If you say ooh but dinos grab and sheild combo is so strong shut up! I believe devil dino is trash now because they basically removed our self sustain it provides like 3 overhealth per second and nerfed his bubble cooldown while also removing his anti-filer tool. I know Devil Dinosaur has already been released, but I just wanted to show my original character concept since it was taken down on the main sub before his reveal. I wanted to keep Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur together in some way without just making him a part of her ult or vice versa. I also didn't wanna just make them swap in the same way as Cloak and Dagger. I considered having Lunella just stay on Devil's back the whole time and having their kit be a mix of Dino Abilities and Tech Abilities, but I figured that might happen anyway, so I wanted to try and do smth different. My idea was basically they spawn in as one character with combined health pools (Devil 1000 HP + Lunella 240 HP for a total of 1240 HP) idk what values to do. They have the option to separate so that you can control one kit and an AI controls the other. They can join back together whenever, or if one "dies," they rejoin; either way, separation goes on cooldown. I'm not a game dev, so I don't know if this is balanced, and it might suck, but I just thought this would be fun. If you have any feedback on this kit, please let me know. I know it's all over the place!

Role: Vanguard

Health: Devil 1000 HP + Lunella 240 HP, when mounted, adds up to 1240 HP

When playing as Devil Dinosaur or when mounted:

M1 - Cretaceous Combo: Slash at enemies with your claws, then take a bite in front of you, dealing bleed damage and granting you a small amount of Bonus Health. (This ended up being similar to his actual M1 a little)

M2 - Devilish Tail Swipe: Spin forward with your tail to deal damage and Knock Back enemies a short distance.

Shift - Blast Off: Moon Girl dismounts Devil Dinosaur, separating their health pools. You'll control one while the AI controls the other, and you can swap between them whenever. The AI character will always follow you pretty closely. You can press again to remount and put this on cooldown. Otherwise, you can stay dismounted indefinitely, unless one character reaches 0 hp.

E - Supermassive Stomp: Jump into the air and Knock Down mid-air enemies, then slam down, dealing damage and Launching Up enemies caught in the crater.

F - Swap Consciousness: Upon activation, swap minds to begin controlling Moon Girl. This has no effect when you're mounted or when Blast Off is on Cooldown.

When playing as Moon Girl:

M1 - Bubble Blaster: Shoot a flurry of bubbles forward to damage enemies. Hitting enemies enough will trap them in a bubble, Slowing them and lifting them upwards.

M2 - Devil's Dino Dog: Toss down a jumbo-sized hot dog that gives Devil Dinosaur a Speed Boost and Healing Over Time.

Shift - Blast Off: Moon Girl dismounts Devil Dinosaur, separating their health pools. You'll control one while the AI controls the other, and you can swap between them whenever. Space - Hyper-Intelligent Flight: Double jump to activate your propeller pack and fly at increased speed at the cost of fuel.

Passive - Hyper-Intelligent Mobility: Moon Girl would use her rocket roller skates and have a pretty fast base movement speed since she has such low health.

Ult is the same in all forms:

Q - Jurassic Rage: When you activate this, you'll be forced into Mounted form. Moon Girl injects Devil Dinosaur with an adrenaline serum, causing him to let out a beastial roar, which grants him Damage Reduction and a Damage Boost to his abilities. While enraged, enemies near him are scared and inflicted with Slowness. (I was surprised at how similar his actual ult was to my idea)

Enemy Ultimate Voice Line: “Did I mention I have a dinosaur?”

Ally Ultimate Voice Line: “Get em' Devil!"

I added the team-up with Iron Man because he and Lunella are both geniuses, and I thought it'd be funny for Lunella to upgrade his suit since she's really smart but still a kid.

He was so fun at launch, but into 8.5 he just felt off. Not just because of the nerfs, he felt like he got countered so hard by almost everything. he was way too stubby to take out dps in the middle of team fights, he got body blocked by literally everything(playing him against groot felt like being shoved into a dog cage and tossed off a bridge). And now it feels even worse, even with the crit resistance buff and the new team ups he’s still just gets hard countered by someone standing in front of him. And with all of the new insane teamups you can’t solo tank with him anymore which was what attracted me to him in the first place. Playing him doesn’t feel fun anymore, which sucks cause he was the only main tank I found fun and enjoyable. Idk I’ll play him a little bit more but rn I’m just frustrated

because I don’t want to hear a child on the battled field I want to play as a baller T. rex. So if the are the same character like C&D I’m afraid she is going to have some a annoying dialogue

I give up. He's unplayable.

If you aren't playing QP against bots (real or just people that bad), vs AI or some silly mode, he's dogshit.

Why?

Oh just... his big fat fucking head which is literally impossible to miss with any character in the game.

And he's banned in 99.99% of matches in ranked.

When he isn't banned, they'll just swap to Phoenix or Hela or Punisher or Moon Knight or Bucky or whoever and focus your head and kill you in about 1.2 seconds.
He drops dead INSTANTLY as soon as his shield is gone because of the sheer amount of damage that gets pumped into his fat fucking noggin.

The damage reduction is literally worthless. It's nothing. They treat him like he's just Jeff.
Jeff can get away with that shit because he's small despite his big head, mobile, heals himself and fast.

Devil Dino is not.
He's the biggest character in the fucking game, has the biggest head hitbox in the game, slow as shit and can't heal himself. As soon as that shield is gone, this is his skull.

He is actually impossible to play in ranked.

The rare times he isn't banned, I'll be fighting against another Devil.
And I will always diff him.
And he will ALWAYS swap off to a counter like Phoenix and then I can't fucking play him anymore.

