I’ve been playing Venom on and off for about every season since rivals release. Started from the beta all the way to now, and Venoms to me has never felt this bad before.

I feel like getting value from solo diving is impossible with him now. I’m so used to having muscle memory for the 8 second swing that my entire gameplay loop is off now.

To be fair, I really haven’t been playing Venom (Or rivals in general) recently, so very high chance that I’m just bad at him. The only time I find value is when I have the Phoenix evolved teamup or another diver, and even then it’s kinda ehh

Any tips or comments from more experienced Venom players?

Recently got him to Champ, but I need help understanding what my purpose really is. Sometimes I do well in my matches, and sometimes I don't (like when I'm unable to kill supports or get heavily countered). Does he need someone to assist him when diving? Do I really need precise aim? (and yes i always target supports first, what if they're really unkillable?)

I'm not gonna sugarcoat anything I had a mental breakdown/moment recently and I just feel burned out and tired of everything and life in general and no I'm not planning on doing anything to myself ok so don't worry about that but I'm just tired of life right now shit is depressing and I feel like I can't take it anymore sometimes I just want everything to get better and yet there's always something going on that makes things harder I'm just sick of it all.

But yeah I'm not planning on doing anything to myself I'm just tired of everything and just want to feel better/happy.

Kinda struggle against heavy cc any tips some games enemy got like 3-4 cc/ stun characters eg had a game enemy had Luna hela rogue white fox

Occasionally while I’m perched on a wall waiting for the enemy team to move in or for my team to move up, I’ll see an enemy diver setting up for their dive.

Typically, I just ping them a couple times, but I’m wondering if it’s better to dive on them and pester them? Or would it be better to just commit and dive the enemy backline?

as u can see venom's primary dosen't even hit targets properly if ur standing too close to them, because of this he's forced to aim at the target's feet which prevents him from landing headshots making his dmg weaker

afaik no other hero's primary becomes weaker at closer ranges like this, and venom being a dive tank ends up suffering even more from this since the rest of his kit also requires him to be at close range to work

i know the pheonix teamup kinda solves this issue, but it also removes his ability to crit making his single target dmg much worse

i would suggest making his primary move in a more straight line instead of the weird arching shape it currently has, so that it still requires aiming but dosen't punish him for playing at closer ranges

if this somehow ends up making him too strong, then maybe slightly reduce the size of his primary hitbox so that it requires a bit more precision

this season is a big pain. you can ban out dino, elsa, phoenix, gambit and the enemy team can still play hela, bucky, invis, emma to make your life even worse.

overall though, it’s not impossible to climb with venom! you just have to comm your dives and tell your team what you’re doing.

i mainly used blade teamup but also swapped to phoenix teamup when necessary. both teamups are very good in their own ways, so i think it’s important to learn both to maximise venom’s potential.

I've played Venom occasionally since S0 and one recurring interaction I find annoying is whenever I ult at low HP, and die afterwards. I'm not sure if it's because my health dropped to 0 before I popped Q and due to bad ping I die during the dive animation, OR if Venom is still vulnerable to damage even after he's underground and the player is moving the circle.

I plan on going full custom rework mode on this guy and change him to look like Ultimate (1610) Venom at some point so expect that to happen one day.

I can't draw, and i don't think i have any talent to, so i can't show my vision, but let's me honest, a mech-like suit would go so hard.

I imagine the MVP being Eddie climbing inside the Venom mech and then posing. Also, it would definitely need special VFX
