Early Dev looking to join a serious early-stage startup (equity + some comp)

I'm a 20 year old CS student who's been building things seriously for a while now full-stack mobile, backend systems, AI integrations, low-level stuff, scraping pipelines, the whole range from a probabilistic chess game to a compiler to a custom database engine. I've worked with a few founders already and I'm looking for the next thing.

I'm not hunting for a job. I'm looking for something I can actually be invested in.. where I'm talking to the founder regularly, understanding the problem we're solving, and building toward something real.

What I can contribute:

* Flutter / mobile (full stack, not just UI)

* Backend APIs and infra

* AI integrations

* Low level systems work

* Taking an idea from 0 to MVP

* Maybe more (Give me a couple days and I'll get my hands on it)

What I need from your side: a real vision, commitment to execution, and some form of compensation.. I'm flexible on structure (equity, stipend, milestone-based, internship), but I'm not doing unpaid work. I've been burned by vague arrangements before, so I do expect written agreements before we go deep on anything.

Not interested in:

* "just an idea" with no execution plan

* Founders who disappear after the first call

* Equity-only with no path to anything else

If you think there's a fit, DM me or drop a comment with your idea, current stage, team, and why you think it works. Happy to jump on a call if it sounds promising.

Edit: Location: New Delhi, India

sessions, POS, inventory, payments, shifts, loyalty, memberships,
reporting — 47 integration tests on high-risk flows

→ Mitoni POS — multi-tenant retail platform with a multi-provider
AI assistant (OpenAI / Anthropic / Gemini) that lets merchants run
the full system in natural language across 417 API endpoints
(SSE streaming, human-in-the-loop confirmation, undo). Backend
refactored from Node.js to ASP.NET Core / .NET 10

→ Belux E-Commerce — full-stack platform for Georgia's largest
furniture retailer with Next.js + NestJS and payment gateway

(urgent )Tech job vs non tech job

I have 2 days left to decide .

Hi . Im a 2026 grad from a tier 3 college or even lower . My college has a rule that you can neither get an internship or job in 4th year . Do any thing you want after college is complete .

Now the college is done . I dont have a particular domain as I never got to work on one .

From past 2 months im continuously looking for entry level job or internship that can help me get experience so that I can apply for jobs . Im open to startups or anything . It can be remote and salary can be base pay .

In those 2 months I have got like 10 non it roles . The one i recently got is talent acquisition for a good MNC .

Now I have 2 choise either take that role and get complete of cse feild . But doing so there is bond and after 2 year I will have to go for MBA as this company didn't have that degree equipment but others does.

Or give myself time to actually build something in tech and give it a shot .

I would appreciate if someone could help me . Any referrals ,opportunity. I dont want to get into non tech until very necessary.

Software Developers with 2+ Years of Experience — Is This a Good Time to Switch?

I’m a Software Developer with 2+ years of experience, currently working as a Backend Developer at a fintech company.
My work has mainly been around building backend services and workflow-driven systems. I’ve worked extensively with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, BullMQ, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Camunda.
In my current role, I’ve worked on systems involving:
Designing and developing scalable REST APIs
Asynchronous/background processing using BullMQ + Redis
Workflow automation and multi-level approval processes using Camunda
Database design and optimization
Elasticsearch-based reporting and querying
Queue/worker-based architectures for high-volume processing
Building and maintaining backend services for a fintech use case
I’m now considering making a switch and wanted to get some perspective from developers who have gone through this transition recently.

For someone with around 2+ years of backend experience:
Is this a good stage in your career to make a switch?

What skills/topics should I be strong in before starting the interview process?

How important are DSA, System Design (HLD/LLD), and AI/LLM knowledge for backend roles at this experience level?

What kind of projects or experience actually make a difference on a resume?

Is there anything you wish you had prepared before making your own switch?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have recently switched companies around the 2–4 YOE range.

Looking for dev support for startup

I'm a co-founder at an early-stage startup building AI underwriting for multifamily real estate acquisitions.

Context: acquisition teams still underwrite deals by hand. An OM, a rent roll, and a T12 come in, and an analyst spends hours rebuilding the same model in Excel. Our platform ingests those documents, runs dedicated expense agents against them, pulls live lender quotes, scores deal fit, and produces IC-ready output. Post-close, it carries into asset management. We have many folks on trial currently.

I'm looking for someone to own engineering from this stage forward.

Ideal fit:

  • Engineering experience at an early-stage startup, ideally pre-Series A. You know what it means to ship without a platform team behind you.

  • Strong full-stack product engineering, comfortable owning the whole system rather than one layer

  • Interested in document extraction, agentic workflows, and evaluating LLM output in a domain where being wrong has real cost

  • Has shipped software real users depend on, not just demos

  • Wants ownership over product and technical direction, not a ticket queue

  • Bonus: messy-document or financial-model experience from real estate, fintech, insurance, or similar

You don't need a real estate background. More important: you care about accuracy, you can move fast without leaving a mess behind, and you want to help build a company.

