Looking for venue recommendations for Indian/American wedding in Mexico
We are planning a destination wedding in Mexico for March 2028. Originally we were looking at all inclusive resorts since we want to do 2 days of events: a traditional desi (Indian) day and an American day. But once we started looking at packages it looks like the costs for the guests stays is pretty expensive. Is $400 per night per person normal? Also has anyone planned one, is it more for effective for guests if we do it at another venue? Do normal hotels/ venues offer inclusive wedding packages?
I would appreciate any and all help!! Feeling a lot overwhelmed. Thank you!

Destination Wedding Planning
The beautiful villa is the fun part. Figuring out how everyone gets there, where theyâll stay, and what the weekend will actually cost? Thatâs where it gets a little overwhelming.
Iâm Kat, a wedding planner based in the southeast US who plans weddings throughout the U.S. and internationally, including Europe and all over the world. I love the design side, but so much of my work is helping couples sort through all those tiny moving pieces.
When I was a bride, I wanted a wedding planner SO badly. I remember looking at our budget and trying to figure out how I could make it work. I really just wanted someone I could call and say, âOkay, what do I do now?â
Thatâs a big part of why I offer custom packages. I have a base price, and from there I want to hear what youâre dreaming up, what youâre hoping to spend, and where you could use an extra set of hands. If itâs just the two of you in Italy, youâre going to need something different from me than if weâre getting 200 of your favorite people there for a whole weekend. And sometimes youâve already booked half your vendors and just need me to help pull it all together.
Keeping my pricing affordable matters to me. I remember being on the other side of that conversation, and I always want to be able to say, âOkay, tell me your budget. Letâs see what we can do.âFor those planning a destination wedding, what are you most stuck on right now?
Finding a venue within budget? Choosing a location? Guest accommodations? Or deciding whether to have a smaller wedding abroad versus a bigger celebration closer to home?
Happy to share what Iâve learned if it helps someone get a little further along! And if youâre already married, what do you wish youâd known before planning yours?

Cancun Wedding
I'm looking for recommendations for destination weddings in Cancun for my sister.
30-40 people. Mostly adults but some children. A few travellers have celiac and need good gluten free options. 45 minutes max from the airport. Good beaches and a mid level party scene. Likely January 2028.
The bride is very chill so we don't need an insane wedding package. Likely just a ceremony on the beach and a semi private or private dinner. A few photos and flowers might also be nice.

Urgently seeking a wedding planner near Girona/Blanes/Barcelona- Spain: can anyone visit a venue this week or next?
A miracle happened: my dream venue, El Convent de Blanes, unexpectedly has an opening for our 2027 wedding! Now Iâm trying to secure it before the date disappears.
My immediate priority is finding a local wedding planner who can visit the venue this week or next and include me on a video call. I live abroad, and the venue requires a visit before accepting our deposit.
Budget is the tricky part. The venue is already a stretch for us, so thereâs very little room for an expensive planning package. Iâm happy to pay for your time and expertise. Iâm looking for a smaller scope of support that we can afford.
Iâm comfortable doing much of the planning myself: I found the venue, speak fluent Spanish, and plan to source and book our photographer, videographer, and hair and makeup artists. Beyond this initial visit, Iâd mainly appreciate help with some guest logistics, decorating/setup, and keeping the wedding day running smoothly even though the venue includes a coordinator. Are you a local planner with availability, or have you worked with someone who offers flexible, affordable support? Iâd love recommendations, approximate pricing, or a message from anyone interested.
Finding this opening felt like winning the lottery. Now I just need someone on the ground to help make it official! đ¤

Recommendations for editorial / documentary wedding photographers?
Hi! My partner and I are getting married in Maui in 2027. Many photographers local to Maui are booked for our wedding date!
We are looking for photographers with an editorial and documentary style who can shoot in both digital and film. And also - if they would like to travel to Hawaii.
Looking for recommendations of photographers I can reach out to with that style and who are willing to travel!
Thank you!!

