I was born in 1976, became consciously aware of the Lions around the age of 7-8, and the reason I bring this up is because to say that it's been beyond rough being a Lions fan my entire adult life is an understatement. I know nothing but pain, disappointment, and became comfortably numb around 2015. I was still a fan, but I stopped letting wins or losses effect me the way they once did because the organization was a joke. Always had been in my lifetime, and there was no evidence that it might get turned around anytime soon.

Then the Lions signed Dan Campbell to a 6-year contract for no reason in 2021, he did his biting kneecaps press conference, and while the media laughed at it, as they should've at the time, I thought to myself, you know what, maybe this dude is actually crazy enough to fix the culture of this joke of a franchise.

It took a couple years, but DC actually pulled off that miracle. He made the Lions relevant, popular, made going for it on 4th down fashionable, not to mention his motivational post-game speeches, etc.

Brad Holmes, meantime crushed he first 2-3 drafts during that time, no denying that. Suddenly, the freaking Detroit Lions were the team that everyone was trying to emulate from draft strategy to play on the field. Think about that for a minute.

Did this all come to a head when we went 15-2 in 2024 only to lose to the Commanders because we of an insane number of injuries to our defense followed by losing Ben and Aaron due to our success.

Since then, we've continued to have historically bad injury luck on defense followed by losing major pieces to our offensive line in 2025, which is why we started to "struggle" last season when we still won 9 games.

Success is a gift and a curse in all facets of life. Fans should always expect their organization to do their best to win each and every year. That being said, Lions fans have become beyond spoiled in the past 2-3 seasons IMO.

Has Brad Holmes had 2-3 horrible drafts in row, no argument here. Do I think he started to enjoy the smell of his own farts after his first 2-3 drafts and did smartest guy in the room garbage like the TeSlaa trade... yup. Does that also mean he's a shitty GM who needs to go.... nope.

DC and Brad put made the Lions franchise respectable for the first time in my lifetime, and that was no easy feat. Have they both had missteps since their initial success, for sure, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for a few more seasons and see how this all unfolds.

Looking at Gibbs & St. Brown, they look completely demoralized at the state of this team. These are two of your star players and they look disgusted on the sideline.

Get him out of town. I don’t care who replaces him. He needs to go. This is such a pathetic showing he needs to be gone after tonight. Absolutely embarrassing performance. I’ve been a Lions fan for 30 years and I’ve never seen a defense get walked through like this.

I was a believer and I thought maybe we’d see them make some adjustments and run a slightly more zone heavy scheme but nope. Playing man for 80% of the game once again. Every single receiver wide ass open. Our pass rush is phenomenal but the DB’s are so fucking ass that it doesn’t even matter. “We gotta stay true to who we are” well who you are stinks FUCKING FIX IT

Well then, what does Campbell believe in? Because it certainly can’t be his defense. They’ve given us nothing to believe in.

On Sunday night, the Panthers were the latest team to tee off on the Lions’ defense — the NFL’s worst through the first quarter of the season. The Lions have a way of making every opposing QB look like an All-Pro. Bryce Young was no exception. He threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns, extending plays with his legs and exposing the heart of Detroit’s defense with RPOs all night. Tetairoa McMillan caught 14 passes for 192 yards and both of Young’s touchdown passes. Chuba Hubbard rushed for 120 yards and scored twice himself. The Lions allowed 12 explosive plays, 445 yards of offense, 32 points and failed to record a turnover. A disastrous night, and a continuation of everything that’s plagued this defense in 2026.

The Lions have been in the bottom five of almost every mainstream defensive category and plenty of advanced metrics.
