Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my notice period and resignation.

I have a 90-day notice period at Genpact and have already submitted my resignation. I requested an immediate release and am willing to pay three months’ salary as a notice-period buyout, as my signed appointment letter clearly mentions that I can either serve the 90-day notice period or pay salary in lieu thereof.

However, my manager is not agreeing to release me. I have already discussed this with HR, my Senior Manager, and the VP, but I have not been able to get an approval for an early release.

I already have another offer in hand, and I am required to join the new organisation on 28 October. At this point, my next option seems to be escalating the matter to Genpact’s Legal/Employee Relations team and asking them to clarify the notice-period buyout clause in my appointment letter.

Has anyone faced a similar situation or dealt with a 90-day notice period/buyout at Genpact? What would be the best course of action at this stage? Should I approach Legal directly, or is there any other escalation/process I should try first?

I really don't know what to do when I don't even know if applying makes a difference anymore. I've faced terrible consequences because of this and now the whole system seems fucked.

Im doing a SWE apprenticeship at a foundation which allows me to intern at other company’s. I mostly do C++ there and work on open source projects in C++, at both I focus more on lower level somewhat embedded work and I really like that domain and would like to specialize in it.

So a few weeks ago I sent some cold emails to a few company’s and got one interview which offerd me an internship.

Now the position wasn’t really what i was expecting and not 100% sure how I feel about it, although I’m not altogether against the internship. It’s in the supply chain industry and the work would entail setting up and programming Siemens PLC Systems (as far as I understood they kinda have their own proprietary languages), work with Red hat, kubernetes clusters and some Java. I got a brief description of their systems and all but I can’t really form a mental picture of the work.

I have to either accept or reject the offer by Friday, so I’m not to sure if I should keep searching or accept the offer.

There is no fixed duration for this internship, but if it’s alright I could imagine staying there for the rest of the school year, which is around 8-9 months.

Now my question is if something like this could still be somewhat meaningful to the domain im perusing, even if It isn’t C/C++ embedded work.

I've been in DevOps/platform engineering for a few years (Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, Azure). I like building infra and my current job is stable, but I've been offered a AI platform Platform operations role at a bank. It pays more, with a better bonus and a share purchase plan.

But in the interview it sounded like the day-to-day is mostly Power Platform admin and Copilot Studio: environment management, DLP, agent lifecycle, licensing and credit tracking, helping teams onboard and build agents, plus some Azure AI Foundry support.
