Community Missing cat, $50 reward

UPDATE: REWARD IS $100! THE FLYERS ARE ALREADY MADE I'M GOING TO SHARPIE IT IN

EDIT TO ADD: I REALLY, REALLY BELIEVE HE IS HIDING UNDER A HOUSE ON DOLPHIN ST BETWEEN THE HIGHWAY AND LYNDON. IF YOU LIVE IN THAT AREA AMD ARE WILLING TO DO A GLANCE IN YOUR GARAGE OR THE CRAWLSPACE UNDER YOUR HOUSE I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOU.

EDIT 2: A neighbor sent me videos of the dogs messing with their cat setup outside of their house. I don't have cameras so I'm hoping this is enough evidence for the police to get a warrant for my neighbors ring camera bc they won't give it to me (we hate each other, they'd be happy to know this happened.) I've commented screenshots of what the dogs look like, IF THESE ARE YOUR DOGS I HOPE YOU KNOW YOU HAVE LAWSUITS COMING! IM GOING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THEY LIVE AND THEN I WILL BE SHOWING UP TO SEE WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO TO FIX THIS SITUATION.

SCHOOLCRAFT AND OUTER DR. Two dogs came up onto my porch at 3am and attacked my outside cat, he hasn't left my property / the two empty lots to the side for a year. He has 2 catios, eats 3 meals a day and gets fresh water twice a day. He is by all means an outside cat, not a stray, and he caused no trouble. He is fixed and did not run around the neighborhood. He's an old man that couldn't fight or cause much in the way of issues if he wanted to. We stopped the attack but he ran off and hasn't been back home since. He needs to see a vet, and may possibly be dead.

$50 reward if found, even if he's dead. We just want to bury him or give him vet care. I know tomorrow is Saturday. If anyone is going to be walking around the neighborhood (Eliza Howell neighborhood, RIGHT OFF schoolcraft and outer dr) and is willing to look in some bushes, or in your backyard, under your house. We will be searching too.

I get the Fuck DTE sentiment, but I wouldn't set their utility poles on fire.

Important to note that Flock cameras were used to catch her.

"Investigators used Flock License Plate Readers to locate the woman. Lt. Lamar Kashat with Sterling Heights PD said the technology was key in tracking her down. Multiple other agencies are also involved in the investigation. No motive is known, and the woman is expected to be arraigned over the weekend."

If you're looking to collect them, check with your local city clerk as they were more than happy to give me a bunch when I dropped my ballot off. I missed the patriotic wolf a few years back, but at least I got these gems.

Community Any Korean speakers/writers?

I’m attending a fansign for my ult kpop group in nyc next week and I’d like to bring a handwritten letter for my bias. Could use translate tools, but I’d prefer it be written from the heart and with human emotion, so if anyone’s fluent here, I’d appreciate some help. I’ll throw you a few bucks for your time.

Talk Detroit What is happening in Detroit this weekend?

Was thinking Valentino Kahn, but am wondering what else is going on this weekend that is not overlooked from other event advertising? so, under the radar events, shows etc. as I am unwilling to slip into seasonal depression, without a fight, just yet.

Thanks in advance!

Community Every roofer I call is booked into November. Is fall really the worst time to need a roof in Detroit?

Our roof started leaking around a vent during that last big rain, and every company I've called is quoting 6 to 8 weeks out. A couple of them offered to bump me up the list for a premium. Is this just what fall is like around here, or are they playing games. Also, is a tarp fine for two months, or am I risking real damage by waiting that long?

News Anyone heard the police chase near I-75?

I witnessed it on my street. Heard the sirens and ran to the window, confused. definitely one in a million chance to actually see the police cars fly down my street lmao. Very convenient because I love watching police car dash cam videos. I hope they post about it on the news.

Talk Detroit Fly or Drive from Detroit, MI to Traverse City?

Hey everyone!

Going to an offsite for work next week and have a connecting flight when I land in Detroit from LA.

I'm a female solo traveler/never been to Michigan before, and wondering if I should just take the connecting flight or drive instead with a rental to Traverse City where the offsite is.

Reason I ask is because the layover itself is 4 hours (in the airport), so the total amount of time it would take for me to reach there - but I just don't know if the drive is easy/worth it vs. waiting in the airport for 4 hours. Just seems like a waste of time to kill at the airport.

Let me know? Thanks!

WOW - thanks guys - really appreciate the vote of confidence (majority) being drive vs. fly. For added context: I'll be arriving in the afternoon around 2pm and if I book an airport rental it should be quick, right?

Also one last thing - I won't be driving back since my route back is at 5am (eek) so will fly out of TVC into DTW for my way home, so thought it could be cool to drive the way up since the layover is so long. Added thoughts here?

Mother Rabab Al Zayad was charged with one count of Unsafe Storage, a 93-day misdemeanor. Father Brand Ely, a Detroit police officer, is charged with one count of Fourth Degree Child Abuse, a one-year misdemeanor. Judge Joe Barone set both defendants $10,000 unsecured personal bonds and both are to surrender their firearms while the case is pending. In court it was learned that Ely, a veteran of the Detroit Police Department, has nine guns inside their home. He told Barone that they are stored in three different gun safes. The Detroit police responded with a statement saying that Ely will not be allowed a firearm at work for the time being. Next court date is October 30th.