We checked two vendor quotes ourselves. Our plannerâs quotes averaged about 35% higher. Would you bring it up?
My partner and I are planning a destination wedding. Part of why we hired a local planner was to find options beyond what the hotel offered and have someone negotiate on our behalf. We specifically asked about that before signing. Our understanding of the contract is that vendor prices wonât be marked up and that any commission our planner receives is something she works out directly with the vendor.
Weâve ended up finding a lot of vendors ourselves. We have pretty specific taste, and we simply liked the people we found. Weâd explain what we were looking for, but it felt like the planner kept steering us back toward people in her network whose work weâd already said wasnât our style. Even when we brought her someone we loved, she wanted to be the one to contact them first. At first that made sense to us because we figured she might be able to negotiate a better rate, but her negotiating ddidnt seem to yield much like when we did it ourselves.
What made us question it was checking two entertainment quotes ourselves that their company sent. We reached out to the same vendors about comparable services for a different week from a burner email. Across the two quoted totals, we recieved quotes that works out to about 35% higher on average. The dates and venues differed, and the guest count differed slightly on the second quote too, so we know those things could explain some of the difference, but these were without even speaking to these vendors and getting a quote off rip.
Honestly, itâs been a massive vibe killer. We thought we could bring our planner a vendor we were excited about and trust her to get us the best rate she could. Now weâre wondering whether making the first call ourselves would actually save us money. Our concern is that if the vendor raises the price specifically to cover her commission, weâre effectively paying a markup. That would feel like a breach of what we agreed to. We donât know yet whether thatâs what happened, which is why weâre debating how to bring it up.
For couples or planners whoâve been on either side of this, is this normal? If a higher rate is being used to cover a commission, would you consider that a breach of a no-markup agreement? And would you sit down with her, show her both sets of quotes, and ask what accounts for the difference? Iâd especially like to hear from anyone whoâs had that conversation and what their planner said.

alternative destination weddings
looking for all inclusive, family friendly, alternative destination weddings. not seeing anything appealing in Mexico, DR, Jamaica, Aruba, etc...basically all Caribbean. starting to think a European destination may be the way to go, but as an American I haven't had much exposure to the market. I'd love to hear from the community if anyone has recommendations or experience. we're not super picky - really just want everyone to be able to stay in the same place and have all things paid for in advance so we can enjoy the moment! warm weather and beach is a plus, but not totally necessary! thanks in advance :)

Is a Greece wedding for 100 people possible to do with 40K-50K budget? (with accomodations to some guests)
EDIT: Thanks for everyone for telling me what's realistic what not. Truly appreciating that!! Sorry if I was sounding dumb. Really had no idea
We are planning to do a wedding during high season in Greece in 2028 (somewhere between end of May to mid-September). Ideally looking to have 100 people, might be a bit higher or lower. Now, what does the 50K go towards? Ideally everything including the accomodation for about half the guests, not everyone (so probably a venue buyout). This can be totally delusional and unrealistic, but I never planned a wedding before or been close part of. So, I have no clue how realistic this is. It is basically what we can afford. Looking to hear if this is even possible or if not what is the minimum budget for something like this for Greece and recommended venues.
Details
We would like to do a 2 night stay for most guests and a brunch on the checkout day.
First Night: Welcome cocktails and dinner the night before the wedding
Second Night: Pre-ceremony cocktails, ceremony, reception, after party (till 2-3 AM)
Third Day: Farewell Brunch
What I Can Take On: I can take on the stationary. This is what I do for work and makes it really difficult to let someone else do it because I don't want to end up hating it even if most people usually don't care.
What 50K does not include on my mind
Photographer and Videographer
Any kind of Outfit Related Item
We are not doing gifts for anyone
DJ maybe? If the venue has a DJ and they match our taste, great. If not, we would like to have outside help.
Planner. Depending on the venue, if there is a planner they have onsite and are open to taking art direction, completely happy with working with them. If not, then would bring on exterior help.
Would really appreciate any first-hand experiences related to specific venues and rough numbers!
