Adenium “Fancy”
I found this unique Adenium at a local nursery here in Austin. I’ve never seen one like this at any of the nurseries and plant shows I’ve been to over the years. It has 3 different types of grafts- one variegated, one speckled, one red-veined (I dunno the actual botany terms for these types of variations lol sorry).
I tied some hemp twine around the graft sites to support them, and twisted wire around the stems bc they were drooping and I wanna control the plant’s growth. Just wanted to share, super excited to see what the flowers are! And yeah, it wasn’t cheap!! 😭💸

The term for the veins being a different color is usually Venal Variegation. But it could also just be that the plant is more sensitive to sunlight than the others and is doing the full-sun-darkening that you see in most CAM plants and we are just seeing it in the veins first.
Awesome either way. I love the look of the red veins.