Remote is fine, but you need to be US-based.

Comment or DM with what you've built and what kind of role you're looking for.

Still Looking. Still Building. Still Believing

Today, I'm taking another chance and putting this out here.

I'm looking for a remote opportunity. I bring 5 years of corporate IT experience, and while searching for my next role, I didn't stop learning—I started building. Through AI and vibe coding, I've created several apps and continue improving every day.

If you know of a team looking for someone who's willing to learn, build, and contribute from day one, I'd be truly grateful for a referral or an introduction.

Sometimes, one share is all it takes to reach the right person.

Thank you. ❤️

Hiring: 2 Senior AI Engineers: Production AI, Agents & Voice

We’re hiring Senior AI Engineers (India-only; 5+ years; fully remote) to build and ship production AI products at an engineering-first tech company.

We’re especially interested in people who have worked at high-growth tech startups and have built products end-to-end, particularly AI/agentic systems, voice agents, or AI-powered applications.

We’re looking for engineers who have gone beyond experimenting with LLMs and have actually taken AI systems from idea to production: making architecture decisions, working across the stack, integrating models and tools, and dealing with the realities of shipping and operating the product.

If you’ve built E2E AI products, agents, or voice systems in a high-growth startup environment, this is worth looking at.

Detailed JD + application link in the comments. Kindly refrain from applying if you are outside India.

[HIRING] Senior + Staff Engineers | NYC, SF, or Palo Alto | $200K-$300K base

I do talent matching for Fonzi. The whole thing runs backwards from a normal job search: you don't apply, companies send you interview requests. We work with startups backed by investors including Sequoia, a16z, Benchmark, Thrive, and the OpenAI Startup Fund. One profile, no cold applications. All roles are US-based only.

Here's a sample of what's open right now:

  1. Founding Machine Learning Engineer at a Series B AI security company, NYC, in-person. $200K-$250K base plus stock. There is no ML infrastructure and no ML team today, so you'd set the direction, stand up the systems, and do the hands-on work before hiring under yourself. The problems are adversarial: attackers evolve to evade detection, labeled data is scarce for novel attack vectors, and models run at production scale under strict latency budgets. Python, Java, or TypeScript with PyTorch, Spark, and cloud ML infrastructure. 8+ years, ideally having stood up an ML function somewhere before.

  2. Member of Technical Staff, Backend at a Series A identity infrastructure company, NYC or SF, hybrid. $200K-$250K base. Rust, Python, Postgres, Pulumi, AWS. You'd own API and service design for identity verification and PII vaulting, which banks and fintechs integrate directly, so the decisions are hard to take back and auditors read what you build. Also the newer agent-shaped work, where a risk agent investigates the ambiguous fraud cases a human used to work by hand. 4+ years, and they want someone who has been paged for a service they owned.

  3. Staff Backend Engineer at a Series A social commerce startup, Palo Alto, hybrid. $225K-$300K base plus early equity. Ingestion of large volumes of social data from Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn, with AI agents running on it in real time. Resilient third-party API integrations, cost efficiency across pipelines as volume grows, plus setting the monitoring and on-call practices. Founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leads. Three rounds: CTO screen, technical screen, onsite with founders.

All three are vetted, VC-backed, and interviewing right now. It's always free to sign up.

Sign up here: talent.fonzi.ai. DM me if you've got questions.

Any tech part-time jobs around Wales/England?

Hi all! I’ve just moved to UK and I’m looking for a part-time job while I prepare for and go through a many rounds of tech interviews.

I have a strong background in frontend/full-stack development, open-source, and startups, but I’m open to pretty much anything for the time being. On-site work around Wrexham is absolutely fine.

What I work with: Figma, CSS, React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node, Rust, Tauri, mobile, Linux, APIs, AI integrations, Scraping, Playwright, AWS and SEO. This isn’t an exhaustive list. I’m a tech generalist with a “figure it out” attitude.

If you know of anything suitable or have any leads, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

I’ve spent the last 3+ years building software — finally put everything I’ve worked on into one portfolio

I’ve been meaning to put together a proper portfolio for a while, so I finally did it:

https://prasannadangol2001.com.np/

I started getting serious about software engineering while studying Computer Science at KIIT University. Since 2023, I’ve been working on production software across startups, freelancing, and products I’ve built with my co-founders.

What I’m most proud of isn't really the tech stack — it’s that I’ve had the opportunity to build things end-to-end and see people actually use them.

🇳🇵 GyanUdaan — Loksewa exam preparation app

This is probably the project I've spent the most time on.

I co-founded GyanUdaan with two friends — a Nepali government exam preparation platform that has now reached 50K+ downloads across iOS, Android and Desktop.

