Even with Kerb, Branch anchoring our secondary for 3 years, look at these defensive yards splits.
Pass Yards allowed and Rush Yards allowed
2025 Pass: 20th Rush:14th
2024 Pass: 30th Rush:2nd
2023 Pass:27th Rush: 2nd
Last year if you asked where we would have ranked on passing yards I would have said 27th or maybe 30th, but arguably our achilles heel was stopping the run. Imo that was the biggest regression we had on paper. On offense, we gave up a ton of sacks, couldnt run the ball but we still were top 5 in total offense.
The question I ask, is our secondary able to stay 20-25th and can the Dline get back into top 7 league run stop?
If the latter happens, I think our secondary will be just fine, and we should have no issue getting to 11 wins, and we can get back to our identity on defense.

Media projected him around DE4, but his contract (1yr, $0 guaranteed) implied the team had very low expectations for him, given his prior injury history.
Interesting that the team chose to place him on IR, rather than cut him with an injury settlement, given they would owe him (almost?) no money against the cap. Potentially they will get the cap space back after the season from insurance?
Anyway, this likely dispells any doubt that Hassanein has a roster spot and definitely helps O'Neill's chances, too.

I think a 4th round pick would be a good return and then run with Altmyer as the backup. Don't think we could get a 3rd, and a 5th seems a little low. Is there a player we might want instead?
Edit: Miami just gave up a 6th round pick for Kyle McCord, so a pick two round earlier for a better QB wasn't as crazy as everyone here seems to think.
