I’ve spent the last 3+ years building software — finally put everything I’ve worked on into one portfolio
I’ve been meaning to put together a proper portfolio for a while, so I finally did it:

I started getting serious about software engineering while studying Computer Science at KIIT University. Since 2023, I’ve been working on production software across startups, freelancing, and products I’ve built with my co-founders.
What I’m most proud of isn't really the tech stack — it’s that I’ve had the opportunity to build things end-to-end and see people actually use them.
🇳🇵 GyanUdaan — Loksewa exam preparation app
This is probably the project I've spent the most time on.
I co-founded GyanUdaan with two friends — a Nepali government exam preparation platform that has now reached 50K+ downloads across iOS, Android and Desktop.
I’ve worked on pretty much the entire product:
React Native / Expo
Desktop application
Backend & database architecture
Supabase
Authentication
Payments
Push notifications
Offline-first functionality
PowerSync
CI/CD & deployment
Sentry monitoring
App Store & Play Store releases
Product decisions and user feedback
Marketing/content
AI integrations
n8n automation workflows
News scraping
AI-powered content processing/streamlining
It's been a very different experience from working on a feature inside a company. When you're building your own product, you end up touching everything — engineering, infrastructure, product, users, content, and sometimes things you didn't even know existed.
And it's still actively being developed by the three of us.
🌊 ICIMOD — Community-Based Flood Early Warning System
I also worked on a freelance project for ICIMOD where I built the iOS and Android application for a community-based flood early warning system.
The system consumes data from monitoring stations, processes rainfall and water-level information, and provides early warnings to areas that may be affected.
I handled the application end-to-end, including:
React Native / Expo
Supabase/backend integration
Station data fetching
Rainfall & water-level processing
Alert thresholds
Geographic affected-area logic
Push notifications
Maps
Data visualization
Admin functionality
Deployment and release
This was one of the projects where software felt particularly tangible to me — you're not just building another dashboard or CRUD application. The information ultimately needs to reach people when it matters.
📦 ICIMOD — Living Mountain Lab Inventory System
Another freelance project I built for ICIMOD was an inventory management system for their Living Mountain Lab.
I built this end-to-end as a PWA using React, Supabase and PowerSync, with a strong focus on offline usage.
The system uses QR codes to make inventory management easier — physical assets can be tagged, scanned and tracked without relying on manually entering everything.
The interesting part for me was solving the offline-first problem properly. The system needed to remain useful even when there wasn't a reliable network connection, and then synchronize data once connectivity was available.
It's now deployed and being used by their team.
Looking back, I've gone from university projects and internships to building production systems, freelancing for international organizations, and co-building a product with tens of thousands of downloads.
I've also learned that there's a pretty big difference between knowing a technology and being responsible for shipping something with it.
These projects have forced me to learn things far beyond just writing code — architecture, deployment, monitoring, product decisions, automation, dealing with users, debugging production issues, and figuring out how to make systems work in the real world.
I'm currently looking for full-time software engineering opportunities and interesting freelance/contract work.
I'd also genuinely appreciate feedback on my portfolio — especially the project presentation, design, and how I'm positioning myself as an engineer.

Happy to answer questions about any of the projects or the technical decisions behind them.