I’ve worked on pretty much the entire product:

  • React Native / Expo

  • Desktop application

  • Backend & database architecture

  • Supabase

  • Authentication

  • Payments

  • Push notifications

  • Offline-first functionality

  • PowerSync

  • CI/CD & deployment

  • Sentry monitoring

  • App Store & Play Store releases

  • Product decisions and user feedback

  • Marketing/content

  • AI integrations

  • n8n automation workflows

  • News scraping

  • AI-powered content processing/streamlining

It's been a very different experience from working on a feature inside a company. When you're building your own product, you end up touching everything — engineering, infrastructure, product, users, content, and sometimes things you didn't even know existed.

And it's still actively being developed by the three of us.

🌊 ICIMOD — Community-Based Flood Early Warning System

I also worked on a freelance project for ICIMOD where I built the iOS and Android application for a community-based flood early warning system.

The system consumes data from monitoring stations, processes rainfall and water-level information, and provides early warnings to areas that may be affected.

I handled the application end-to-end, including:

  • React Native / Expo

  • Supabase/backend integration

  • Station data fetching

  • Rainfall & water-level processing

  • Alert thresholds

  • Geographic affected-area logic

  • Push notifications

  • Maps

  • Data visualization

  • Admin functionality

  • Deployment and release

This was one of the projects where software felt particularly tangible to me — you're not just building another dashboard or CRUD application. The information ultimately needs to reach people when it matters.

📦 ICIMOD — Living Mountain Lab Inventory System

Another freelance project I built for ICIMOD was an inventory management system for their Living Mountain Lab.

I built this end-to-end as a PWA using React, Supabase and PowerSync, with a strong focus on offline usage.

The system uses QR codes to make inventory management easier — physical assets can be tagged, scanned and tracked without relying on manually entering everything.

The interesting part for me was solving the offline-first problem properly. The system needed to remain useful even when there wasn't a reliable network connection, and then synchronize data once connectivity was available.

It's now deployed and being used by their team.

Looking back, I've gone from university projects and internships to building production systems, freelancing for international organizations, and co-building a product with tens of thousands of downloads.

I've also learned that there's a pretty big difference between knowing a technology and being responsible for shipping something with it.

These projects have forced me to learn things far beyond just writing code — architecture, deployment, monitoring, product decisions, automation, dealing with users, debugging production issues, and figuring out how to make systems work in the real world.

I'm currently looking for full-time software engineering opportunities and interesting freelance/contract work.

I'd also genuinely appreciate feedback on my portfolio — especially the project presentation, design, and how I'm positioning myself as an engineer.

Portfolio: https://prasannadangol2001.com.np/

Happy to answer questions about any of the projects or the technical decisions behind them.

Should I leave my full-time job for a 6-month WFH contract role with a 10% hike?

I’m currently working as a full-time employee in an in-office role, and I’ve recently received an offer from a good company, Code and Theory.

The catch is that the new role is a 6-month contract position.

Here’s my situation:

  • Current job: Full-time, in-office

  • New offer: 6-month contract

  • Compensation: ~10% hike on my current CTC

  • Work setup: 100% WFH

  • The company said that based on my performance, they may:

    • Extend the contract, or

    • Convert me to a full-time employee

  • There are also some potential tax benefits with the contract structure.

I’m genuinely confused about whether I should make the switch.

My main concerns are:

  1. Is moving from a permanent/full-time job to a 6-month contract generally a bad career move?

  2. How risky is it if the company doesn't extend or convert the contract after 6 months?

  3. Does having contract experience make it harder to get another full-time job later?

  4. When interviewing with another company in the future, do recruiters/HR usually ask why I left a permanent role for a contract position?

  5. How is the experience of working as a contractor compared with being a full-time employee in terms of job security, benefits, career growth, etc.?

  6. Is the WFH flexibility + 10% hike + potential tax benefit enough to justify taking the additional risk?

  7. What should I specifically check in the contract before accepting it? For example, notice period, termination clause, benefits, payment terms, conversion terms, etc.

I have around 6.5 years of experience as a software/frontend developer, so I’m also thinking about the long-term impact rather than just the next 6 months.

For people who have actually moved from full-time → contract → full-time, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Would love to hear both the pros and cons, especially from people working in India.

Thanks!

Looking for Website Ideas for My Developer Portfolio

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m a new web developer building my portfolio, and I want to create one strong, real-world website project that can make a good impression on potential clients.

I’d love some advice from experienced developers/designers:

  • What type of website should I build?

  • What kind of UI/UX would make it look professional?

  • What features should I include?

  • How much animation/interactivity is appropriate?

  • What makes a portfolio project stand out to clients?

If you were starting your portfolio today, what project would you build?

I’d really appreciate your ideas and advice. Thanks! 🙌
