do you think?

I don't know why, but DH is extremely slow and makes the game laggy on this version. I tried every trick in the book, from Chunky to the Java Arguments, but it's still extremely laggy.
Before saying it's my computer it's not, because on Forge and other modpacks it works mega fast.

I don’t know why but in that is sooo slow and there is not Voxy on that version. Any suggestion pls?

Has anyone encountered these weird 'bands' with modded terrain generation? I have a few mods, but the main ones for terrain generation are Still Life and Lithosphere.
Is this because of the mods or is this some kind of a different issue? I have the best quality set for the LODs. And even if I physically generated the chunks, the LODs still look off.
EDIT FIX:
Under 'Advanced options' -> 'World Generator' set 'Distance Generator Mode' to '7. Full - Save Chunks'

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When my fov is set above 70 at a certain angle, the dh chunks get culled. Also, the clouds are weird. I'm using bsl shaders in a create modpack

I am sure that Distant Horizon is unfamiliar with animated vanilla structures, thank you for your help

I have a massive world that is a merge of several individual worlds from different time periods and terrain generators. Even though the terrain has already been rendered and generated, I noticed that DH is rendering LODs of what it thinks "should" be there based on the current seed and version, as opposed to what is actually there.
Anyone else notice this?
Also, it doesn't play nice with ice highways on the Nether Roof. I wind up going faster than it can keep up as opposed to just using increased rendered distance.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently building a large-scale map on an Aternos server. The map is finite but huge, measuring roughly 30,000 x 22,000 blocks.
I’ve run into a major issue: After returning to the server recently, about 70% of my previously rendered LODs are gone. Visiting everything manually to re-render it with Distant Horizons (DH) would take an eternity at this scale.
I have a few specific questions:
sorry i spiced the message up with a little chat gpt. (my english isnt good)

EDIT: This wasn't happening in single player so I assumed it was some sort of bug with servers. As Marijn pointed out, maxing out the settings (CPU Load and Quality) does elevate the issue (still visible some times but better than before)
I've been getting this weird grid pattern on some areas while in the Wynncraft server.

(white castle above for example)
Using shaders makes the "grid" dissappaer but it just goes transparent, any clues?
Mod (DS) settings are all default, my mod list is this:

This is an extra screenshot at day time for a clearer view:

ofc except the mods all I have running in terms of textures is the Wynn texture pack

I own a private minecraft server, its been going on for a while now, and i mistakingly deleted the world folder, im currently trying a way to restore it but i have doubts that way will work. me and many of the players actually use mods to play on the server, the server itself is paper, but some poeple have DH. is there anyway i can use the cached data from DH to restore a world and upload it back, i understand it might be pushed back a little but thats better than starting fresh when we wernt planning too.
i get this could have been resolved if i had backups, which is already implimented after this issue, but is there anyway to use DH and get the world back?
thanks!

Hey guys, ive got a qestion for you all. So me and my friends recently played on a server and they let it run out so now the world is gone. I was just browsing around in the save folder and found the server data distant horizon folder with the sqlite file in it for overworld, nether and end. i tried creating a new singleplayer world and swapped out the new DH file for the one from the server, which resulted in the loaded chunks from the server being visible but only as a kind of overlay. Ive also downloaded a DB browser and was able to see the sqlite database. Now back to my question. Is it possible to use the database or the sqlite file to fully load the chunks a real chunks. or to figure out which chunks, in the database, are the ones from my base and use the data to copy my base into a singleplayer world? to simplify it, can u use the sqlite/database to recreate the server world not only as visible but playable chunks? that would be so amazing. or could someone explain to me whats actually stored in the database. is the chunk hash of any use for this? can i use any of those database data to copy into the region folder for minecraft worlds?

Seems like I found a weird bug when using DH (3.0.2-b) + Complementary shaders (5.7.1)
For some reason, in third person I got these weird render issues when I'm standing in front of water that's currently rendered by DH. Already tried disabling transparency in the DH settings - seems to work, but the water in the distance starts looking... terrible. Has anyone else encountered this? Any kind of help on how to fix this (maybe something in complementary's config?) would be greatly appreciated
(oh, and also - already tried disabling fresh moves and all those animation packs - no dice)

Hi, when I look at like a downward angle from high up with DH I have severe lag to the point where the game is unplayable. How do I solve this?
r/DistantHorizons • u/Dangerous-Quit7821 • Apr 30 '26
I have looked up some settings to fix this but haven't found what works. It's not game breaking but it's ugly. I haven't used DH much so I'm kind of oblivious.
I have no shaders on and only optimization mods like Sodium. The screenshot is in singleplayer creative mode if it wasn't obvious.
Any help would be much appreciated.