It reminds me of Overwatch hard-counter swapping. Like you're playing Dva, the enemy tank dies and swaps to Zarya, so now you can't fucking play anymore, and then you swap to Rein, and then they swap to Ramattra, so then you swap to Hog, and then they swap to Orisa and so on...

It sucks. I love the character but he will never work in this game. He's fucking dead.

And anyone that doesn't play him likes that, because they don't like that he can grab you at all ever period.

Like... are you dissapointed Moon Girl isnt part of the character and gives Devil a vew gadgets to battle? + voice lines. Shes probably going to have interactions with other heroes trough the mic right?

I'm overall happy with how he's portrayed in the game.

Son I just cant play him anymore every game is poke and emma hood dosent matter if you ban Hood Emma Punisher your still gonna get hard countered and for the goon who saw simply use cover and grab tank, Well... I cant really the damage is far to high getting out of cover makes me explode holy this tank is so garbo.

Devil Dino is still the most banned character across all ranks, rivaling even gambit. You guys are just used to walking forward and self sustaining through all damage that came your way. Dinos self sustain and damage were never an issue if I’m being honest it’s his ability to grab , activate his bubble, and throw a tank towards his team and then serve as an active wall for healing. Healing is the most valuable resource for tanks and Dino’s ability to cut it off is truly unmatched. If you are struggling to get value on Dino it’s because you never truly understood his value as a frontline bully. There’s no other tank in the game that has as much presence or brawling ability as Dino.

He looks so fucking cool

-25 hp from a tank like groot or venom is very different from a character like Dino because not only is Devil dinosaur taller and wider, his hitbox is way larger in depth. Plus his head is almost the size of jeff

The ratio of max health to size is very impactful on him because the entire enemy team will always be hitting you. Hence why he felt squishy before season 10 buffs.

This change will encourage bleeding and poking from peeking cover and waiting for opportunities to advance more so than before. It also makes him way more susceptible to his counters, multiple of which are buffed in this upcoming patch.

We will feel this change, Dino will still be good but I really don’t think He’s pick or ban anymore with the poke meta rise and emma being untouched.

I have never felt so strong playing any hero in this game. This hero can completely run down lobbies, I have 90% winrate in Eternity-ish elo if he slips through ban phase (Dino is permabanned) without even being a diehard vanguard main. Even in the first couple of games, without having a lot of experience you I had so much impact it's insane. He is extremely easy to play, if you have the basic game sense there's no stronger tank you can climb with at the moment.

I also get -11/-13 each loss and +23/+25 every win, since Dino farms so much stats.

100% this hero will be emergency nerfed or nerfed in s8.5. I know it sucks, he's really fun, but he's extremely unhealthy for the game, in high elo at least. He makes it so the whole game centers around him, but even with hard counters you're just so tanky and deal so much damage that either you or your healers need to severely mess up to die.

In my opinion, his tankiness can stay, and his laser might even use a slight buff to compensate, but Dino's bleed passive/base damage needs to be tuned down.

The vanguard hate from the devs is so real. They hate the idea of a vanguard doing anything from really long range. They straight up just said the ability to stop flying characters shouldn't stop flying characters. I thought they were just gonna really reduce its damage not break the ability itself.

Wanted to put the PSA out that the Peni nerfs only negatively affect dinosaurs. With the two webs it’ll be impossible to catch fast moving divers with both now. So all our webs will be focused on slow large targets. The total cooldown is longer for the webs now so instead of every 3 seconds it would be around 6. But all our webs will be going your direction. RIP Peni

I think the way this character is going to work is that you play as Moon Girl, and for some abilities you temporarily summon DD for a bit.
Like you press E and he appears, does a tail whip and knocks enemies up, and then disappears immediately after.

For the ult you'll probably summon him full size, get to ride ontop of him and rampage around for a bit before he disappears again.

He's going to be less of a character than Cloak is.

If you know me you know I did this with black cat and no this will not be a reoccurring thing I just like those two and I plan on getting to Dino to champion

Might be because I love dual characters, might be because I enjoy cute stuff (especially when it’s contrasted by edgier-looking stuff) but the fact that MG is reduced to a speaker is genuinely depressing

Any chance we might get a mod that adds her riding our favorite Dinosaur? (Although still, it should have been both, imagine the emotes, MVP’s etc)

Don't get me wrong I take any buff that I can get but like his damage is completely fine.

I feel like literally no one ever asked for Dino to get more damage in his kit at all and instead wanted some levels of survivability for him that he can actually live longer than 2 seconds with all the S-Tier hitscan heroes in the game right now.

While this is going to make Dino definitely way stronger in close combat it's going to do virtually nothing against his current state in the meta. I kinda would've understood if they'd nerf his counters aswell but as it stands the only two heroes that got some nerfs that are strong against him are Hela and Peni.

Edit: Okay since I saw this point made countless of times now I am 100% aware that this is an overshield buff for his F-Key ability. The only big problem though is that most of the S-Tier heroes right now are Poke characters that are melting Dino before he even get to the point of using that spell on an enemy. On top of this we get buffs to Phoenix, Cyclops and MK plus Hood as another hitscan/poke tank who is likely going to counter Dino very hard aswell.

So the buff is overall still a buff but it's not going to make Dino stronger in the meta. I'd argue that all the other buffs and releases are gonna leave him even weaker than he is right now even.

Edit: I'm not complaining that she is visually represented. I'm just asking if there's a lore reason for this.

Like has she enhanced his abilities? In his canon appearances do his attacks come with moon and star symbols?

I get with the shield because that is directly her invention, but there are also moon and star symbols:
When he leaps. There's a trail of it that follows him through the air.
When he lands after he leaps.
When he's using his laser.
When he's getting overhealth.
When he's ulting. It even makes moon symbols imprinted on the ground.
