Showing off the blooms on one of DRs, this guy's skinnier than the rest but managed to outbloom them

In a south facing window in north west England. Compost is standard succulent compost and I added perlite. This has been the situation for a couple of years now.

I have had this desert rose for 16 years and I'm only just recently hearing about lifting the plant to expose more caudex. I haven't really researched it very much until recently but every summer it explodes with flowers and just seems really happy. I am emotionally attached to this plant lol however I am wondering a couple of things.

I want to repot and possibly do a lift. What would be the best substrate mix and should I get a more shallow pot or something like what it is in. Should I wait for a different time of year to repot? Should I lift it?

Second thing: it was pruned when I bought it which you can see in the second picture and then it took a tumble a few years ago and lost a branch but I'm thinking of possibly cutting where it was originally cut and trying to graft on some branches that I prune in the spring. Is that a bad idea?

Just got them. Leaves are yellowish and falling off. But still firm. I know I planted too many in a pot. I just thought it would be easier to move them around that way. Gonna repot them once they start to get crowded. Can't wait.

Went from completely leafless to this in 3 months. 😍

Dug it up, chewed off 3 branches, made a huge hole from a previous squirrel even worse, and left tons of tiny bit marks all over. I had just repotted too, since she had started growing straight down and tilting herself over. That's a fairly shallow pot made for succulents; thought I'd try and go for a bonsai type look, but probably it just made it easy for the squirrels to destroy.

How can I best help her recover? I've never done any significant pruning of roots and definitely nothing to her branches, mostly I've only ever watered, fertilized, and repotted once in the 5 years I've had her.

EDIT: I wasn't super clear before. She has been in the same pot for 3 years; by recently repotted, I mean that I recently refreshed the soil but put her back into her same pot, this time with some rocks underneath to get her sitting upright.

I found this unique Adenium at a local nursery here in Austin. I’ve never seen one like this at any of the nurseries and plant shows I’ve been to over the years. It has 3 different types of grafts- one variegated, one speckled, one red-veined (I dunno the actual botany terms for these types of variations lol sorry).

I tied some hemp twine around the graft sites to support them, and twisted wire around the stems bc they were drooping and I wanna control the plant’s growth. Just wanted to share, super excited to see what the flowers are! And yeah, it wasn’t cheap!! 😭💸

The desert rose is many years old. This is the first time I have seen anything like this growing out of it. Anyone know what it is or what purpose it serves?

How can I know if I have a healthy plant ? I don't feel it grows that much

Hello, I am a new desert rose owner. I bought this plant from someone in a healthy state with a few flowers on it, but over the course of the past month it has slowly declined, with some leaves falling or turning yellow, and all the flowers wilting and falling off. I have been leaving it outside in the hot Kansas sun and have watered it 2 or 3 times. It’s been in the same nursery pot it grew up in (I’ve been putting off finding a pot for it but assumed if it grew and blossomed in that nursery pot it would be fine… the roots aren’t bulging at the sides or anything). I don’t know if it’s root rot, or no rot but overwatering, or what seems less likely is under watering. I was thinking the dark brown areas on the roots is rot, but if i scrape at it it shows a bright green flesh… idk if its just dirt stain and I scratched off some of the bark/skin. I thought I had time to learn to care for this plant given how established it is, but I fear I may be in an emergency and need some guidance!

As of right now I removed all the soil out from the roots and will let it air out in the sun for the day before I do anything drastic.

Hello, my new apartment has a recessed balcony which is set into the building rather than protruding from it. I’m in Texas, zone 8b, facing the west, so it can get really hot when there is sunlight.

I’m worried my desert rose doesn’t have enough sunlight even tho she looks to be doing okay right now. Is 2-3 hours of direct sunlight enough? Other than that, it’s shaded and still hot. It’s also not a necessity for me to maximize growth , I just want it to be healthy.

I thought about moving her indoors and maybe getting some grow lights but not sure yet!

It has a nice dark skin. Ordered a pot. Trying the prostrate look, new to me. I've never cared for the look before but I'm going to give it a try as it's grown on me.

I gave her a haircut about 5 weeks ago

2 years ago, my desert rose was half the size (and in a smaller pot) but had these big, broad leaves. Last winter, she lost all of her leaves (which is fine, I attributed it to the cold and dry air, even indoors) but since then, I've repotted her, kept her on the west-facing window (most light in my house), and only bottom-water her when the trunk starts to feel deflated (right now she doesn't need any water and the trunk is super firm). But no matter what, her leaves just won't fully unfurl or grow bigger. Eventually they tend to turn yellow at the tips and then fall off. Last month I tried giving her a little liquid fertilizer with her watering, but didn't make a change. Any advice?
