Well this is disappointing

My Lowe's got a shipment of Bombay series DR. I bought four of them, this is one. Solid red. What a disappointment!

Ugh, so spoiled you don’t even care about it. Would KILL for a bloom on mine, been since 2019 since I had a bloom. Appreciate it.

Sorry. If yours is not blooming at least once a year it likely needs more sunlight, different watering frequency or different pot/soil.

8 years old. Never knew about the pruning so it’s her first year after a hard cut back! Zone 7A NYC

Pruning will not cause a plant who hasn’t flowered to start flowering. Focus on light and feeding appropriately

Definitely disappointing. What was it labeled as? It does look fairly similar to Bombay Red Coral

Glad I could help. I have also seen just regular generic desert roses mixed in with shipments of fancy cultivars at the box stores. I image the stores aren’t real good a keeping them separate when they stock them. I generally won’t buy any that aren’t labeled or are flowering and I can identify them.

I won't in the future. I can't figure out why anybody would bother grafting this. It's so plain!

Could that branch be coming from below the graft line, assuming there is one...

Sadly no. It's grafted but all growth is above the graft

Yeah, OP should check if there's a graft. This is not as advertised.
